Comeback (77,334) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
As someone who also entertains crazy, implausible ideas from time to time, I'm not completely shooting this one down, but are we really supposed to believe that all of this bullcrap that has been going on over the last 3 years has been part of some elaborate plan to stage Mariah's comeback? This period has professionally been the worst throughout her entire career and as much as I would like to think that this mess has been a deliberate effort by her team for Mariah to have something to come back from, I really don't think Stella is that smart. Highly unlikely. Way too much damage has been done and Mariah has lost probably at least half of her core fanbase in the process. So far Stella's biggest accomplishment as a manager is that she was able to somehow convince Mariah to become one of the things she has once hated - a reality star. And not even the good, entertaining kind. So I guess I should take back what I just said and admit that Stella may be smart after all. *shudders*

Do You Think of Me (77,333) by Billy from Greece
I was listening to the great Teena Marie and Rick James's duet "The Once And Future Dream" from the late 1980s and its mood brought to mind Mariah's aforementioned wondrous b-side. Such a stunning piece of music.

I genuinely believe you are just trolling everybody Terna. Nobody can be that delusional.

It's a plan (77,331) by B from USA
I've heard and read countless times that Mariah creates conflict. However I highly doubt she has a plan. Or that Stella has a plan. Mariah needs to presented as a private music icon. She's not a reality star. She needs to focus solely on music and stop with the tv ventures. Mariah's legacy is secure it's her change at a comeback that's at stake. I would hate for her storied career to end with a string of disappointments. I'm hoping for the best with her upcoming Starz series. I hope Mariah and Stella only finance. I hope they do a good job casting Mariah. The casting of the actors, especially the actress playing a young Mariah. This casting will make or break this series. If the actress doesn't have talent it's dead.

Terna, I appreciate that you see the good in bad situations but seriously? You really believe this is a plan? Come on now. It's very likely a "new" Mariah will indeed emerge in a few months, but that won't be because "this was planned to stage a comeback". It will probably (and Lord I pray it happens) because the bubble she's put herself in has burst, she finally realized what a mess her career has been for a while now and finally decided to take the right steps (hire a professional team, a good PR personnel, a smart manager, a vocal coach, a stylist). As for her weight, either ways, if she has a album coming out, she'll lose her weight before that because she does it before big promotions, it's nothing new. So no, while it is very likely possible that she'll have a career comeback, she'll drop weight and she'll slay her performances, it won't be because all these (the mess and the fails) have been due to some master plan, it will only be because Mariah will finally wake up.

Re: I don't have a subject (77,323) (77,329) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
That photo is probably from her last run at Vegas, not this one. Because the hair and all is different. I mean it is likely from one of the shows from 2016. I think another version of the photo minus Bryan was used for one of her concert promos.

Eric, is there a way you could add a "Delulu" icon. It's desperately needed. Lol.

Mariah's perfect TV platform (77,327) by Truth from Heaven
Reality stars live off controversies. E. is well aware that MC lips. So what do we do to make her show gain worldwide attention? Let's take away her ear piece on national television. TV people are the spawn of Satan. They're all connected. I don't think Mariah realized what she got herself into. I also wouldn't be surprised if Stella was behind all that. She seems to have hogged all the spotlight after it happened. Mariah didn't think being a reality star is a big deal. She probably thought, "Hey I've lived through all the controversies, what ever comes will be nothing, I'm used to it" not realizing she will be purposely sabotaged on another level for money. They don't care about her at all. Hey at least she's learned that it wasn't a stellar platform. Hopefully she finally finds where she belongs on TV. I feel like Mariah never really found that (thus why she just accepts what ever job comes). Her stint on Idol was bleak. She also wasn't real and was too soft. Judging was not her thing. To me the realest I've seen Mariah was, when she coached the Idol kids back in 08 for her week. She was telling them all how to sing properly, giving out ideas and melodies, harmonizing but at the same time, was really kind and effective at giving out instructions. If she can find a platform like that, where she truly excels, maybe even a producing/writing/singing/song making competition where she coaches kids how to shape a record, then maybe people can finally see what is Mariah's essence. What she's really all about. Which is music making. None on these irrelevant reality drama bullcrap. I already see backlash from her family, her ex husbands, ex employees on this upcoming bio drama she's doing, which does nothing for her career, anytime you open up about your personal life and broadcast it on TV, people just get hurt. And I don't think non-celebrities deserve that kind of stress. Stella really is trash. She somehow gets MC to stupid things. Anyway I hope Mariah finds her place on TV in the future.

Re: Lionel Richie shows: Are you going? (77,297) (77,326) by JD from United States
I'm going to the [...] show, and same I don't really care to see [...] and I only know one or two of his songs, really just going to see her so I hope she doesn't half ass this since it could be a great opportunity for widening her audience. I know a lot of the people who would be attending aren't the people who read into the media about Mariah so I'm hoping they aren't a tough crowd. [...] if they are I'm gonna be one of the only people singing along to every song making a fool of myself lol. Not really sure what to expect honestly since half the crowd will be more excited about [...] and then part of the crowd will be more excited about [...], hopefully that doesn't mean only half the crowd will be excited at a time because that would make for an awkward time. Also does anyone know yet if [...] is opening or doing her hour in the middle of the show? [Webmaster: This is the last time I post one of your messages if you don't start a sentence with a capital. And the same with names like Mariah, Lionel etc.]

Re: The extra meat on the bones (77,315) (77,325) by 123 from USA
She needs to make a special request to Andre to style her again. She was looking like a vintage, legendary movie star in the beginning of TEOM era. Then she kind of went her own way only to link back up again for the Say Something video where he told her to lose weight (true friends can tell their friends that without being mean about it). Visually, it's one of her nicest videos and she looks great. If he won't do it, call Rachel Zoe. I just saw a video where JLo is featured on the MTVTres (Spanish language music videos) and she looks incredible and but more importantly, her fashion is so on point. And you are right, it's not her size it's the fashion choices because even when she is slim and trim we have seen some "what is she wearing" posts here.

I have nothing against another "transformation". At the moment it would be good. I don't believe it has something to do with a "comeback". Hmm sometimes I forget that we are talking about Marian Carey. Her image is really at an all-time low. I would never have thought that this is possible. Mariah should take a real break and enjoy her family and "normal" moments. I'm for a relaxed Mariah who is then starting something new with her true spirit and creative ideas for new music.

Re: I don't have a subject (77,318) (77,323) by Andrew from UK
That photo is photo-shopped. The other photos show the true picture. She has not just "put on weight" - she is enormous. The worst thing about it, the most cringeworthy thing, is that her dancers have seemingly been choreographed to look her up and down every now and then and sort of "oooh" and act like she's hot and attractive. It's indicative of a lot that is wrong with her.

Think of it this way, the wardrobe choices, weight gain and lackluster performances are all part of the plan. The haters may be having a good laugh now, but they're gonna eat crow sooner than they think. A very different Mariah is gonna emerge at the end of this year.

Butterfly celebration (77,321) by Kay from Thailand
While music is not a priority for Mariah and her team at the moment, how amazing would it be if, for the Butterfly anniversary, she took some time out from her "projects", like a month, and did a mini "lounge" tour where she performed the whole Butterfly album from the first to last track stripped down to a few instruments and the greatest instrument - her voice. Just her and a piano ala TGIFY in Vegas. The setting could be small intimate venues like on the Around the World DVD, it wouldn't cost as much as an arena tour, her fans would slap up the tickets, and the positive word of mouth would encourage newbies to check out her greatest piece of work and foster interest in her next album.
Do we have to think of everything team Mariah?

Re: All part of a big comeback? (77,308) (77,320) by Licia from USA
Public opinion of her is at an all time low right now. It just doesn't seem worth it to go through all this bad for a comeback. It would make more sense to have staged a huge comeback after the first few bad instances. Not wait until things are almost beyond repair.

Re: All part of a big comeback? (77,308) (77,319) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Nah team Mariah has never been one to have a major strategy in place in years now. And now especially with Stella running the show, it's even more messy. Mariah is probably just tired of doing shows and tired in general but they already booked her into these so she's going through it. If anything ever since NYE fail (and no I'm not blaming her completely, I'm just saying it was a disaster), all her focus should have been on highlighting her vocals, showing people she can still sing. And it's not like she didn't have good performances since then, but they weren't always steady. So on top of that, if she continues putting in lack lustre performances, it will damage her image further.

I don't have a subject (77,318) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So I know this photo is already attached to the article Eric posted but I just wanted to say that she looks so beautiful here. Every bit the diva and superstar that she is. Her hair looks gorgeous as well. She looks like she's the same age as Bryan here. I honestly would have been cool with Bryan and Mariah actually dating had I not had to endure the mess that was Mariah's World and not known what a leech Bryan is. I mean the guy is cute and I can understand that they might flirt and have feelings for each other but since this whole "relationship" was launched as a publicity tool for MW and then when you thought it couldn't get worse, you actually were show terribly scripted scenes on MW, one can't stop but cringe. Anyways, just wanted to say Mariah looks like a Barbie in this particular photo.

Stop singing my part now baby (77,317) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Haha so this dude was on stage for TMB and he pulled the iconic "stop singing my part now baby". Don't know if even Mariah remembers saying this, it was hilarious.

JLo (77,316) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
What we have to realize is her whole image is based on two main factors: her style and what she is wearing since the 00 Grammys and that Versace dress, and also her relationships and who she is dating because this is what keeps her hot in the headlines and then everything else follows.

The extra meat on the bones (77,315) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
For me this is definitely not a problem. I think she looks healthy, and beautiful. The problem here is the clothes themselves. For all the money in the world MC has been blessed to obtain her sense of style has always been cheesy and cheap for the most part. She needs a team to come refresh her wardrobe like as soon as today with a new era coming up everything has to be right, in order for it to make any kind of impact and with mostly everything in Mariah's world in dire need of CRP at this present time she can not risk nothing including not making sure her style is on point. But other than that I say let her keep some meat on her body because it is nothing wrong with a woman with curves.

I just don't know why she couldn't just wear some beautiful, figure flattering gowns and left it at that. She's not a dancer and has gone her whole career without wearing these damn pointless leotards. And she should've kept that corset on for the last night.

Re: New album (77,304) (77,312) by Licia from USA
I don't think she will be releasing anything at all, but if she does I'll take that quiet iTunes release. It's better than getting nothing.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey performs in final Las Vegas residency show (77,306) (77,311) by Licia from USA
I agree. It's not the extra meat. It's the not enough clothes or the ill fitting clothes that's the problem at times. I'd be a hypocrite to down her for gaining weight when I'm not a size 0. Even though I hate those stank bodysuits (on any woman, not just Mariah), her legs being bigger than last year wasn't my issue. She just looked uncomfortable in them.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey performs in final Las Vegas residency show (77,306) (77,310) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ya I don't care what size Mariah is, the only issue is she doesn't dress right. Also I don't really get why she always wears bodysuits nowadays since it's not like she's breaking into an intense choreography. I get wearing one for "Honey" because that's paying homage to the video. I also loved her first SSFT bodysuit (not the second one which looked like a bejeweled swimsuit) but nowadays it's like all her stage clothes are bodysuits. In this Vegas leg alone I think she had 4 bodysuits (the "Honey" pink one, the nude gold, the bejeweled one with the skirt and the red on with those long string like things). She can wear cute flirty mini dresses, or pant suits or anything but I honestly don't get the point of bodysuits anymore especially now that she doesn't even move much. Get a stylist Mariah. Stop letting Mishka dress you.
