Re: Rainbow tour live in Los Angeles (78,797) (78,812) by Andrew from UK
There's no actual link there. Where's this review? However, I saw Mariah in London for the first time on the Rainbow tour (clearly not pushing it, like Bill), a year after seeing Whitney cracking it up on stage, in fact. The Rainbow tour was some sort of theatrical joke unbefitting a star of Mariah's calibre. I remember watching it wondering how I didn't get to see something akin to the Daydream tour. My brothers took me. Because I made them. A boxing match? Backing track half the volume of the live vocals? Live vocals strained to remain within one octave? Even they said it was an unprofessional mess. Rainbow was an album with PR that befitted the music scene at that time. The tour was shite. Whitney's My Love Is Your Love tour put the Rainbow tour to shame. All we saw was a silly girl on stage trying to duoe everyone. Thankfully, her tours went back to being less self indulgent after that.

I loved this too and it would make a great song and I’m sure a lot of other people would love it, she should make it a single.

Re: Mariah Christmas (78,804) (78,810) by Licia from USA
Like Billy said this is from 2008. I really enjoyed this performance because I don't think she has ever performed this song live (correct me if I'm wrong and point me to where I can see these performances lol). This is one of my favorite songs from the Christmas album. Such a classic and she brought new life to the song. Before her remake I hadn't really listened to the song since I heard it on the movie Gremlins from the 80's.

Re: Rainbow tour live in Los Angeles (78,801) (78,809) by Bill from the UK
Thanks, I'm so pleased I saw her during her prime, though she was so good back then it was sort of taken for granted. Had I known she'd lip 90% of her material from the next tour onwards, I guess I would have appreciated it all the more. The concert is in my top ten best days of my life. When she started singing Emotions, I just burst into tears because I couldn't believe she was there in front of me. Not only that, but seeing the larger than life backing singers and the band who were on her concert videos... it was so surreal to me. She also sang most songs in a higher key than the studio version which was amazing. Hero went down massively with the crowd. She was professional, funny, poised, graceful and gone with the wind. What a night.

I would have loved to be a new Mariah fan because it would have given me the opportunity to discover plenty tracks, remixes and performances for like a good year and more lol.

Mariah Christmas (78,804) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I know it's a bit early but I'm already listening some MC Christmas songs. They just make me happy. I found this and can't believe that she looks exactly like in the Daydream era. Was it 2006? So beautiful. This is the look. Just wow. This is her classy style she needs to bring back for the upcoming Christmas concerts.

Definately. Love the way she plays with the mike stand like she's undressing a man. Have a great w-e Terna.

Wow, that's exactly how I felt about "Make It Happen" before I watched her perform it live on VH1 Divas Live too. I truly never cared for the song nor its numerous remixes until that performance easily the best that night, but I was also nervous with all the jumping around on stage. Haha. Another song I didn't get until I watched her sing it live was "Dreamlover" around the same time but on her world tour the performance in the "Around The World" DVD.

Bill you lucky one. I'm still a bit sad that I couldn't go to the Daydream concert. In Frankfurt it was completely sold out in 2 or 3 days. I also love the fan made videos from this tour. She was like an angel/princess that seemed not from this world. The Rainbow tour is special too. I like the colorful costumes and that she was making fun all the time. Bianca is legendary.

Re: Rainbow tour live in Los Angeles (78,796) (78,800) by Bill from the UK
I saw her at the London concert. I also saw her London Daydream concert so, for me, Rainbow wasn't as great as Daydream was. The skits were good fun though. I remember a boxing match between her and Bianca, and a beauty pageant etc. It was a fun night but didn't compare to how awestruck I was at Daydream.

Rainbow tour live in Los Angeles (78,796) by Philipp from Switzerland
This fan recorded audio of the Rainbow tour concert in Los Angeles surfaced. It’s quite a good quality. I’m totally obsessed with the Rainbow tour, I think this was her most creative show. I love the skits with Bianca. And the setlist is amazing. I still believe/Pure Imagination (only time she performed that one live), TGIFY/Make It Last, Crybaby, Close My Eyes, Petals and CTTA. I'm in heaven. I so wish I could have gone to the Rainbow tour. Any members here that saw her live in that area and can share their experience?

I fell in love with Mariah's lives (78,795) by Edouard from France
When I first heard the Divas Live version of Make it Happen. They played it over Christmas time 1998 in France and there was no internet at the time. It was the first time I saw Mariah move basically (other than in the videos). I fell in love instantly. It's funny because Mariah's voice has been so criticized for years but when I think about it I've always loved the fact that her live versions are somewhat different than the studio version. I remember when I first heard the Divas Live rendition of MIH I was somewhat confused because it sounded so much different than on Emotions. Yet I thought it was genius. The same happened to me with the Hero rendition she gave right after 9/11. Her voice was tired, but so passionate and I fell in love with a song that I never used to listen to (the album version is too schmaltzy for me).

Somehow I missed this. Have you seen it? I can't believe how good this is, it should be on a cd. I've always loved her live improvisations. They are so special and pure MC.

Even better when they go the projection route, as if we're not clearly seeing a trend in poor actions and decisions.

He is so cute. He and Roc do look a lot alike but I'm not surprised. Roc always looked like Nick to me. All of the kids look a lot like Nick and Beth to me. And if Nick don't stop deleting ish lol. I think it's his way of compromising staying off IG while still giving the fans pics.

I'm loving it. And I'm still tickled over the posters who came out of the woodworks when I called out the goober for the loser that he was first time around. Never post about Mariah any other time but had the time to stand up for a loser who wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire. I love it.

I love it more when they pull the trump card in an argument, the trump card being "you guys are old and jealous".
