Re: According to... (82,183) (82,188) by MusicfanJ from Germany
"Side Effects" is a great up-tempo. If PooBear produces something like it, wonderful. I read he produced "Caught up" by Usher. Also a very catchy tune. I just hope the album won't get too overproduced. And I agree it's a little bit early to be too positive or negative about a new detail musically. But I'll stay excited. New music from Mariah is needed.

Jay Z dragged in (82,186) by RibbonB from USA
This headline seems false. There is no reason for Jay Z himself to be dragged in. Certainly there may be an issue of who owes what to whom as a result of their split, but all the scandalous headlines are just mean on Stella's part. Hopefully Mimi and her team will ask for a proper accounting of the monies Stella owes to Mimi or that she has stolen from her. They could have severed ties quietly and professionally, but Stella is neither of those things. Mimi actually got off easy from her prior team which she and Stellar slandered. Interestingly, many of those people who quit or got fired depending on who you believe, have still wished Mimi well with her recent disclosure. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop on the remaining snake or two left in her camp.

Licia / according to...... (82,185) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Thank you everyone. Is so quick to dismiss the music or the person or people she is choosing to work with because they are not the people or person that they have suggested. Poobear has worked in both the pop and R&B genres with well known artists but he is also working with artists from different countries trying to break into the American music world. Also Walter A was an assistant producer and musician when he started working together with MC during the debut era, through their ability to create and the vibes that connected MC and Walter she and Tommy thought it would be a great idea to bring him on as a head producer during the Emotions album but he became her main producer with the Music Box album until they parted ways professionally after the creation of Butterfly.

Re: According to (82,181) (82,184) by Licia from USA
I agree. Let's just see what she comes up with before we hate it. I don't know who is this guy is, but I'm willing to give it try. For some anybody she works with that's black or not Walter Alka-Seltzer it's going to be an issue, but if the music turns out good it shouldn't matter. *shrugs*

Re: According to... (82,175) (82,183) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I had to laugh because of the name of the producer. What a funny name. Hmm I would prefer producers that are more "old-school" professionals with a grown-up rnb/soul vibe. I love "Feel it", an album with retro soul and some classic ballad would be my dream. Plus one or two in the style of "Fantasy". A catchy summer tune is always perfect when done by MC.

Looks like JP's ring is off in the extra pictures available. Let's hope it's permanent.

According to (82,181) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Calm down guys. Who is to say that all of these tracks will see the light of day, we still do not know anyone else she is working with so before we start being all in our feelings let’s just see how things turn out. There has been an uproar for an eternity about her and JD and their chemistry and sound has become dated among the fans. For me she can work with any producers whether high profile or brand new, it just be about making the best album possible. On another note she looks gorgeous in that red. Just my thoughts.

Re: New pictures, new look (82,179) (82,180) by RibbonB from USA
At least lately the ring is gone, but I have seen her manager dangling it off her middle finger like it's a wart. The red dress is cute and they've eliminated the customary diva chalice, so progress.

I always love her in red. Nevermind that red is a favorite color of mine, she just really looks so great in the color. Now about that thing hanging on her arm. I couldn't resist. I did so good yesterday. Lol.

"Called each other nicknames like SugarPlum and PooBear." A deep-into-Charmbracelet-era quote there. (IKR? the "Mariah hater" knowing Mariah shit. Whodda thunk it?) I haven't seen a picture of this PooBear guy but I bet you I could blind draw a pretty precise one. Same shit, different era?

New pictures, new look (82,176) by Tijl from Belgium
The pictures that popped up on the internet are really promising. Mariah is seen leaving a restaurant in West Hollywood and she looks stunning. No tacky cleavage are unbecoming short hemline but a classy yet feminine silhouette that flatters her curvy shape. This is what a superstar looks like .

Kelis interview (82,173) by RibbonB from USA
Wow, this explosive interview today on "Hollywood unlocked" on YouTube. Shame if true about Nas being physically and emotionally abusive. I tend to believe her, as she has been so private about her divorce and life in general. I wonder if this news will affect his career. He sure has some explaining to do.

Re: According to... (82,171) (82,172) by Chicago Lamb from USA
Hoping for great music. Hope this doesn't turn out like another "the Dream" Memoirs album. I don't think Memoirs was bad, it just wasn't commercially viable. Mariah has a lot of control over her music and God bless that. But, we need a fresh approach and someone else calling the shots in the studio. Jay-Z, I hope you're keeping your office door open during these sessions. Sh*t better be right.

D.R. King (82,169) by Dove from United States
I forgot to mention D.R. King is not in the competition anymore but I hope he still makes it as a recording artist after The Voice. Actually, D.R. would have sang I Am Free really well too, maybe better than Kyla would have.

Re: 5 Songs that would be #1 if resung/reimagined (82,168) by Dove from United States
I've been watching The Voice this season (because I love Kelly Clarkson's personality) and I'm really impressed with D.R. King and Kyla Jade. I would live to hear Kyla Jade sing I Am Free or Make It Look Good and D.R. King sing Lead the Way. Also, It's A Wrap for Kyla Jade.

Re: 5 Songs that would be #1 again if resung/reimagine (82,159) (82,167) by RibbonB from USA
I have always thought of only one Mimi song covered by another, that is Don't forget About Us. I used to imagine it covered by a soulful male country artist. I still see that, but would love to hear a Childish Gambino cover. He has an amazing, spot on cover of Tamia's "So Into You" on YouTube. He would slay DFAU. I'm looking forward to Donald Glover hosting SNL next week with Childish Gambino as a musical guest.

I can't see or hear anyone but Mariah singing her songs. However, I do love Tori Kelly. She should have won the Best New Artist Grammy that was awarded to Meghan Trainor. I could see her covering If It's Over or And You Don't Remember. I also love Kelly and I think she did an excellent job covering Always Be My Baby. I'd love to hear Marah's take on Kelly's song Beautiful Disaster.

Re: New album title (82,152) (82,165) by B from USA
Agreed. Imagine Mariah writing a song like Side Effects or Breakdown over one of The Weeknd's dreamy hypnotic beats. Mariah make it happen.
