If whatever they're cooking up isn't Christmas related, I really hope Bianca is involved in some way. She has hinted to her a few times on twitter.

Brutal lol, I feel guilty because some songs are just really equally good. Mariah Carey: Vision of Love (sorry Vanishing and Sent From Up Above) Emotions: You're So Cold (The Wind came damn close) Music Box: Music Box Merry Christmas: Miss You Most (At Christmas Day) Daydream: Underneath The Stars (Fantasy and Melt Away come really close) Butterfly: Breakdown (or The Roof or Honey, masterpieces) Rainbow: Petals Glitter: Lead The Way Charmbracelet: Subtle Invitation TEOM: Stay The Night/Fly Like A Bird E=MC2: I Stay In Love or I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time MOAIA: Languishing (should've been a full song) MIAM: Make It Look Good/Faded/Dedicated Btw I'm loving how Mimi seems to be loosening up. I love it when she wears denim. I want dem camouflage jacket back on her though.

Haha I second your "Sweet baby Jesus please don't let it be a Christmas song". I really hope not. For me personally, I hope it's an uptempo feel good song, which good lyrics and a good sing along chorus.

New song (55,616)
by Licia from USA
| |
|
|
I'd like to hear the new song before I hate it. I gave Infinity at least 5 tries, before I fully hated it. Lol Seriously though I'm not too keen on another song with Justin Beiber, but I'm willing to give it a listen. I'd rather it just be her and French though. I can deal with him. As long as this is not another AIWFCIY remix for that Christmas movie, I'm pretty open minded to whatever they came up with. Sweet baby Jesus please don't let it be a Christmas song. Lol.

I see what you mean, but Mariah doesn't need to try to make herself relevant anymore. She had so much success in the 90s, plus her comeback in 2005, that the mention of her name alone is always with the context of all that she has achieved. MC is not at a point where she needs to be #1. She's done that (boy did she), now's the time for her to just make the music she loves. RnB flavoured with hip hop, gospel numbers, urban balladry. As you say, it is all great stuff and her last album was fantastic. I wouldn't change it at all. If Mariah suddenly hooked up with David Guetta and Ed Sheeran in order to try and get a hit, it would be contrived. I would sooner, were Mariah to have another #1, that it is a sincere song written by her and not just something thrown together with a fad producer's name tacked on. She has never done that before and has always put the music first and remained true to who she is, which is a great RnB vocalist who trail blazed her genre. A meteorite that lit up the sky.

Aren't you always such a delight? You haven't even heard the song and you are already hating on it. How do you even know that it'll be anything like "Bitch I'm Madonna"? Also people have different opinions about who can sing and who can't, yours is not the ultimate truth. Anyways, you no longer really surprise anyone, because people know you just come here to be shady and rude.

Yet another impossible task, but can I at least mention those that came too close but didn't quite make the brutal cut? Here goes whatever: Mariah Carey - All Alone In Love (I Don't Wanna Cry is close behind) Emotions - The Wind (Can't Let Go almost made it) Music Box - Never Forget You Merry Christmas - All I Want For Christmas Is You (feel really bad for Miss You Most (At Christmas Time)) Daydream - Fantasy (kicking myself because I didn't choose Underneath The Stars or Melt Away) Butterfly - Fourth Of July (what about Buttefly, Honey, My All, Babydoll, The Roof or Outside?) Rainbow - Heartbreaker (so sad I couldn't include Can't Take That Away and Crybaby) Glitter - Lead The Way Charmbracelet - Subtle Invitation (Lullaby, There Goes My Heart, Miss You, Boy (I Need You), I Only Wanted, Yours are all runners-up) TEOM - Circles (Your Girl, Mine Again, So Lonely (One & Only Part II) are faves as well) E=MC2 - I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time (easily could be replaced by I'm That Chick, Heat, I Stay In Love, or Cruise Control depending on my mood) MOAIA - It's A Wrap (just a hair above Ribbon) MCIIY- Christmas Time Is In The Air Again (together with When Christmas Comes or Charlie Brown Christmas are part of the perfect Yuletide Mimi throwback trifecta) MIAMTEC - Make It Look Good (Faded and Dedicated have been great contenders, though)

Mariah not relevant anymore? (55,609)
by Wonwon from Indonesia
| |
|
|
Well, Mariah is the best female vocalist of this era. But, people get bored with her formula. Mariah need a new touch. She can make the fast beat song like she did before (Emotion, You're So Cold, Someday). Mariah's situation now is just like Madonna at the Like A Virgin - Like A Prayer era. At that time, Madonna was known as a pop rock female, the style from her beginning of music career. After that, Madonna find a new style by working with Babyface (Take A Bow) and then doing Evita (really fresh for Madonna), and then after that, Madonna was a flop for some years, just like Mariah today. I remember Madonna then change direction. She never worked again with her old friend producers like Steve Bray, Jellybean, Patrick Leonard (these producers give her the image of her music), but gave herself a new producer; William Orbit. Really new. Never heard Madonna like that before. Madonna all out with what William Orbit want. The result is the classic "Ray of light". Madonna still writes the songs (just like Mariah) but there's no older Madonna at that era. I just thought, Mariah needs some contrast change. Just go from that diva style. If Mariah want to try dance music, do it all out. Mariah's music style is old. Not up to date anymore. Songs like Cry, and all materials from MIAM, sound still like Mariah, pop, R&B, Hiphop and ended with Gospel. Is it bad? Not at all, for me it's very good. But did not sell well, right? It's ok to make a good album although it not selling well, but it will be perfect if that good album also sold out. And remember, today's music is pop music. Easy listening, simple and harmony. Forget that hard jazz idea. (Again, sorry for my very bad English.)

French Montana collaboration (55,608)
by Stella Lewis from USA
| |
|
|
Okay, we all know that it was Mariah who popularized and pioneered this "rent a rapper" trend. But at this stage in her career, even if the song is a surprise smash, it will be harder for her to top the charts. Mariah is looking good, but not as hot as she did during the E=MC2 era. She's 5 years shy from turning 50. This is such an age-ist industry, and if she were to make a music video acting like she's still in her 20's with her recent weight gain, people would just pick on her more. Compare this with her Almost Home soundtrack, she looks very elegant and classy in that video. For Mariah to make another number 1 single, that songs needs to have great vocals and lyrics. It needs to be a classy song that makes people actually pay attention to her singing. Her voice has been improving so much throughout her residency, and I would much rather have her work with a vocal coach, and come back out once she's truly ready with an even stronger voice with resonant belts.

Mariah's duets album (55,607)
by Wonwon from Indonesia
| |
|
|
If Mariah really want to make an album full of duets or collaborations, it will be perfect if she puts it into 2 parts. First part, duets with older music legends; Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, George Michael, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion, James Ingram, Stevie Wonder, Toni Braxton, Lauryn Hills (or Fugess), Dolly Parton, Olivia Newton John, Barbra Straisand, Phil Collins, Madonna, John Bon Jovi (maybe, I know Mariah love him, and John respect Mariah, one time they had the same hair style, lol). And the second part with the younger act today; Justin B, Katy, Beyonce, Gaga, Ariana, Rihanna, Taylor S, that American Idol winner where Mariah come in to (sorry forget the name), Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Key, etc. Make it a double album format. If it also is not selling well, believe me, it will be one classic MC album. Also, Mariah can include, When You Believe, Endless Love, I'll Be There (maybe remake it with new studio version), The Beautiful One. Sorry for my very bad English.

Mariah Carey - "There's got to be a way" Emotions - "Can't let go" Music Box - "Anytime you need a friend" Daydream - "I am free" Butterfly - "My all" Rainbow - "After tonight" Charmbracelet - "The one" The Emancipation Of Mimi - "Mine again" Me I Am Mariah - "Beautiful Now I am so ready for a brand new song to add to my list. I'm hoping that Mariah's next album will be epic. Her voice has improved so much that she can deliver vocally and put all these lame lesser females to shame. I'm referring to you JLo, Taylor, Becky D, Beyonce and Ariana Grande. Mariah is still the best voice in the music industry.

Not sure if there is any truth to this at all, but I remember seeing something that Mariah cut ties with her because she thought Rancine was going behind her back and telling Nick things. Trust is very important to MC and we all know when she puts that wall up its hard for it to come down. But of course it was just something I read online and you can't always trust what you read.

This collab will be Mariah's 19th #1. Slay Mimi. No but seriously, if you side eyed Madonna for "B*tch, I'm Madonna" how would this purported collab be any different for Mariah? PS. Chile. Somebody on here just thinks Justin Beiber is a good singer.

To Babe on Fifth Harmony (55,601)
by Amber C from USA

You are right, Fifth Harmony need help. I have a bone to pick with them. I feel sad for them. I'm very good at predicting the future of these acts, and as I see it the only one who will have a career is Dinah Jane. They need more content at this point in their careers. They should be doing meaningful music, and not just fun music. too much wanna be bubble gum pop, prancing and hair flipping, and generic vocals and songs. We are not in 2004 and this is not the Pussycat Dolls era anymore. This is a full decade later, and their record company does not believe in them at all. If they did they wouldn't be getting this outdated, forgettable material. If they don't take care a real, and legitimate girl group will rise up from the ashes and no one will hear of them again. I feel that time is soon. I loved them on the X Factor, but they have not seemed to mature musically. Their skirts just got shorter. I'm sorry Babe they seem to be stuck in Britney and Pussycat Doll era. On average they are twenty years of age. They can do better.

Mariah and Stella (55,599)
by Amber C from USA

Well maybe Racine and Mariah were growing apart. Stella seems to have lots in common with Mariah but something tells me she not loyal as Racine. Well Racine was just Mariah's assistant and choreographer, and she wasn't doing her job right, so she had to go. Where as Stella is assistant, publicist, manager, step momb (lol), best friend forever, all in one. But I'm not worried about Stella like I am about this moving to Australia thing majigi.
