But I want her to give us at least an uptempo club banger after Christmas on New Years Eve. Take advantage of your title MC. I want her to release 2-3 songs before that. "Higher love" is one of my faves and I believe "I've been thinking about you" could be the next big thing. I want Mariah to forget us and really try one more time and cater her music to the general public. I know a top 20 isn't far fetched without much effort. Mariah is good for life, after this era whatever comes, I'm just gonna enjoy the music and not care. She is already the most successful female singer songwriter producer of all time and the industry biggest hitmaker. She left her mark on the world and most importantly my heart. I also believe talent-wise she is years ahead of the same people. I don't care if you spent 70 years in the biz, Mariah accomplished more in [her] first 5 years then she did for whoever long lol. Mariah is really a rare diamond, for being so successful yet still so talented. Rare combination, most people on top of the charts aren't the most talented ones. But I'm seeing right through her like she is bathing in Windex. Michael said something about Madonna once but this applies to Dionne 100%. Don't quote me and I'm not quoting MJ. "People can compliment you, adore you, smile for you but inside they really jealous of you." One of the most disgusting traits a human being can have. Love how the edgier, harder-hitting chorus provides a nice contrast to the sweeter melody of the verses. And that beat does knock. This is usually the type of production that Jimmy and Terry would reserve for Janet. Speaking about sweeter sounding melodies (which the Somewhat Loved verses have), does anybody else notice a trend pointing towards that in some of the songs hitting the charts recently? Their commonality seems to be that they're usually laid into retro-infused productions, like Ariana's 34+35, Silk Sonic's Leave The Door Open and Doja + SZA's Kiss Me More. Not complaining. It's a loaded question especially when no one knows what these divas will day about another singer. The Diane Warren comment was responding to Bill. Her voice sounds really good and she is singing in full voice. Gone is the unnatural vocals on certain parts of her home performances. She didn't sound well on those. Though is the first song since Beautiful that has the mass appeal sound she was known for in her early years blending pop and r&b. I see Jimmy and Terry's people took the song down. I don't think Dionne should say anyone is an icon, nor any other "classic" diva. Just was bizarre to me she hesitated etc and Aretha said Mariah was a true talent. Somewhat Loved (98,019) by Bill from the UK Here's a link to the snippet that was played. I don't think it sounds anything like I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time myself. The piano riff during the refrain sounds a bit like Maroon 5's This Love. I think it sounds great, a step aside from the usual formula/song structure. (Sunday 23 May 2021; 22:50)

It's such a subjective term. Aretha has said nice things about Mariah and her songwriting, but if she were asked the same question about Mimi, she might've said, "nice gowns", the way she did about Taylor Swift. A lot of these older, true singing legends, don't have the same high regard for Mimi, like some lambs seem to assume they do, or should. (Sunday 23 May 2021; 20:42)
