And lately I really appreciate and enjoy "IWTKWLI". Languishing is Mariah at her best, I only wish the song [was] longer, but her interludes are always so good. I read somewhere (not sure where, maybe a comments section or something) that one of the reasons the music video for Boy is the disjointed, narrative-less thing that it is is that half of its scenes were meant to be part of the originally planned second single The One (which was supposed to be a little gangster-themed and more serious in nature) and that you can practically identify those scenes apart from the ones purposely shot for Boy. I also recall reading a comment that Mariah was almost arrested for filming in Japan without a permit at that time. Someone please tell me whether or not any of these things are true. It's simply just basically the same couple of notes sung the same way. Have you ever seen the episode of Friends where Ross plays the bagpipes and Phoebe screeches along. That is mildly preferable to The One. In fact, Ross is the music, Phoebe is Mariah and I'm Jennifer Aniston who can't fight back the laughter. But even Ross had a right to dream. Concerts (78,131) by Jeff from USA Just curious as to how many of us on the board have attended the "All the Hits" tour and what your thoughts are. I went to the Newark, NJ show and happened to sit beside someone who said she was there for Lionel and didn't like MC. After Mariah's set, I asked for her thoughts. What she said was very interesting to me. She said, "Well, the woman has amazing talent but seems like she is scared her voice will break down so she doesn't actually sing much. When she does, she sounds great." She went on to say that she would have preferred to hear MC go for it and miss a few times than not try at all. I was pretty amazed at this because I felt the exact same way. So in this case, a die hard fan and a non-fan felt the same way. Anyone else have thoughts about this? (Saturday 26 August 2017; 18:59)

Backup singers (78,130) by Jeff from USA I am a big fan of MC's backup singers, especially Mary Ann Tatum. They all have phenomenal voices and look like they genuinely are happy when she has a good show and performs well. They also very humbly pick up the slack on rough nights.
