Re: Promo plan (84,565) (84,584) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines I meant dropping the album right at the very moment she announces it right after her performance, because although people know she has an album coming up, they don't know the exact release date. It'll be like a semi-Beyoncé move, as the public isn't exactly unsuspecting and it's Mariah that announces its release live. Sure, breaking the internet is an exaggeration and is unlikely, but it would be nice if Mariah just released the album right then and there as a surprise. This is the only high-profile promotional stint she has so far that we know of (and I doubt she'll have any events/guestings bigger than this in 2018, save for NYE if she does it again) so she might as well milk this opportunity, especially since Dick Clark productions has just partnered with YouTube Music to expand the global reach of the show. Besides, doing the traditional way of announcing release dates increases the possibility for early leaks and the album would have already been spoiled come the actual drop. Then I also realised the magic of Mimi. She can literally make any silly lyrics sound so pretty. Imagine what she'd do if she went back to writing poetically instead. She could have made With You an even stronger song had she tackled the subject matter with more universally appealing lyrics instead of narrating the Bryan Packer saga almost so literally. The We Belong Together video fits this song like a glove. I'd rather her repeat a similar storyline for a video than beauty shots of her singing the song all over LA. Fingers crossed. (84,582) by Bobby A from United States With You is catchy for a car ride to the grocery store, but it rather boring to listen to over and over. Listening to Steve Perry's new album Traces on the way to the gym made me realize that he may have just released the best album of 2018 and Mariah has given us less than what she is capable of yet again. Some parts of the song are fun, but the composition relies too much on cliches, song name checking, alcohol marketing and rehashed melodies. Mariah needs a My All for 2018. Now My All was MC at her best. At this point, the AMAs will not save With You from the disaster that is about happen next week. Radio is going to pass again on another Mariah song. Ed Sherran and MC should spend 5 nights this month locked in a studio until she can come up with songs like My All, Butterfly, Close My Eyes, We Belong Together, and Mine Again. We probably won't see MC15 this year. Just my thoughts after a week of a high reaction and loving it feeling to a major disappointment now. (Tuesday 9 October 2018; 09:59)

ENews Mariah Carey and JLo to perform at AMAs (84,579) by 123 from USA And it begins. So every once and a while I listen to With You even though the addictive GTFO still gets the most play of her new songs, but it's becoming more catchy. I love the pre chorus. So I've decided I'm going to work on being more supportive. This roll out would have never happened a year ago around this time. Just look at pictures of her last September compared to today, just saying. Things have definitely turned around for the better. I hope she does a great job tomorrow. I need to hear this album. AMAs (84,576) by Bill from the UK I think these are cute ideas about Drake showing up for the remix of With You, or MC announcing and releasing (sorry, "dropping") the album instantaneously as a surprise, but, who are we kidding? Let's be realistic. She will stand there, statuesque, breasts on display, high heels on, and lip the entire song, fidgeting with her diamond encrusted ear piece the whole time (or giving cues to the sound guys that the pre-record is to kick in, whatever you make of it), and yell out "eh" a couple of times. She will then be hoisted off the stage back to the dressing room so she can down another bottle of Caymus and overdo the shots of Remy. The circus is back in town. (Tuesday 9 October 2018; 06:45)

I need help (84,575) by Edward from USA I can't seem to shake the lyrics "it was waaaaar..." and "he said, Yooooo..." out of my head. She harmonizes those lyrics so beautifully, I can't. They sound so pleasing to the ear. I actually think that given the right push, Mariah might have a slow burner under her skirt with this one. They built it up too much and people were not as taken by it as they were themselves. Silly though because the video, radio airplay and some promo would help it sell. The video looks liks it's a more artistic version of the typical Mimi videos of late. Strange that she keeps teasing the video but isn't even announcing its release date. Maybe they're working on something like a remix to save it. I don't think for a second that Drake is going to put himself on this song. Everything hangs on the AMAs performance tomorrow. Like real time. It would be like a Beyoncé release, but announced on live broadcast (unless she lips the announcement as well, haha, kidding). It would be an unexpected but welcome move. Promo plan (84,560) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter So I think I've already made it clear that I love the song and it's been a few days and I still have it on repeat, however, I am curious as to what exactly is Mariah's promo plan with the song? She must have been really confident about it to release it as the lead single (and I'm saying lead with emphasis) that too only 3 weeks after she released a new song. She also made it abundantly clear that GTFO was a buzz single and WY is the lead, so I'm curious that why is this song being ignored. Apart from the AMAs performance, we know of no other promotional plan like TV interviews/musical guest appearances, or any other form of press releases/interviews. She has been teasing the music video but is yet to release it. She will be out on international tour soon, so when exactly will the promo kick in? I just read on UKMix, someone was theorizing (one can call it "reaching for it") that maybe Mariah is holding off on the video because she will premier a remix with Drake at the AMAs, and then release the video with Drake. Now if this becomes true, it will be a brilliant move on Mariah's part and I'm here for it. Any of you have any idea about what could Mariah's strategy possibly be? Because no matter how big a bubble Mariah lives in, I don't think she's that daft to think she can top charts or get exposure for her song without any solid promo. (Monday 8 October 2018; 20:38)
