Mariah is slaying her All I Want For Christmas Is You tour.

Re: 360 next album MC please (91,479) (91,481) by B from USA
I hope Mariah continues to work with new collaborators on her next album while continuing to collaborate with Dev Hynes and some of the other writers and producers she worked with on Caution. I hope In The Mix is a sign of things to come. We need an uptempo lead single.

Article: "Caution" debuts at No. 1 on top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (91,480) by B from USA
Caution becoming Mariah's 8th #1 R&B is a moment worth commemorating.

360 next album MC please (91,479) by Bobby A from United States
I know the focus is Merry Christmas and getting AIWFCIY to number #1, but MC is going to have bring in 360 with her next album. That is the only way to go for MC after 30 years. What I mean is that is MC is going to have give fans the ballads like Love Takes Time, Mine Again and Lead The Way. She needs to give fans the pop jams like Fantasy, Someday and Dream Lover. I would love for her to work with Ryan Tedder, Jack Antonoff, Darryl "DJ" Camper, Disclosure, Chris Brown, and Pharrell for her next album. And we all would be elated for her to bring it full circle with Walter Afansieff and Ben Margulies in 2020. Her voice is sounding really good these days for her to sing 70 percent like she did 30 years ago. Just my thoughts for the next album after too much turkey and dressing today.

Re: O Holy Night (91,477) (91,478) by Bill from the UK
Agree, no one has ever sung it better and nobody ever will. Even my dad loves her rendition of it, and he can't stand her lol. I was playing it in the car when I was driving him home and he was like "I figured she'd sing this song well. She was made to sing songs like this" and I kind of agree with him. A voice like hers should be singing O Holy Night rather than "you're acting so corny like Fritos". We love life.

I agree Bill. I guess my standards aren't as high as some people. I don't expect to hear the studio record when she performs in 2019. I know that is not realistic. But, I still appreciate hearing O Holy Night during her Christmas shows, because her version of the song is my favorite version ever done of the song.

Mariah's Christmas concert performances (91,476) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Mariah's mantra for this Christmas seems to be - chile, if I'm gonna be gunning for that 19th #1 with my 25-year-old classic hit, I might as well be sounding great.

I mean seriously. I envy those who were and will be watching her series of concerts this December because many video footages of her performing show some of her best performances in years. She's reaching higher notes (nailing more of them than usual), belting and sustaining much better, whispering and cooing more clearly, showing improved vocal agility and just exuding a confidence and positive aura that hasn't shone as bright in the last few years.

The woman is consistently attempting the high notes in the melodies of AIWFCIY and Emotions, and she even sings The Star, CBC and CTIITAA live now. This is already a win in my book.

Re: O Holy Night (91,471) (91,475) by Salmon skin roll from Unagi
Mariah's voice is hardly in a good state. It's never sounded so strained and limited. It's the equivalent of listening to an old honky-tonk piano play Rachmaninoff - you may well recognise the concerto but the instrument isn't doing any of it justice.

Re: O Holy Night (91,471) (91,474) by Bill from the UK
I think because the studio version is absolutely perfect, anything else would seem inferior.

She should try to embrace the voice she still got and remake the song so she is able to sing it live.

Yes, I have Merry Christmas on vinyl, and it is divine

O Holy Night (91,471) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Mariah's voice is in a good state as of lately. I have seen plenty of videos from her last concerts, and what I don't understand is why she can't to do a decent live performance of O Holy Night. The high parts with out a doubt are lipped. Yes, she sang the hell out of that song when she was able to. But why can't she sing it like she can with her current voice, why must the song be so heavily lipped?

Johnta Austin (91,470) by Bobby A from United States
I am living back in Atlanta now. So today I met my favorite songwriter Johnta Austin at the gym. I shook his hand and told him that I am a huge fan of his songwriting. I am set for the rest of the week.

This song sounds so beautiful on vinyl. The whole album just has a beautiful "live in the studio" sound. Anybody else has pulled out Merry Christmas on vinyl?

Let's start a Twitter (social media) campaign.

Re: The Star live (91,457) (91,466) by B from USA
Definitely. I was hoping she was going to re-record for MC25 but at least it's a song she can perform live that sounds better than the studio version.

Caution (91,465) by B from USA
Caution is back on the R&B Album Sales chart this week at #22. It's definitely benefitting from AIWFCIY's popularity which is most likely what Epic assumed would happen last year. AIWFCIY is rising up the Hot 100 faster than ever before so Mariah just might score her 19th #1 this year.

Miss You Most (91,464) by ksquarred from paris
Hey lambs. Do you think we could somehow get Mariah to sing "Miss you most" someday? With a twitter campaign or signs at her concerts? She never sings it, and to me it's such an underrated song. The lyrics are so powerful.

Re: The Star live (91,457) (91,463) by Terna from Nigeria
You're right, it is indeed better than the studio version and it's completely live she ditched the background playback here. This put a big smile on my face and honestly I got chill when she hit the first chorus, with the way she turned back to look at her backup. Also her vocals here are much smoother than on the recording. I loved this song in 2017 when it dropped and I love it even more now. Thanks for sharing.

Guinness World Records (91,462) by Terna from Nigeria
Who needs the Grammy's when you're making and breaking Guinness World Records like Mariah just did? Now that's a powerful world record that's gonna last, hers is one of the last songs included and recognized as one of the holiday classics. It will be playing long after were all gone. All I Want for Christmas could just be Mariah Carey's signature song.

James Cordon taping (91,461) by Adam from Usa
Hi lambs. I was lucky enough to get tickets to the taping for James Cordon [sic]. I'm having a hard time deciding if I am going to go. I'm in Phoenix and the taping is in LA. About a 5.5 hour drive each way. Taping starts at 4 and ends at 8. So if I drive home it will be nearly 2 am. Any thoughts on going to these tapings? Never been to one and was wondering if all the driving would be worth it. Happy holidays everyone.

That's a great video and performance, love her interaction with her children at the end. It's so clear how much they all adore each other.

Re: BOTH (91,456) (91,459) by Bill from the UK
Completely agree, it is much better than the original, and I love the Jackson 5, but Mariah's voice, Trey, the fact it's live, and the atmosphere of the thing really do elevate it to a level that the original can't get to.
