I was trying to support your comment Terna. Sorry if my comment came out wrong. I too can't stand sarcasm. What's wrong with positivity. Keep on keeping on T.

Rainbow at 20 (91,283)

This album was fastest album Mariah has ever completed, it was completed in a three month period. ITV is probably considered the weakest of her 90's albums by fans and critics. But it still gave us two #1 singles, along with some great remixes, and some great collaborations. I love Crybaby featuring Snoop. I know that this particular era was some firsts as well working with Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, and Big Jim Wright (RIP) and her first album without her and Walter A working together. All in all Rainbow may not be the best body of work in MC's catalog of music but it gave us some cool moments.

The season has begun and this short remix is everything. I would love to see how the whole song would look. Both coinciding in different ways.

Where's my reply to the silly cartoon [censored]? It wasn't disrespectful in any way, but yet you chose not to post it, meanwhile his post to RJJ talking about wigs and to me talking about mascara and trying to call me "crazy" was blatantly disrespectful and borderline just hateful. You see Eric this is the problem you have, and others have also voiced on here multiple times; You're biased and your so called rules don't apply to everyone. Yes this may be your website, but we the ones who are the traffic are the life of this place, the least you could do is treat everyone equally with respect.

Rainbow isn't a favorite album of mine. But like any album that doesn't grab me as a whole, there are always songs she wrote that make me glad she released it. Heartbreaker is pure gold. CTTA wasn't a favorite until I attended the final night of her CB tour in Southern California. I was going through some stuff and that song just resonated with me and has remained a favorite ever since. The remix edit with David Morales is great. I like After Tonight. Typical ballad, nothing special, but still on my playlist. Petals is just sad. Man, this girl has gone through a lot and is still standing. Anyways, Carey on.

Of course I'm right. You think I've survived this long by being stupid, lol. I've hesitated to say anything. I love the concert. I love how raw it is. I love that we have it after 25 years of wondering. Is it perfect? No. Are there better performances of the song AIWFCIY out there? Yes. (See her duet with Michael Buble. Probably my all-time favorite live performance of that song.) All that is irrelevant. I'm a "do what feels right" kind of girl. If you love the CD, great. If you wished for more, great. The thing is there is a lot of good press going on right now. Let's build on it and get AIWFCIY where is belongs: #1.

Even though Rainbow is not held up there with the likes of Daydream and Butterfly, I guess the Heartbreaker Maxi Single and the "TGIFY (Make It Last) Remix" made up for it. I love "Heattbreaker both rap and non-rap versions equally. The US Heartbreaker Maxi Single didn't have the non-rap version, I had to get some assistance from Norway.

Hopefully MC will finally get her just due, to be induced into the 2020 songwriters hall of fame class, that would be so great to go along with the 30th anniversary of the debut album and era.

You're right, Stacey. I'm done estertaining crazy, so let's just focus on AIWFCIY. I love "AIWFCIY (Mariah's New Dance Mix Extended 2009) from the bonus CD. I hadn't listened to it before.

At age 42, it never ceases to amaze me what people will write behind the safety of a computer screen to people they have never met and probably never will. Stop all this unnecessary infighting and let's focus on getting AIWFCIY to number one. Focus people.

Haha no Licia I was speaking in general terms about how the moment someone makes a contrary comment either the labels of all negative bullies or mean girls or delusional all positive fans get thrown around and then a lot of times people hurl insults back and forth as if having an opinion wins some kind of contest or something. It's crazy. I enjoyed your post about the audio. I apologize my post referencing the other stuff at the same time was a bit confusing. Lol. Sometimes it's like come on it's just an opinion about some music. Is it really that big a deal? Lol.

I Stay In Love (91,262)
by Will from Australia
| |
|

I'm still shook but last night I was at a big nightclub in Melbourne with probably about 200+ people and one of the tracks that came on kept repeating a familiar line and I couldn't for the life of me pin it down. "I always thought that you would stay around" over and over and then finally it clicked and the whole of "I Stay In Love" was played, don't ask me what dance version it was but I ran around the place like it was Christmas. Now not only was I shocked that the DJ chose that song, of all of Mariah's songs (he didn't play another), but also by how many of the young crowd knew the lyrics etc, gagged.

Re: My Mariah Carey year - 1995 (91,260) (91,261)
by MusicfanJ from Germany

What an interesting topic. My Mariah year was also 1995. When I first heard "Fantasy" on the radio it was clear I had become a fan. That voice. Daydream was my first album of an artist. (I don't count a 93 Mixtape with Eurodance) lol. To watch "Fantasy" and "Always by my baby" on heavy Rotation on MTV, it was the best. I read every article I could find in teen magazines. Started to tape Interviews, specials on VHS. Now I feel a bit old. Honestly since then, every year was a Mariah year. But I will never forget how it all started.
