Re: Ages? (75,313) (75,354) by Capri_ from China
I'm 21 years old, I started to follow Mariah when I was about 7 years old by the time she came to Shanghai to hold the concert. That's the first time I know how the western white woman looks like (blonde hair, big eyes, long legs and also high note ) when I didn't even know how to say English. After Mariah finished her concert in Shanghai, I learned that Whitney Houston will follow her and also hold a concert in Shanghai. At that time I asked my mum she likes Mariah or Whitney? Her answer is Whitney but I didn't tell her that I was more interested at that white blonde hair beauty Mariah Carey at that time.

Is it bad that I imagine Randy and Andrew as this really cute couple? All of their posts bickering about Right To Dream is just so adorable I just can't, I can't with this. I ship Randrew.

Chris Cornell (75,351) by Mara from United States
On a side note, it is sad we lost a pioneer in the 90's music scene in Soundgarden's/Audioslave's Chris Cornell. Aside from my love for MC, I always adored Soundgargen and Chris. If anyone here isn't familiar with him or his voice, aside from his Soundgarden, he did his own tribute to MJ when he passed with Billie Jean and Prince with Nothing Compares To U and even Whitney with I Will Always Love You. He was a talent that will be missed. He also was one of the few male singers that had a four octive vocal range. Speaking of ages, he is one that "our age group" will miss.

Ok ok, 41 "ouch" Mariah has done this to me as she is "eternally 12" side eye. But if you don't feel it, look it or whatever it then it's ok. Wish Mariah embraced her age as she looks phenomenal and it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Randy I like Right To Dream as well. The vocals are natural and its stripped down. The song I don't like that a lot of lambs do is Almost Home. The vocals sound altered I couldn't recognize her in the beginning. I never saw the hit potential, and I still think I Don't could have charted better with some actual promo.

Poor ticket sales (75,347) by Tyler from USA
I can believe the tickets sales are poor for the "All the hits" tour. I think these two together is a horrible combination. The fan bases are drastically different. I am 29 and cannot name one of his songs and have no desire to hear him. I've spoke to other fans who feel the same about his music with all due respect. I will probably leave after MC. Since this isn't MC tour she will stick to the same list we've heard for over 20 years (ABMB, My ALL, Hero). She can't get too risky and sing album cut songs when half the audience isn't her fanbase. John Legend is on tour and that would of been so much better. Honestly, I wish they cancel the tour so MC can get to studio and work on this album.

It's a lot of oldies here. So when Sheila starts talking about old, miserable fans she's talking about a good majority of our old a**es. Lol.

I'm 37 and my favorite song, Right To Dream. Shut up and Andrew and Edward. My favorite album is Butterfly and my favorite #1 is My All. The other artists I hold in esteem are Patti Labelle and Whitney Houston for live vocalists and for songwriting Sarah MC, Jewel and Lauryn Hill.

I can't believe it too. This song is pure magic, never heard so much emotion in one song. And I love the voice of Will Downing, he gives really an extra bonus to this wonderful song.

All I want this Christmas (75,337) by Tijl from Belgium
Will a dvd of the Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour ever see the light of day? There must be tons of usefull footage that ended up on the cutting room floor while they created the atrocious Mariah's World. Miss Orloff or whatever your name is, get to work as a proper manager of this legendary songbird and give the fans something that can be cherished. A professional and properly edited registration of the last tour in the style of the Adventures of Mimi. Something to enjoy while we await new music. Am I asking for the moon and the stars here? Not really.

Age / signature song (75,334) by Pablo from Spain
I'm also 35. The message board has had various discussions on what Mariah's signature song is, and every time it has been decided that she has had various signature songs and no one song can be called it because she's had so many that could pass for it, unlike Whitney or Celine which is really obvious.

Re: Signature song (75,329) (75,333) by B from USA
In America Always Be My Baby and Hero are her most played songs on the radio followed closely by We Belong Together. Unfortunately, most people think it's a classic that she covered. When I tell people that she wrote it they're like no she didn't, it's a Phil Spector classic from the 60's. When I prove that she wrote it, it changes their opinion of Mariah. Most think she's like Celine and Whitney, an interpreter of other peoples songs.

Re: The industry (75,107) (75,330) by B from USA
Infamous wasn't released as a Mariah Carey single. It was released as the Empire Cast featuring Mariah Carey. Was the Why You Mad remix ever actually released? I don't remember. It was forgettable and uninspired and no one outside of the Lambily heard it thankfully. #Beautiful, You're Mine (Mine), Infinity, and I Don't are the only songs Mariah's released in the last three years that the public have heard. I think the warm reception to I Don't has caused Epic to have some faith in Mariah. If she interpolates a great sample into her next single and looks all hot tamale in a great video she can make another comeback. She needs to write simple poetic lyrics like she used to. She should do so and call her next album Back to Basics.
