Re: The long awaited duets album (93,845) (93,862) by Warren from Trinidad & Tobago I thought the duets album we all secretly want would be new material with new artists (a la Streisand). She is a legacy artist as much as we don't want to admit it - a legacy artist that has brief viral moments or current relevance that people notice for a while. It's a tough gap to bridge. Re: Quick opinion poll (93,835) (93,858) by Billy from Greece The past few years I tend to find "I Stay in Love" somehow sale and soulless, though I don't mind at all listening to it when I play "E=MC2". Actually, when I played the album yesterday I was surprised that I enjoyed ISIL more than I thought I would. "You're Mine" is a different case for me. It has a different structure, not necessarily trying to duplicate the "We Belong Together" formula. It's quite dreamy, but not on the same league as her classic "dreamy" songs (f.i. "Underneath the Stars"). Likewise, when I played "Me. I Am Mariah" recently I was again surprised by how much I enjoyed YM. Regarding "Angels Cry", I find it very "pretty", if I can use that word for a song. I think it's very radio friendly, with a developed melody. What I've always [found] interesting is the praise that "Last Kiss" gets by Mariah, Quincy Jones, and fans. Again, I do enjoy the song but I think it's more intriguing from a songwriter's perspective. For instance, I find "For the Record" to be a superior track in many ways. But it's true that over the years we listen differently and can re-discover a song or even an album for what they are. (Wednesday 29 April 2020; 15:53)

Love Story - My number 1 fav from this album. Probably wouldn't have made an impact though. 3. Last Kiss - I just love this song (sorry, not sorry). 4. It's trying to be overly cool and just comes across as cheese. Don't get me started on T-Pain and the auto tune. I do think however if Mariah had released it, it would have had a strong chance at hitting number 1. So pleased the album is getting some much deserved attention and love. E=MC2 iTunes UK (93,848) by Will from England If you look at the top albums on the main chart iTunes UK, you can clearly see that it's mostly made up of compilation albums and older albums. Mariah isn't the oldest album on there by far since Nirvana, Jagged Little Pill and the Beach Boys are also very much present near the top of the chart. So for a ressuragnace now doesn't look too unusual. If it had happened outside of this whole lockdown and artists were still releasing new material, then yes it would look odd. But hey, let's celebrate this moment and see what happens next. Showbiz is just looking for a story because there is literally nothing else for them to talk about. (Wednesday 29 April 2020; 12:49)
