"Ariana's voice is nothing" compared to a lot of other great singers. I like Jennifer Hudson, she will sound wonderful for sure.

I thought I read somewhere she said she may have recorded a version of WAYC. Crossing fingers. Hubby is home from the hospital and turning the corner to feeling like himself again. Thanks for asking.

Your deluluness is beyond believe if you think Mariah can outsing Jennifer Hudson. She can take 20 days of vocal rest, send the twins on vacation, be as confident a she can be, and she won't even come close. Being a fan is one thing, being clearly in Delu-land is something else. While I prefer Mariah's voice any day due to its versatility and nuances, Jennifer Hudson's voice is way more powerful as Whitney's was. Her voice would drown Mariah's at her prime, imagine now.

Honestly I have been thinking how Mariah must feel confident that she invited both Jhud and Ari to sing along her Oh Santa! along with her. I am also scared to see what happens however Jhud's voice [is] all grand all but she yells too much and I don't consider that really singing. Nor is she on the versatile style of Mariah. No one really checks for Jhud's music and that says something. She mainly gets notice from her covers of the queens that came before her. Ari is also a Mariah clone so that also says more than we could ever say. Mariah is [a] queen vocal decline or not. Let's just be happy our girl is still alive and kicking and doing the damn thing.

I don't know what [is] wrong with the people [thinking] Mariah can't even speak or emit sound at all, yes, Mariah's voice is not the same as 20 [years] ago, but she can definitely belt and whistle as high as she used to do before, the only difference is that now she has to be very confident, rest a [lot], and be in a good vocal day, but she definitely [can't] still outsing Ariana and Hudson due to her resonance and agility.

Yea, it's risky to sing with Ariana. I'm curious to know what Mariah's plans are here. I hope she knows the current state of her voice well enough that she will perform without showing those weaknesses. The song is Oh Santa, so really, the vocals aren't so crazy on that track anyways. But as we all know, Ariana's voice is nothing compared to Mariah's legendary prime voice.

I'm just absolutely flabbergasted that she's invited the two of them to sing with her. On the same song. (Tons of exclamation marks.) That's mighty ballsy of her. Kudos to Mariah. Jennifer Hudson can sing anybody under the flood and with all the new Mariah comparisons, Ariana can show her up too. Mariah will be in control of the situation and center stage for sure. Not a huge fan of the song, so here's hoping they've reworked it into a winner. It'll be interesting to see who'll be the Celine and who'll be the Mariah to her Aretha. I feel we'll have two Mariah's a la 98 Divas respecting the Grand Dame of Christmas on her song and on her special.

B, let's be real here. Mariah's current voice couldn't outsing Ariana's. It is what it is. I don't know if you have noticed, but since Caution, Mariah has avoided anything that remotely resembles a belt. Mariah at her age would've definitely blown her away though.

Hi Edward. She indicated in [Watch What Happens] live that she recorded a scratch demo and then had Mary Ann do one and send that out to Faith as she never sends out her own scratch demos. A fan had asked about the song and that was her answer.

Even though she never mentioned having recorded her own version/demo before, that would definitely be a treat a la "Out Here On My Own". She had never talked about her version of "I Pray" either, so one can inly dream. I hope your husband is doing better.

Mariah can still outsing Grande. I think she'll do fine since it's all about her and it's a controlled environment.

MCIIY duets album, hypothetical tracklist (96,672)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
If she wants to really put MCIIY into the spotlight she should re-release it this year on its 10th anniversary as a duets album. Here's how it could be done:
1. Santa Clause Is Coming To Town (intro) 2. Oh Santa (ft. Ari & JHudd) 3. Little Town Of Bethlehem (ft. K Clarkson) 4. Christmas Time Is... (ft. Micheal Buble) 5. The First Noel (ft. Toni Braxton) 6. When Christmas Comes (ft. John Legend) 7. Here Comes Santa Clause (ft. JD) 8. Charlie Brown Christmas (ft. Snoop) 9. O Come All Ye Faithful (ft. Pat) 10. O Holy Night (ft. Celine Dion) 11. One Child (ft. Beyoncé) 12. Where Are You Christmas (ft. Faith Hill) 13. AIWFCIY (ft. JB)
It would fulfill so many of our duet dreams and at the same time catapult MCIIY into the stratosphere.

O Santa? O Mariah (96,668)
by Andrew from the United Kingdom
| |

Using Ariana to push O Santa! into the mainstream like AIWFCIY may seem like a clever move on paper, but I am not convinced it will work. If Mariah had written a new song for them it would have been better. Also, watching Mariah sing a duet with Ariana will have me peering over the back of the sofa sweating profusely. Can she pull it off? Who knows?

She looks amazing in two images she's posted, the dress she's wearing on the wreath I think we've seen before and is very Marilyn Monroe but her hair in the other image in the high pig tail is the best I've seen her look in a long time, gave me 90s feels.
Can't wait to hear her new version of "Oh Santa!" with AG and JH if that's true. I won't mention Jermaine You All Know What This Isn't as I want to remain festive.
