Define Mariah (95,420) by Musti from UK With the upcoming book, I started to think about what the meaning of Mariah Carey is for me and the point in time when I understood what she represents. Besides her catalog, it was actually the infamous 2001 TRL appearance that made me realise Mariah is all about perseverance and having a set of values that one adheres to. I find it surprising that she's been shamed for that appearance all these years while its most important moment went unnoticed. At some point after taking off her t-shirt, Mariah said they could start a clothing line with it. When Carson said "That would be the girl's division", Mariah naturally responded "What's wrong with a guy wearing this? We love all types of people." Considering she was going through hell at the time, I was so proud of her for not letting that comment slip. Of course this moment was extra special for a young gay man who didn't see much outspoken support for people like me in those days. But more than that, it also showed me that if you have an understanding of right and wrong and you stick to your values, you will be alright. (Sunday 6 September 2020; 17:55)

Just thinking about The Rarities (95,418) by Bobby A from United States I really feel the next 3 weeks leading up to the book and The Rarities release that we are in for a promotional rollout that is going to be like no other. I am looking forward to listening to The Rarities just like I did TEOM and Daydream for first time. MC's voice will be her best on this album. People are going to realize why she is the Songbird Supreme. I am ready for another R&B jam like what has been said about Hypnotized. I am curious to why Can You Hear Me has been described as The Jackson's ABC. I wonder if Mesmerized is a ballad. I am so ready for the remastered versions of Do You Think Of Me, Everything Fades Away and Slipping Away. I am looking forward to hearing Anything Can Happen, Out Here On My Own, Kick Rocks, and Loverboy. This will be MC's first album in awhile not to feature any rappers. Still shows it was uploaded in 2015, but I swear it wasn't there for years now at least not in the US. I'm assuming it's back because of MC30. Alright time to watch, haven't seen it in years. Patricia Carey (95,407) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City) Based on the article from New York magazine unfortunately Mariah, and Mama Carey are not on the best of terms, and have been estranged for quite sometime. Mariah also said despite their issues she still provides for her mother as far as financial support. As far as the assistant living facility in Florida I am not too sure about that, but if that is what is needed due to her failing health who am I to pass judgment. Let's cross our fingers and toes that we get the complete set with nothing missed... though by recent trends there are likely to be some disappointments. Heartbreaker Radio Edit (often misprinted as "Album Version featuring Jay. Z", it has a shorter break between verses and axes one of the final choruses) Remix Remix Edit [P] (only available on a few promo CDs, this version cuts out the introduction) No Rap Version Junior's Club Mix Junior's Club Dub Junior's Hard Mix Love Hangover/Heartbreaker I think these were probably the last "great" remixes Mariah ever did. The Junior Vasquez "If You Should Ever Be Lonely" mixes were inspired, and remain a work out staple to this day. I will eat my hat if the Remix Edit appears. Thank God I Found You Make It Last Remix Make It Last Remix w/o Rap Make It Last Remix Instrumental Make It Last Remix Edit Make It Last Remix Edit w/o Rap Stargate Radio Edit Celebratory Mix I'd be interested to see if the Make It Last edits (both with and without rap) appear as Mariah seems to not be including edits of the mixes. I loved the Stargate Radio Edit, I think it's the best version. Sidenote: really hope they use the "twisty top" cover and not the "hat with braids" cover. Against All Odds Single Version (a.k.a. Westlife Version) Pound Boys Radio Edit Pound Boys Main Mix Pound Boys Deep Dub [P] Pound Boys Dub Backing Track [P] Instrumental The "Backing Track" appeared on a very rare Brazilian promo CD (899.929/2-495879), so it is unlikely this will appear. Not expecting the Instrumental to make it either. The Pound Boy mixes were on that rare Brazilian promo CD as well, but were more easily obtainable on the UK vinyl release. The Westlife version is a bit of car crash so wouldn't mind this not appearing and it remaining a Mariah only affair. Can't Take That Away (Mariah's Theme) Radio Edit Morales Club Mix Edit Morales Club Mix Morales Instrumental Morales Revival Triumphant Mix Morales Revival Club Mix* [P] Some good Morales remixes here, especially hopeful that the Revival Club Mix appears as it has only ever been available on a French promo-only 12" up until now.
