The Weekend collaboration (102,855) by Bobby A from United States
Whatever happened to MC wanting to collaborate with The Weekend? I just wonder how MC would have sounded on the Die For You remix or even on Out of Time.

Lol, fair, but the other "so called" popular females (Madonna et al might object to that turn of phrase hah) have flexes equally as impressive in other areas. I think this is my point, there's a big wide world of other successes out there beyond US Billboard #1s and Christmas time.

New music (102,853) by Terna from Nigeria
I'm looking forward to unreleased stuff from the beginning like recall that tracklisting from around 2015, songs that didn't make the final cut from the debut. Maybe she'll redo the album as Rarities 2 as most have pointed out here, but I kind of want a different title, so it can stand out and on its own, not just a sequel of. I also have a feeling Mariah has something up her sleeve like a whole studio album already done - high quality like "The Emancipation Of Mimi", "Butterfly" and "Daydream". Her speaking voice does sound better of late and that's a good thing.

Now ask yourself this. "Which one of those other so called popular females has that Christmas flex?" After she's been the queen of music already. Exactly my point, none.

Mariah deserves better fans, Mariah deserves a better team, Mariah deserves a happier ending. I love to see as much of her as possible but I wouldn't be mad if she just dipped and released music from an island.

Many cry over "Corny Like fritos" yet the amazing song made more noise than half of her catalogue as standalone tracks. I wouldn't mind the overpraising of Mariahs earlier works if it wasn't on the expense off her later stuff. Her music from 2000-2023 gets more streams, more acclaim, more praise every year minus the "soon to be most successful song of all time" (all I want).

Mariah Carey simply is the greatest female songwriter due to her witty, relatable, tearjerking, funny, heartbreaking and sometimes unserious lyrics. Mariah does what Mariah does and I'm waiting for the time she truly disappoints me musically.

I will even take a JD produced track at this point. We have been in a MC drought far too long now. If she really wanted to be honest with all of us, she would sit down with Oprah for a TV special this summer and tell us everything about her voice problems, her feelings about Nick's many kids under 6 years old, and her troubled relationship with her mother and siblings. Oprah would love to let MC tell her story on her terms.

I thought you were moving on? Anyway all I said was the delusionals say "yaas queen", which they do. Whether they are gay or straight or anything in-between makes no difference to you, me, or anyone else. Stop taking things personally and reading things that aren't there.

Let's be clear on some things. Your opinions about the Forbes list do not offend me. I don't care that she's not on the list. My only argument was that she was more popular in her prime than many others on that list. You put words in my mouth to further push your argument. I only said something because of the was you decided to express yourself mockingly using that and disguised it as trying to being funny. I only said something because someone has to call it out when they see it. It wasn't about me either, I'm a grown ass man and you don't know me therefore you can't hurt me. But you don't know how many young kids may be reading these comments and made to feel bad about their sexuality for being different. You can backtrack all you want but maybe choose your mocking words more carefully or you will be called out every time. That's all. Everyone can go back and read all these comments and take from them what they choose. Go ahead I know you must have the last and final word.

The folks on the list are there primarily for their business ventures/money earned outside of music. Rihanna isn't worth $1.4B because of her music, but her beauty company and other ventures. One might say they leveraged their popularity better from a business POV, but it's hard to argue the music point. Fair?

I guess it's Mariah's fault. We need some studio music now. The Rarities 2 would have us all holding hands like we used to in middle school.

I'm amazed my comments about a Forbes list caused so much offence to you. I think you're taking my messages personally which isn't the intention, and I certainly never mocked anybody's sexuality, nor would I ever.

Absolutely. "Until Beyoncé, Taylor, Rihanna and even Madonna can match these 'tip of the iceberg' statistics I just mentioned, they are not anywhere near Mariah Carey in popularity." I witnessed Mariah mania. I witnessed the 90ies, Beyoncé, Taylor and Rihanna come not even close to this and never will. They are popular entertainers, nothing more. Mariah had a superstardom and still has only a few in this world share/shared. A Forbes list says nothing about the impact and fame an artist has. If Justin Bieber would be number one on the money list, it would not change the genius musicality and worldwide fame of Prince and Michael for example. Just watch Mariah singing "My All" at the Pavarotti and Friends concert, the look of the audience says it all. They know they witnessed a superstar that only comes once in a billion years. Taylor and Rihanna are okay but not special at all. But there will never be another Mariah.

I completely agree. For three years, Mariah was incredibly popular across the globe and no one really compared. However, those three years plus her US-only number one records does not mean she is the most popular female singer ever/today and should therefore be sitting atop every single list ever, unfortunately. As fans of hers, we are mired in her success and statistics, but looking at it objectively, it's clear and obvious as to why she wouldn't feature on that list and the others didn't. It's nothing for anyone to be upset about, there's nothing to be done about it. Ask yourself what has she done since last Christmas? The Christmas before that? The Christmas before that? A couple of lipped concerts and an endorsement for McDonalds.

I never used the word tyrant. Don't you put words in my mouth too just to try and insult me. If you can't read the mocking and condescending way he expressed himself that's on you. Call me delusional all you want but at least read the posts if you're going to chime in and defend or condone that behavior. I get that we are all different and we may disagree at times but those comments only speak to your character. I'm a gay man in my early 40s and I'm not some kid that expresses themselves like that, not that there's anything wrong with that. Go on and justify ignorance some more, it's fully expected at this point. We can agree to disagree. I'm moving on and I'm glad to see a lot of you also step in and say something productive and stand up against it too. I may be wrong at times or have an unpopular opinion but I will never not stand up for what I believe is the right thing. Eric, I really do appreciate everything you do to keep this board going and I apologize if I caused any grief directly or indirectly. Always remember sometimes we have to choose our battles and there's nothing wrong with ignoring people that won't ever consider the slightest possibility that they may be incorrect with their "facts".

I could not agree more. Mariah Carey is one of the greatest artists that ever did this. No one compares to Mariah Carey. That voice and that writing is pure genius. I will always be a diehard fan. It's a celebration Mimi's emancipation. So chic and genius. I love you Mariah now and forever more.

We love facts not unsubstantiated false claims which seems to be a recurring theme in this board.

Mariah Carey is the most successful female singer and songwriter and producer. The industry biggest hitmaker. [censored]

You just speak with opinions and try to pass them off as facts. First things first, the era Mariah reigned supreme - the 90's - cannot be compared with this day we live in with the internet, streaming, YouTube and social media. Mariah had none of these and still had her foot on every other single artists necks, Both male and female. Her numbers speak volumes - this is someone as young as she was, went toe to toe with Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Céline Dion, Toni Braxton, Michael Bolton, Sheryl Crowe, Alanis Morrisette, The Spice Girls, Mary J. Blige, Tevin Campbell, Aaliyah, Brandy, Prince, Monica, Madonna Boyz II Men etc all of whom it should be noted were also in their prime, And still came out on top winning multiple awards (Billboard artist of the decade and millennium artist to name a few) that reflect her impact and popularity. Mariah made over 1 billion US dollars for Sony - one artist alone, Until Beyoncé, Taylor, Rihanna and even Madonna can match these "tip of the iceberg" statistics I just mentioned, they are not anywhere near Mariah Carey in popularity. Social media is all smoke and mirrors and that "fame" is false and does not translate to anything tangible when it comes down to the real. You of all people should know this with numbers being fabricated today with follower count and all.

Actually you've said the people on the list are there instead of her because they were more popular than her at the height of her career which is an opinion, not a fact, and is undercut by objective data.

The truth is that the people on the list are on the list mostly for ventures they have done outside of music, not their music careers. Good for them and their teams.

You seem to be a lil bit obtuse. "Yass Queen" doesn't refer to sexuality. It refers to what delusional fans like yourself blindly call Mariah when she has done a great or horrible job. And Eric, my dear, has always been fair to all of us. You don't get to have a board like this for 25 years by being a tyrant.

Mocking sexual preferences? What on earth are you talking about. We're talking about why Mariah is not on the Forbes list and I've presented logical facts as to why she isn't rather than the standard "she's had more number ones than anybody therefore she is the best" argument that always gets thrown around here by the delusionals.
