Made for Me remix (106,482)
by jaker20 from US
| |
|
|
I like it. It does have plenty of elements from early to mid 2000s R&B. I'm actually not familiar with Muni's original, so I'm hearing it with fresh perspective. But it's a good addition to Mariah's remixes releases, because I really like the YER more than the original. I feel like she's gearing up for a remixes album. I still would rather her remixing her classics like Dreamlover, Someday, Honey, and the others, the same way that Fantasy was given so many treatments.

The verse Mariah is singing in the MFM remix sounds actually almost identical to The Distance.

Yes, I like it too. Plus I'm happy that this time the lyrics are clean. Lol. For me it sounds like a song that could be on the MOAIA album. So now I'm ready for a real surprise for the next song. Jazz, pop or a song from the Ugly Daughter sessions? However please Mariah only next time.

Muni and Mariah remix (106,470)
by Shezz from Pk

I like it. I don't love it (yet). It could have been on any Mariah album, very reminiscent of other JD and BMC Mariah songs like [We belong together] and [Don't forget about us]. I will definitely be hearing this over the original (same like I do with Yes, And and Big Energy). Mariah sounds good, I wish it were a little longer. I mean we all knew exactly what the song sounds like anyway and with the [Billboard] remix rule, we weren't up for any surprises. I'd have liked to hear a Mariah only chorus like we heard in the clips. Robert Anthony, history shall have to wait. They do sound good together though.

I do like the remix, it sounds good to me. Will we see it on the charts? Not likely. But I don't think MC is chasing the chart positions just yet. More like exposure and a reminder of what she brings to the table before we get a studio album. Fingers crossed we get a new album this year. I hope more people like and enjoy this remix than not. It could've easily been a track in MIAMTEC or even Caution. Don't like the blank single cover. Reminds me of I Don't, which I don't listen to very often.

I think the reason why it seems like MC is fading behind Muni in the chorus is JD was going for that gospel style on the last chorus where MC is portraying the lead vocalist adding ad libs behind the last chorus to add more meaning to the song's closure.

I think with "Yes And" they made the song super loud and with Made for Me I felt the opposite. Mariah is fading behind Muni in the chorus. Like an echo. I also felt the whistles were off, dry and weak.

I don't know how to feel haha. I think the chorus is too busy and her verse seems very reminiscent of an old song of hers I can't quite place it. I don't really see this song doing much for Mariah. May help Muni get some international lambs. I don't know what is Mariah's team's strategy. Instead of doing these side remixes that's not doing much for her, she should focus on her own projects.

MFM remix (106,471)
by "MariahHater" from Hell

Well at least we got another 2024 Mimi song. Better than releasing posthumous ones. Anyway my take on the rao part I hope that it's on the full rr side of the voice vs breathy one but the rest Mariah elevates songs to a place that an artist of her caliber can only. Mariah knows how to put texture. I am just happy getting music from her than to be dried the hell out of Christmas songs.

As I stated before, this was another unnecessary flop. This is what you have been waiting for? Her "rapping" on somebody else's track? Yes, And? was a masterpiece comparing to this. I am beyond words and reasonable explanation.

Muni and Mariah remix (106,469)
by Terna from Nigeria
| |
|
|
This wasn't planned well. The core of this song is its strong, loud and vocal chorus in contrast to the sublime reflective verses. It got too loud, too fast on the first chorus with Mariah singing the tenor part of the chorus. That should've been done in her falsetto voice or left out entirely (former preferred) and only after her introduction which was her verse, should she have sung in full voice the same part. Mariah sounds good and smooth which is a plus and her belts are getting better and closer to what she used to sound like. Three out of 5 stars.

Remix (106,468)
by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
| |
|
|
I'm so tired of slow to mid tempo basic rnb from Mariah, I think this remix sounds like it could be a part of MOAIA. And I think it was not a good strategy to release it so late, by last night, my exitement for the song was gone, and when I woke up today, it was lik "ok, let's listen to this song then". I actually don't think I will listen to it again, it's absolutly boring. I can guarantee you this won't be the song of the summer.

The remix was well worth the wait. I love how MC uses her voice from harmonizing with Muni Long on the first chorus to the rap style singing with her new lyrics on the second verse to her gorgeous ad-libs on the final chorus. And she doesn't over do it with her whistle notes. Finally a remix collaboration that will played on the radio all summer. Let's get it to number one on the Hot 100. Was history made or what last night? Yes.

Looks like she did post later haha. She retweeted the same image JD put in with the "thinking emoji" pretending that she doesn't know what the lambs are talking about. Then mentioned it's coming. Wondering if she'll perform it. Also Muni wrote "yall aren't ready for RapRiah" so are we getting new verse?

I'm just surprised there's not a word from team Mariah about it? Lol like they gave up on it before it even released. With Ariana's atleast there was some "teasing". Also JD is a great producer but dude has a hard time promoting stuff (flashback to MIAM era disaster). What mess is he upto on his insta with the nonsense posts? Like he posted this screen grab about how Mariah fans are disappointed the song didn't release as promised on time and they're venting on twitter and he posted it with a "thinking" emoji. So I was curious what the insider account had say about MC working with JD again. When I saw my search come on my screen, I saw two names in addition to JD that made me smile. I saw that the insider account said that MC is working with Skillrex and Solange Knowles. I always thought The Distance was MC's favorite song and Skillrex was her favorite producer on Caution. Solange Knowles could give MC that Alternative R&B sound that I have been wanting her to do for a long time. Solange's Crane's In the Sky won her a Grammy in 2017. She also wrote Beyonce's Get Me Bodied. Check out her solo stuff and R&B song credits and see if her sound is a perfect fresh sound for MC.

Ah. She's gonna premier it on The Voice? Insider has been saying that Mariah is going to perform the remix live to promote it. I hope it's true. I don't care if it's lipped. Knowing Mariah she will want the song to be heard with perfect vocals the first time it's being heard.
