Re: Our minds work differently (81,025) (81,028) by Andrew from UK
Quod erat demonstrandum? Hah. Lookup "irony" next? Or even "banter". So the next time Mariah does a mocking British RP or Cockney accent should she be castigated for racial discrimination if discrimination is simply making a distinction now rather than treating less favourably, and seemingly not mattering if the distinction was intended to be funny or dry-humoured? Go water your high horse before it wakes up GG. Sometimes I don't know how some people get out of bed in the morning, let alone make it through the day. Your world must be so bland. I made a joke to Reuben about it being quiet up on Walton Mountain and he apparently saw the humour in it. But Social Justice requires you to tell him to be offended and try to force apologies from people. You won't get one from me. Go back to bed. It's safer there.

Girl, me too. Love this performance, I was blasting it out of my car today. I've put in my bio how much I love this song. In my opinion it's one of her best, should've been a single.

Mariah Carey: Just Be Good To Me (from Japan) (81,026) by Licia from USA
I was watching this performance and I was so taken aback at how wonderful it is. I've seen her perform this song before on another one of her tours (not sure which one, it could possibly be from the same tour, but a different location), but I wasn't as impressed with the other performance as I am with this one. Everything I need in a performance was there. I already love this song, but this performance really brought the song and Mariah to life in my eyes. I was doing the little "I can't really dance, but I'm going to try anyway" two step with Mariah.

Wow first bullying now race discrimination. No wonder Mariah has so much inspiration to write message songs for her lambs.

ABMB was a shockingly brilliant popsong. And it had such a brilliant free-spirit-of-youth video. But it's so overdone I couldn't bear to hear it again.

Reubward (81,023) by Andrew from UK
If Reuben turned his head slightly to the left and made his background blue, I'm pretty sure he would be Edward's avatar. Suggest they are the same person.

I can well understand why someone from Japan would have to Google a definition for humour. Lighten up, you uber-PC snowflake.

Mimi L is probably still celebrating that she no longer has to empower her highlighter.

I think the board needs more humor and Lee can all lighten up a bit and enjoy ourselves. By the same token, although he's not a new member, clearly joining in on discussions and posting messages wasn't routine. Maybe some of the humor got misconstrued for some. I hope it never gets to the point here where we can't be silly and have some laughs, because that would suck. Lol.

Hi Mike, I don't know if they're official. They sound official, but I can imagine they were put together from acapella versions and other official versions. I wonder as well if they're "only" fan-made or official? Either way I won't miss them anymore.

I appreciate your message, Edward. I get what you mean. I honestly didn't read the other messages, for I'm sure I would have gotten the "Mean Girls" jokes, so my apologies for being easily triggered. I think it was mainly due to me automatically putting myself in his place and remembering that feeling of being the butt of jokes to other. I do enjoy your humor when I do get to read your posts, so please don't get me wrong. Like I've stated before, I do appreciate good jokes and silly sarcasm. Please don't stop being who you are nor change for anyone. You're definitely one of very few that put a smile on my face with your posts.

Let's see how google define bullying: use superior strength (knowledge of this message board) or influence (familiarization with other members) to intimidate someone (newcomer), typically to force them to do something (answering random questions). Let's see how google define joking: talk humorously (nil).

I think you stole the "ain't that deep" line from me, lol. I've used that line more times than I can count.

Reuben is not new to the messageboard. I don't support nor condone bullying or bigotry, but we shouldn't be that sensitive in light of lighthearted jokes. I don't know if you noticed, but some of the messages I posted towards Reuben are lines picked up from Mariah's favorite movie "Mean Girls". Some people shouldn't be so touchy or we're going to have to walk on eggshells here. The messageboard tend to be sometimes boring and repetitive or sometimes the mood is kind of dark. Let's joke a little, let's be silly a little, let's not take shit so seriously. It ain't that deep. I might not agree with some posts in here, but I do appreciate everybody here. I don't want to be part of anything where everybody thinks like me. It would be boring as hell. And I know this is going to come across as bullying, forgive me, but "Migrate" should've been a single.

Welcome Reuben (81,011) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Welcome to the message board. I hope you enjoy it here. I did chuckle at Edward’s humor, but it had nothing to do with wanting to single anyone out. Some of us have been here on the site since 1822 so it is easy for us to make jokes. Enjoy yourself.

Oh how could I forget Petals and Close My Eyes. Since it is online, I listen almost every day to the Close My Eyes version. It's so relaxing and dreamy. If there's an official cd, I would immediately buy it. One cd with stripped versions, and the other with live songs and never released songs. One can only dream, I know.

Always Be My Baby plus other classics? (81,009) by CDC from CA
It really looks like ABMB has entered the upper tier of bullet proof Mariah classics. It's gotten so much love in the last decade. What are the songs that worldwide consensus has determined are Mariah's classics? The songs that anyone in the world would recognize as a classic that extends beyond Mariah's fanbase and holds up to the catalogue of any other artist? All I Want for Christmas Is You, Hero and Without You are default classics and in my experience of attending Mariah Carey concerts the two songs (besides Hero) that always excites the most crowd participation are ABMB and I'll Be There (which I've always enjoyed hearing everyone sing the original MTV Unplugged inflections over Mariah's live ad-libbing).
Here is my list of Mariah's most recognized songs in relative order based on humble biased subjective opinion, charts and YouTube anecdotal evidence (TV show covers):
All I Want for Christmas Is You
Hero
Without You
Always Be My Baby
We Belong Together
I'll Be There
Fantasy
Emotions
Vision of Love
My All
Heartbreaker

Our minds work differently (81,006) by Haiji Toro from USA
Hello all. I just wanna state a couple things, feel free to skip if uninterested. Please people, let's not indulge in bullying out of fun. We all do things differently. What I can imagine is a lonely person, with a lot of time in their hands. Some of us travel, others listen to music, some read. Maybe MCArchives is his book? Maybe this site is the only family he can speak to about his feelings? Yes, I agree, why not just read them all and then post about them all in one or a couple posts? That would probably save the Webmaster some time with job, I'm just saying. Don't get me wrong, I'm all down for fun and jokes and sarcasm (I truly have love for you, Andrew, you are the truth, a little less negative feeling with it, I promise, they will get it one day).

Those stripped versions and acapella mixes are giving me like. I've never been a big fan of Outside or Looking In, but the stripped versions made me start enjoying them. They are also making me play songs that I haven't really listened to in a while like UTS. If I had to pick a favorite, ABMB (the stalker love song lol) is it.

Mine's a cross of Petals, UTS, Close My Eyes and ISB. Honestly they're so good.
