Re: Somewhat Loved (98,310) (98,313) by Stacey from USA
I thought AIWFCIY hit the top spot 25 years later. Were you asleep during math class? Somewhat wrong.

Re: Somewhat Loved (98,307) (98,312) by Nicky from Jasmine's Sofa
I love It's Like That so much. When it came out I couldn't get enough of it. I was working at a restaurant and heard it for the first time coming from the little radio in the kitchen that the cooks would play. I thought the lyrics were fresh and new and the whole sound was so on point. I second that we need a moment like that again. "Just makin the most of life."

So you're saying it is somewhat of a super, sleeper hit song?

Re: Somewhat Loved (98,308) (98,310) by Edward from USA
AIWFCIY reached the top spot 18 years later. It might take 50 for "Somewhat Wrong", but it could get there. We should all start requesting and calling the radio stations now.

She's amazing and her writing credits are even more impressive than her own music. Love her.

I love your enthusiasm and positive thinking. I like the song. Enjoy listening to it in the car. A #1 song? Not a chance.

Re: Somewhat Loved (98,306) (98,307) by Anonymous from USA
A fun and sexy song is exactly what we need right now. We know she's got it in her. I want something fresh and a new style, I love the signature style but I also want something "new" and unexpected. Like when "it's Like That" came out, it took a second listen but quickly grew on me. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. MC16 better deliver, some Lambs won't wait forever and unfortunately will probably move on, like some people on this board.

Re: Somewhat Loved (98,300) (98,306) by Mynn from Planet Lamb
I mean you never know. A lot of lambs didn't expect Touch My Body to go to #1 and yet. Actually, that'd make for an interesting conversation.

For MC16's lead single, would [sic] kind of vibe are you hoping for/expecting? A sex jam er sensual jam, like Honey/Touch My Body, a fun jam like Fantasy/Heartbreaker, or something more dramatic like Vision of Love/Emotions?

Missie Elliott birthday (98,305) by RibbonB from USA
Missie is so talented, happy bday. I was today years old when I found out that "work it" just flipped and reversed the phrase, I put my thang down flipped it and reversed it.

Re: The Meaning of Mariah audio book error (98,303) (98,304) by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
"I don't wanna cry" is not on the international releases of #1's because that song was not released as a single in most countries.

On the international release, "I don't wanna cry" was replaced with "Without you", which was her biggest hit in most countries, but not even #1 in the USA.

Re: The Meaning of Mariah audio book error (98,293) (98,303) by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
Maybe she disown I Don't Wanna Cry as her number one single, so technically I'll Be There is her 5th number one. Even in #1's album non-US edition, the one that I bought, I Don't Wanna Cry is not included.

Re: Somewhat Loved (98,299) (98,302) by JC from USA
Mariah is unlikely to have any new material viral on TikTok; if anything, it will be older "classics".

SL gets 2 stars from this lamb. Chorus is decent. "Ain't such things as lover and friends" ties it together nicely, especially how drawn out "lover and friends" is. Overall structure is a bit disjointed. Intro, versus, chorus, all sounds like half baked songs pasted together.

I see a lot of praise for the lyrics (SMH). It feels like a failed attempt at narrating a story. I was so underwhelmed, I didn't even try to push this song on my friends the way I did the whole Caution album.

Can Mariah get someone to clean up her work? I wish she'd relinquish some writing and production control to someone with more skin in today's music game.

One More Try (98,301) by Bobby A from United States
I was listening to One More Try on vinyl yesterday. I noticed that MC's vocals sound less hoarse than on the CD version. Has anybody else noticed this?

I like the song but it ain't gonna hit #1.

Re: Somewhat Loved (98,296) (98,299) by Mynn from Planet Lamb
Because SL is actually a bop, and y'all are gonna continue to sleep on it until it unexpectedly blows up on TikTok and becomes her 20th #1.

ABMB withdrawn picture sleeve (98,298) by Bill from the UK
This is something I've been mulling over for, ooh I don't know, about 15 years now. In the UK, Always Be My Baby was released in the following formats: cassette single, two CD singles, and a 7" and 12" single. This site's discography has item 2397 listed, which is the second CD single (the club mixes), with a different cover to what was released. Other pics are available on the release page on Discogs.

As we know, this CD was issued with the beautiful cover of Mariah in the snake skin shirt, and this original picture sleeve was withdrawn from sale, thus making it somewhat impossible to ever find.

What I find curious, is that the UK CD single is the *only* release with this cover, Mariah in the snake skin shirt. The withdrawn picture sleeve, an alternative shot of the regular picture sleeve (from the remix video), is issued on several releases worldwide, and even in the UK itself for the 12". So, I sometimes wonder in the dead of night as I'm collecting my thoughts for the day, if the *wrong* picture sleeve was withdrawn? I find it so odd that only one release across the globe uses the snake skin picture sleeve, and the withdrawn sleeve was issued in every other territory in the world.

Hold up. Mediabase just updated the weekly total for SL and it made the Top 20 with 428 spins for the last 7 days. I can't believe it.

Re: Somewhat Loved (98,292) (98,295) by Bobby A from United States
It looks like streaming and radio airplay has stalled in last 7 days. It is safe to say that SL won't make the Adult R&B Top 20. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis didn't say it, but I think SL was just a hype single for the album. The real big hits are going to be the Mary J Blige, Heather Headley, and Boys II Men tracks on the album.

They're giving out a partial refund of 5 cents to those who want to claim it. I got mine. I'm using the money towards her next album. Thanks for bringing it up. I almost lost all that money.

The Meaning of Mariah audio book error (98,293) by Chicago Lamb from USA
So, I'm listening to the audio book for the 2nd time and I noticed an error. Mariah talks about her #1 song [I'll be there], but refers to it as her "5th #1", which as any good lamb knows it's her 6th. Has anyone else noticed if the book mirrors the same error? How could Mariah herself have made such a mistake?

Re: Somewhat Loved (98,289) (98,290) by Edward from USA
Don't be mean, there's no need for that. This pandemic has affected many of us, anything could be sweet quality music to our ears. "Infinity" has a new found meaning to me, and the remix with those 10 rappers and Justin is to die for, literally. "One More Try" is pure perfection. Of course the one sung by George Michael.
