After a recording session (if everything is done), I don't mind if the artist will have a drink because the "project" is done and to celebrate it. But to drink cognac or whisky shots for a singer like Mariah just no. I mean she's not a Rock singer. That's pure poison for the voice. Even wine wouldn't be helpful. I can't understand that a professional is allowing this. A rapper or a producer might get no problems by taking some shots but a singer? It's just not good at all to be honest. What happened with that energy, I don't know. I think she just changed her style. In the beginning she used to have that "washing the windows" style, she called it like that haha. At first I attributed it to her shoulder problem but then again she still has her other arm. She seems quite robotic lately. I want to think and believe that her "With You" performance was live, as it does sound different from the original track, and that's the reason she played it safe. (Saturday 13 October 2018; 11:39)

She said at times she wasn't happy with her first album and she would wanted to change things over and over. She said once she hated some of her lives because she thinks after them "I could have done this different". Probably one of the reasons her early tour videos are dubbed. Right after the AMAs was a good time to do it but then she didn't. I'd rather have her drop the album out of nowhere to prevent leaks that may happen if she were to stick to a release date. I remember how MIAMTEC came out as a torrent more than 24 hours before its official release. When you don't sell as much as you used to, piracy becomes an even bigger issue for you. Announcing an album title or date of release gives enough hackers information to search for possible weaknesses in the record company's release strategy and intercept it. Still, Mariah should release it before the holidays officially kick in as that period isn't exactly favorable for most albums. (Saturday 13 October 2018; 10:55)

Not to mention the fact that Mariah could belt as good as most back in the day too. She was angelic on one hand and a beast when she needed to be on the other. There's never been a singer like 90s Mariah and there never will be. Yes, we'll have people influenced by her or who can do things similar to or like she has done, but they can never, nor will ever be able to have the repertoire, skill, or talent of Mariah. There's only one Mariah Carey. Don't ever get it twisted. Whitney could blow. So can Chaka, Aretha, J Hud, Patti etc. They are all amazing singers, but Mariah at her best is in a league of her own. A new era, a new Mariah (84,826) by Tijl from Belgium The more I listen to "With You", the more it grows on me. This happened many times before with every new Mariah single. The woman knows what she is doing. The layering of her voice and the sophistication of her songwriting and use of vocabulary is simply lost in the contemporary musical landscape. I stop comparing with her previous work and just enjoy what she is currently creating. The video is just beautiful. The Mariah I see is the woman I fell in love with years ago. A far cry from the empty eyed zombie during the reign of Stella. She is glowing and radiates a joy for life. As my BFF mentioned she oozes old Hollywood glamour with serious Marilyn Monroe vibes. She is still here and she gets noticed 28 years in her career. I don't think we'll know about Taylor Swift or Rihanna in 20 years. (Saturday 13 October 2018; 10:13)

Interestingly, her AMAs video performance has more views than the regular video, and if you add them up you get to the 1 million. She should've released it just before the AMAs. I used to study classical singing and my teacher also told me this. It can change your voice to be weaker, hoarser and less easily controlled. It does not always happen to a great degree and people and their bodies are all different, but it is a real thing. (Saturday 13 October 2018; 09:14)

For most of the people, there was no difference between the two versions but she was not happy with that fact. She's an obsessive perfectionist. Just like many other artists, e.g. Michael Jackson or Prince who were working on their material for years and were never 100% satisfied. I don't mean it is wrong, but this obsession with perfection makes her creative process difficult, she definitely needs some kind of advisor, like Tommy, to tell her when it's good enough. Her pre recorded National Anthem was done in two separate takes so that she sounded more powerful as told by one of the musicians in the studio with her. Also, Mariah and Whitney did go into the studio together to sing the last part of the song in tandem. Did she studio engineer those vocals too in front of the Voice? Lol. Here is proof of otherwise. Y’all want to make Mariah come off as some fraud all these years. And the vocals from Mariah are different in this video compared to what ended up on the record. I don't know any other singer on this planet with studio acapellas like the ones of Mariah. If I missed something, let me know. Whitney's voice always sounded like a powerful voice of a good singer. Mariah, on the other hand, sometimes sounds almost angelic and unreal. Soft, airy, rich, melismatic and her whistles, that blend so very well with most of her songs, took studio recordings to the next level. Even her backup singers, who were extremely talented, said in an interview back then, that they couldn't believe Mariah's voice was real. Mariah didn't start singing in a church, but started working in the studio when she was 14. Mariah is the queen of flawless studio vocals. I'm sorry, true story. We all heard plenty of singers singing "I will always love you" or "I have nothing" while sounding pretty good while I've never heard anybody singing "Hero" or "My all" the way Mariah could do it back in the day. Not one single person. Whitney Houston's studio vocals are Rolls Royce, but Mimi's a Bugatti. (Saturday 13 October 2018; 00:41)

New album (84,811) by Malcolm from Asia So I heard through The Mariah Report that With You is the weakest song from the album based on one of the host who attended the recent listening party. And it will be released on November 16, allegedly. By the way, I'm also obsessed with the hairbrush moment, always puts a smile on my face whenever I watch the video. Have a nice day lambs.
