Yes Mara, the bridge is everything. The prettiest whispers on that song. Speaking of wedding songs I loved yours. Endless Love.

Welcome Reuben (81,011) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Welcome to the message board. I hope you enjoy it here. I did chuckle at Edward’s humor, but it had nothing to do with wanting to single anyone out. Some of us have been here on the site since 1822 so it is easy for us to make jokes. Enjoy yourself.

Re: Stripped versions of Mariah's gems (81,004) (81,010) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Oh how could I forget Petals and Close My Eyes. Since it is online, I listen almost every day to the Close My Eyes version. It's so relaxing and dreamy. If there's an official cd, I would immediately buy it. One cd with stripped versions, and the other with live songs and never released songs. One can only dream, I know.

Always Be My Baby plus other classics? (81,009) by CDC from CA
It really looks like ABMB has entered the upper tier of bullet proof Mariah classics. It's gotten so much love in the last decade. What are the songs that worldwide consensus has determined are Mariah's classics? The songs that anyone in the world would recognize as a classic that extends beyond Mariah's fanbase and holds up to the catalogue of any other artist? All I Want for Christmas Is You, Hero and Without You are default classics and in my experience of attending Mariah Carey concerts the two songs (besides Hero) that always excites the most crowd participation are ABMB and I'll Be There (which I've always enjoyed hearing everyone sing the original MTV Unplugged inflections over Mariah's live ad-libbing).
Here is my list of Mariah's most recognized songs in relative order based on humble biased subjective opinion, charts and YouTube anecdotal evidence (TV show covers):
All I Want for Christmas Is You
Hero
Without You
Always Be My Baby
We Belong Together
I'll Be There
Fantasy
Emotions
Vision of Love
My All
Heartbreaker

I was just asking. No need to apologize. I think our fellow board members would be better able to reply to you if you copied and pasted the message you are commenting on if it isn't recent. Just a suggestion. Nice to meet you.

Our minds work differently (81,006) by Haiji Toro from USA
Hello all. I just wanna state a couple things, feel free to skip if uninterested. Please people, let's not indulge in bullying out of fun. We all do things differently. What I can imagine is a lonely person, with a lot of time in their hands. Some of us travel, others listen to music, some read. Maybe MCArchives is his book? Maybe this site is the only family he can speak to about his feelings? Yes, I agree, why not just read them all and then post about them all in one or a couple posts? That would probably save the Webmaster some time with job, I'm just saying. Don't get me wrong, I'm all down for fun and jokes and sarcasm (I truly have love for you, Andrew, you are the truth, a little less negative feeling with it, I promise, they will get it one day).

Re: Stripped versions of Mariah's gems (81,002) (81,005) by Licia from USA
Those stripped versions and acapella mixes are giving me like. I've never been a big fan of Outside or Looking In, but the stripped versions made me start enjoying them. They are also making me play songs that I haven't really listened to in a while like UTS. If I had to pick a favorite, ABMB (the stalker love song lol) is it.

Mine's a cross of Petals, UTS, Close My Eyes and ISB. Honestly they're so good.

Can’t Let Go is beautiful, but my fave is Underneath the Stars.

Stripped versions of Mariah's gems (81,002) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I can't stop listening to those "stripped versions". The originals are all fantastic and definitely fan favorites. But somehow the versions on YouTube bring new life to the songs, there are notes I never heard on the originals. What's your favorite? Mine are "Can't let go", "Anytime you need a friend", "Fourth of July" and "Outside".

Re: Toni Braxton - Long As I Live (80,963) (81,001) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Love, Marriage & Divorce was gold. A classic for both Babyface and Toni Braxton. Reunited and The D Word are gorgeous songs. I hope Mariah gets less allergic to sung duets in general, especially with another female artist, and make a duets album in the future.

Finally, someone who thinks the same. Always Be My Baby is the creepiest song Mariah has ever written if you really think about it. But the melody and production makes the cocky, smug lyrics sound sweet and even innocent. But still, it's not as creepy as my favorite, the ultimate stalker anthem of all time, Morrissey's The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get. That ups the creep factor and is just some weird, psychopathic, restraining order-filing stuff wrapped in a great melody.

Mariah and Whitney Oprah special (80,999) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I always loved this tv-special. When they sang together it was pure magic. This song gets me everytime. I'm just speechless about so much power and beauty in one room. Someone mentioned how Mariah must feel since Whitney's passing. (To be one of the few living legends must be very hard sometimes.) I do believe it changed something inside of her. The current music by "today's singers" seems boring to me. I'm always "shocked" if I watch the charts on deluxe music tv. So I'll enjoy some real good music with heart and soul on it. Guess who?

Thank you for sharing this. I didn't realise she's recording new stuff. I'm in love with Long as I Live and I love everything you said about it. I hope this can be her WBT. Toni is one of the most underrated artists out there. Yet her talent is unmatched.

Mariah's bangs have been giving 1997 vibes. She looks amazing in the Valentine Day pics sje shared and Brian looks hot with that strategically placed towel lol. She needs to release an amazing song asap.

Ruben, you don't have to quote every post you're replying to, just the old ones, as in posts made in 1844 and beyond.

Re: Reuben Walton (80,986) (80,988) by Edward from USA
Reuben, so you've actually never been to a real messaboard before? OK, you should just know that we here at MCArchives don't do this a lot, so this is, like, a really huge deal. We wanna invite you to post without making any references every day for the rest of the week. Just remember that everybody here when they post on Wednesdays they wear pink. If you need a pink shirt, there's a lovely member here who could lend you one, his name is B, but you have to give the pink-shirt back. Last time we did this, Andrew didn't return the pink-shirt back and now everybody hates him.
