Mariah Carey posts TBT picture with Britney Spears (83,272)
by B from USA
| |
|
|
I'm sure Mariah is aware of the rumors that claim she's releasing a collaboration (duet) with Britney as her next single. Do I think this post was Mariah confirming the rumors or just trolling? Personallly, I could see this working Mariah sings the song in her lower registers and it's a well written song.

10 Songs Mariah Carey should add to her Vegas set (83,271)
by B from USA

I agree with adding Slipping Away, Butterfly, Breakdown, Close my Eyes, and Outside to the set list. I'd add The Roof, Whenever You Call, You're So Cold, Forever, and Petal to the list as well. I would go back to Vegas just to see her perform Slipping Away, lol. Or any of these songs, honestly.

Re: New album collabs (83,269) (83,270)

So it's a little off topic, but I would love to hear Mariah record the song, How Could an Angel Break My Heart, by Toni Braxton and Kenny G. She could have Toni record it again with her. That song fits in Mariah range, it's full of soul and emotions, it has that 90s sound to it, but with some updated sound it can easily sound perfect for a ballad in 2018. What do you all think? Have any of you heard that song before? Could Mariah do the song justice or should she stay clear away from that song?

New album (83,267)
by Bobby A from United States

MC always has an inspirational gospel type of song on her albums. So, I am just wondering has MC considered collaborating with Kirk Franklin, Greg Curtis, or Warryn Campbell for the new album. I am tweeted her about working with Kirk Franklin. She has been really quiet since the JD, Johnta Austin, and Bobby Avila Instagram post. Lambs, the album is coming this year. This Fall's music releases is going to be huge. Get ready for MC to shine again.

I always heard Mariah wrote and recorded the song for herself and her version still exists locked away somewhere in the vaults unreleased. It's a beautiful song that has Mariah written all over it even Faith's delivery I'm guessing is very close to the original. Hoping Mariah's version is unearthed someday soon.

Meet and Greet question (83,265)
by Seth M from South Africa

|
I have a meet and greet ticket for the Vegas show in September. I was wondering if anyone who has been to a meet and greet with Mariah, will be able to answer my questions. I want to know if I'm allowed to take a gift for Mariah and if I'm allowed to ask her to sign a CD. Please let me know and I will be eternally grateful.

Mariah and Pink duet would be perfect. I don't think it will happen, but anything is possible. I really feel Mariah has a lot of surprises in store for her 15th studio album. We don't have too much time left now.

Mariah plus Pink is a dream come true. But it's very unlikely. Pink is more into Madonna and Mariah is quite the opposite of what Pink is trying to associated with.

Pink (83,260)

Not sure Britney and Mariah should happen. Mariah can't dance and Britney can't sing. The music, the video and the promo performances would be a disaster methinks. I think Mariah should team up with Pink. They could hack out some vocals in the same register, it would be okay if they sounded rough as they would match and Pink is massively respected and effing cool.

I notice how lots of people now say shit I used to get lambasted for. Fall guy, much? One More Try is a song that should never have been covered. Mariah needs to be more haunting and soulful than that. I think she can do pop with layering, deep voice, soothing tone; it doesnt need to be another Memoirs. For haunting and soulful see: the whole Emotions LP, Music Box and All I've Ever Wanted, the whole Butterfly LP and so on. (Heaven forbid I should tell Mariah what to do, lest the Welsh one haemorrhages and needs a double therapy session.)

"One more try", really? Oof. She sounded like a chipmunk in that track. It was overproduced and was all over the place. Besides, she wouldn't be able to sing it live all the way to the end. She really should stop over tweaking her voice in her new songs, because she can't match the vocals live anymore.

I think that she have stayed with the "Art of letting go" theme. Hopefully with the new album she focuses on the quality of music versus the quantity of music.

One More Try? Please don't (83,252) (83,254)
by Edward from USA

I agree. Mariah's version of "One More Try" sounded as if she had been holding her pee for three days before that studio session. I love "One More Try", and had always dreamed of listening to it in Mariah's voice, but people must be careful what they wish for. She should've definitely given it "Six More Tries". Now I just pretend it never happened, just like "Crapfinity", "Infamous", and "She Didn't'. As for the new album, I hope she comes up with a short 10-12 tracks album. MIAMTEC would've been a perfect 10-11 tracks album. Tracks I removed from the album: "Thirsty", "Super Creepy", "One More Try (suffering)", "Heavenly", "Money" and all the bonus tracks minus "The Art of Letting Go".

Yes and yes to Slipping Away, Beakdown, Anytime You Need a Friend (C&C Club Version), One More Try, and Loverboy. Of course if I had my way I'd sprinkle in a few CB tracks. lol They picked some good songs. Slipping Away and Breakdown top my list though.

The song was written by Mariah as the lead writer. She was intending to sing it, but Mottola didn't want her singing for a rival company. She gave it to Faith, so it could be heard. Mariah did mention she was happy with Faith and said she did a good job.
