So Mariah is performing DFAU at the AMAs. I absolutely love DFAU but I don't know if it was the best choice for the performance. I would have loved a medley instead. She has so many great songs in TEOM. I wonder if she'll mashup the original with the remix like she does with WBT. What are your thoughts?

I agree with this post. I only wish she'd just practice a bit more in rehearsals so that she isn't always looking at monitors or looking uncomfortable. Because she has the songs pre-recorded she should try and be more relaxed on stage. But maybe when we see on videos we over analyze because people who attended these shows say she had great stage presence and was engaging.

Robert Anthony, I think we are forgetting the live performances she was giving early last year. I made an effort not to see them because they made me uncomfortable. And if MC is one thing, she's self conscious and cares how she appears. I think she made a conscious decision after that that she'd rather fully lip and only look bad to the handful of us who notice rather than sound bad and off key to the entire world.
To the average listener, the vocals she's recorded for this year's live shows seem very much live. Do I wish she could still sing live? Yes I do. Am I going to renounce my lambily passport if she keeps lipping? Never in a million years. 
I'm more interested in the music she releases to add to her catalog that I'll be listening to until I'm old and have no teeth. Will I care then whether she lipped or sang live 40 years ago in Beijing or Rio or Vegas? I think not. There are much bigger issues in the world to lose sleep over.

I did some research on Phillipe Pierre. He is Haitian and has written mostly for Haitian bands according to his Discogs page. MC is his first major artist he has collaborated with. Maybe Mary Ann or Melonie Daniels introduce Phillipe to MC through one of their friends.

It is really unique amongst her ballads. The liner notes indicate that she composed it with someone named Philippe Pierre. I've never heard her mention him in any interviews before, and I wonder how that collaboration came about. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are credited as co-producers on it.

Of course she can do it. Will she? No. Her last 2 AMAs performances were lipped when she was still singing a bit. At best, it might be newly recorded vocals just for the AMAs.

I am seeing a lot of random people posting various scenes (i.e. decorating for Fall, leaving their house on a blustery day, etc) and then you hear MC sing the first few notes. People are then seen looking up at the trees as if to say, what was that? The whole concept revolves around "she's thawing" premise. I love it. Just hearing those first few notes gets me excited too.

I love these Christmas rumours and how she is going MC30 this Christmas season. Sabrina and Kelly could definitely keep MC on everyone's Christmas list. What would really be cool is if the both of them joined MC on her annual it's time video. MC did say this summer that she had some surprises for us to celebrate the Merry Christmas 30th anniversary.

I experiecend the exact same thing during the Charmbracelet tour. To see Mariah for the very first time live in person, it was totally surreal. I will also never forget. Mariah looks wonderful with the Brazil dress. Thanks for posting your concert experience. I love when Mariah travels around the world to give her global fanbase a chance to see her in concert.

It was absolutly a surreal experience. I felt like I was leaving my body. I've been a fan for 20 years so to see her in person was a life changing moment. I felt like she was like really real. Her voice is so pretty, her songwriting is awesome and she is one of the prettiest women ever. The Brazilian outfit and the butterfly dress is now iconic. I went to the São Paulo concert and it was as amazing as the Rock in Rio show, even better. Her Portuguese is cute. She came back for the IWKWLI without her shoes haha. 50k people singing with her. It was the happiest day of my life.
