Re: Why 8th Grade? Butterfly marries TEOM (86,651) (86,706)

Okay since I have risen to power I have decided that Spain can stay on the internet. Wales, however, is wiped. Yours is often an objectively sensible opinion and doesn't come across as mental bullshit. The first half of Caution is good. Portrait is good. But OMG is "OMG" bad. Its Why-You-Mad-bad. It's so "cohesive" it's difficult to distinguish it from some of the other songs with no memorable lyrics, melodies or vocal moments that I wanna call "Side A", "Why You Good?" and "Side B" "Why You Bother?" But, hey, that's just my opinion and I am entitled to one apparently and it shall be heard and respected. I am going to Mariah's Christmas concert in London in December. Feliz Navidad.

Okay, Brandy's voice has changed significantly from when she first came out in 1994. She was only 15 at the time, so when we reference her singing when describing Mariah's current sound, we are not referring to girlish 1994 eponymous Brandy or 1998 Never Say Never Brandy. We're not even pertaining to more mature 2002 Full Moon Brandy or 2004 Afrodisiac Brandy. We're talking 2007 Human Brandy and 2012 Two Eleven Brandy, where her vocals have gone even deeper, she has lost over an octave of her range and her tone has become even raspier, darker and earthier, so when she multi-tracks her vocals, they manage to be warm yet cold at the same time, all while retaining her tone's unique edge. Listen to the entire Two Eleven album. Some of how her layered vocals sound there is how Mariah sounds now on her harmonies on some songs on Caution. That's where the comparison comes from.

Didn't Mariah sing like that before Brandy debuted? Please, explain exactly what a Brandy styled vocal/vocals sound like?

I never listened to it and have absolutely no desire to do so anytime soon. I'm just glad we're getting a Mariah Carey remix with resung vocals.

The Stereotypes, who produced Stay Long Love You, also produced Bruno's That's What I Like. I hope Mariah works with them again. I also think Stay Long Love You should be released as single.

Stop trying to make "signature sound" happen. It's not going to happen. You should be punished by listening to "What You Mad" for the rest of the day, but that would definitely kill you.

My only wish with Caution is that Mariah also worked with Mark Ronson. What he did with that Miley Cyrus song is nothing short of amazing. The title of it fits Mariah and Caution so much too. Ronson and Blood Orange on one album.

The fireflies line is so MC, doesn't she even sing about fireflies on Runway? To clarify this is my opinion and is not fact based. It's just based on listening to Mariah's albums for the last 23 years.

Article: The undying diva power of Mariah Carey (86,684)
by Lainsky from Philippines
| |
|
|
Not only that this article or interview is aptly titled but also, it is very honest and humble content as Mariah's responses. Truly, she has the undying power of a diva in its real sense of the word. Go Mariah, sing your heart out with what your heart says and not just by anyone tells through any medium, especially to the fans who can't get over of your younger self. It's either they love or hate the present you and I still adore you dear. So, care to release Caution, Giving Me Life and SLLY? Lol.

Correction. Most people love tracks 7, 8, and 9 as most posters have discussed their love for these songs since the album came out. They are among the most discussed on the board. So if the album fails that automatically means the songs lack quality? That's a less than smart defense for your point of view. Your view is the minority for most lambs regarding those tracks and no amount of propaganda or posts from you repeating the same thing is going to change that. But I'm sure you'll keep repeating yourself One Mo Gen.

Almost Home is not loved by non fans. You are reaching. It went no where on the charts and radio. Only lambs know that song and not all of us like it. Sounds like Siri is singing that song. OMG is lush and sorry that a lot of you never heard the term One Mo Gen as it's common to some of us. The piano intro until those lush backgrounds kick in along with the base line and chorus makes it instantaneously addicting. It's a perfect love song along with tracks 8 and 9. I imagine your bed is cold and empty. I can only imagine the blandness that is Almost Home being played for the poor soul that chooses you when your bar closes for the night. Mess.
