And yes, Mariah's sound (105,584) by Terna from Nigeria
I only pointed out the obvious, and suggested a solution. I do applaud fans such as Edward who call it as it is, without mincing words unapologetically. Now if only Mariah had even just one person on her team, that was bold enough to mirror the obvious observation.

It just occured to me (105,582) by jaker20 from US
That Mariah just had a collab with Ariana, and it's a remix. A 2018 me would think that if they ever work together, it's going to be the biggest news of the year, it's going to be an event, it's going be their song together and not one or the other just hopping in, and it'll debut at no.1 based on their names alone, whatever the quality of the song. Now that moment is gone. It cannot be repeated.

For the record, Mariah has written a bunch of songs for Allure and Trey Lorenz. I agree though, she should do it more often.

I would for MC to form a new R&B girl group that she sets on the road to stardom using her 30 plus years in the music industry. They have to be in their early 20s so that they will listen to MC's guidance and expertise.

I do not follow the herd mentality. It's perfectly fine if 99 percent of people love the "Yes, And?" remix. I've always advocated for people expressing their opinions here, even if they differ from my own. I will respectfully express my views, even if they diverge from the prevailing consensus.

I think it's time for me to take a break from this board. Peace to all.

While you may not be a fashion expert, you still hold opinions on fashion, just as others may have opinions on medical matters. As I mentioned, these are simply opinions. While I might disagree with your opinion, I would never discourage you from expressing it.

One need not be an expert to recognize when Mariah doesn't look great in certain outfits, just as one need not be a doctor to sense when something is amiss health-wise with someone. Speculation is something we can all engage in, regardless of our expertise.

I believe this is something Mariah should have pursued long ago, especially considering the lengthy gaps between her album releases. Given her talent and experience, she could have been an exceptional record producer/lyricist for other artists. I wonder why she never chose to explore this avenue.

And yes, Mariah's sound (105,573) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Being a doctor and fashion expert are two vastly different things. One deals with people's health, life and death and needs a very high level of expertise. Anyone can be a fashion expert you just need to have good taste and an eye for what's fashionable. It's not the same. It's not even a debate.

I really hope within the next couple of years Mariah starts writing and possibly produce songs for other people. Whether for pop stars or rnb singers, up and coming or established. What singers would you love Mariah to write and or produce songs for?

No, but (105,571) by Edward from USA
I wasn't fixated on the song's chart performance, my primary focus was Mariah matching Ariana's delivery. I didn't expect Mariah to overshadow Ariana or turn it into a vocal showdown, I just I simply hoped they'd harmonize well together.

Ariana didn't resing anything for the remix, much like how Mariah didn't resing anything for "Whenever You Call" with Brian McKnight. The ball was on Mariah's court, she had the opportunity to elevate the song with her input. A mere loud whistle or high note no longer suffices. Ariana's whistle notes seamlessly integrate into the song, whereas Mariah's feel less natural.

I'm hopeful that a proper collaboration between Mariah and Ariana on Mariah's next album will yield a timeless song akin to "When You Believe". Sorry if that's too much to ask.

It's merely an opinion, akin to when you suggest certain outfits or styles for her to wear or not. You're not a fashion expert, just as I am not a doctor. However, we form our opinions based on what we observe. It's not as though Mariah is going to discard her wardrobe at the suggestion of one, or opt for surgical procedures at the suggestion of another.

Listening to the remix, it's apparent that there may be some significant issues with her voice. Whether we choose to gloss over it is a separate matter.

Considering we're discussing Mariah Carey here, the legend, hearing her on a remix sounding like this is quite perplexing to me, that's all. I now understand why she probably hasn't released new music in a such a long time.

No, but (105,568) by T from USA
Worst case scenario. The song tanked off the Spotify top 200 in two days. People do not enjoy this song. We know how Mariah reacts when something bombs this bad. She will go in a completely different direction. Distance herself from this sound which means Max Martin no more. Dance music no more. Upbeat music with belting no more. Hoping on a younger artist's song no more. It's going to be slow beat ballads going forward lol.

And yes, Mariah's sound (105,567) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I said this before and I'll say it again, let us leave the sentiments at constructive criticism and avoid giving out medical advice. She's in her 50s, there could be a lot of reasons why she would want to avoid a surgery. We don't know if there's any risk to her health. Also even if there are no risks to her health, we should not be telling her what procedures she needs to do. We're not doctors and if any of you are, you haven't treated her. Also just out of basic decency, it's a no no.

Yes, And, I Don't (105,565) by Bobby A from United States
Great post Jamie. At this point, I hope she gives us MC16. I would accept MIAM vocals and be happy. Her vocal decline is too far gone now that I think surgery on her nodules would not help at this point. Can she give us Fantasy type of vocals? Probably not. Will she be able to give us TMB or #Beautiful type of vocals? I think she will be able to that. TCOM Vegas shows will let us know the type vocals we can expect. However, I feel the shows will be 70% lipped to a backing track.

Yes, And, I Don't (105,563) by Jamie from UK
I think this track is what it is, I like the song. I liked it when it was just Ariana. Having Mariah on it now singing up beat is music to my ears. Is it Mariah's best performance no, but is it really her worst? I'd rather have this over I Don't any day. I think we need to cut her some slack, she's never gonna blow us away as she once did, she's 54 this year and unfortunately has declining vocals which I'm sure she herself is very well aware of. I was actually quite happy with her vocals on this track, let's be honest we've heard worse over the last few years. For a long time now we've been asking for Mariah to get herself together, she's finally started to clean up her act, her public presence and persona is back up to where it should be, her PR is back to where it should be and she's getting lots of attention and respect from fellow artists. Yet we continue to dissect everything she does and bash her when she finally does something positive. I would love Mariah to have her full 90's vocals back and to some degree her personality, but unfortunately it's not gonna happen. Vocal decline has happened for various reasons and she suffered a major breakdown which has changed her as it would. Not forgetting she's been living this famous life for a long time now and as much as stars say they haven't changed. They always do over time one way or another, hey non famous people change over time believe it or not. Nobody is the same or doing the same things as they once did 25 plus years ago. But instead of tearing her down let's give her praise for still being here, making music and gracing us with her presence for nearly 34 years, I'd much rather have her still with us than not. The track isn't that bad and who knows what's in-store for us this year on her solo projects. Let's celebrate Mariah.

Yes, And? lyrics (105,562) by Anonymous from USA
For the record, I was not speaking of you in my rant. I know you've never had anything negative to say about MC and I respect that. Also, when I told you to shut up a few years back, I didn't mean that for you either, I meant that for "he who shall not be named", you know who, but I accidentally replied to your post and I just never cleared the air so I'm sorry about that. Also, I'm glad you found the clean version of Yes, And. I don't have children, so in my everyday life I do indulge in curse words and don't think much about it, but I understand and respect your views on this.

Both versions of the song are considered as one for charting purposes, with only the most popular version being displayed on the charts. This was the case with the Big Energy Remix; while it certainly boosted the original track's visibility, it didn't surpass its popularity. Consequently, Mariah's version didn't appear on the charts. It's not that she wasn't credited, she was, but the version she was credited for wasn't the most popular one.
