Next year she has her big comeback on Drag Race as a candidate. She will outdo everyone else at sipsync and can swap wigs with other drags.

Old school MC fans from the 90's know a lip synced performance when we see one and it was definitely prerecorded which is the norm for her these days. Her nerves along with the inconsistency of her voice has has caused her to lean on prerecorded vocal tracks. I just want more movement from her if she's going lip sync.

Christmas songs (early bird special) (104,161)
by Tevin from USA

Dear John, Back to December and Enchanted are three beautiful songs from Taylor's album Speak Now. Give them a listen. It's no Butterfly album but she does have a decent pen game, even if it slightly sub par to Mariah's. Anyway let me know how you like those three songs, they are what made me a Taylor fan.

Yes, Taylor Swift seems very relatable. I only know "Shake it off" and her debut country album. Lol I had friends from Texas, they told me to give the album a try when it came out. Back then I never thought Taylor Swift would be the biggest female pop star chartwise in 2023.

Is any one else still pissed off this song didn't go to #1? I am. Ok bye. If we could get this song to #1 on iTunes Mariah would flip out because she knows this should have been a #1. I recall all those weeks waiting and waiting for it to pop from #2 to #1. Don't ever forget how frigging flawless that video was too. She looked so beautiful in that.

Never sung in her life (104,159)
by Bobby A from United States

MC is a survivor. I was thinking today that the music business is a cruel industry whereas only a few artists have careers after their sophomore album. MC surpassed all of that and made it to 32 years in the music business. I am going to show more understanding and compassion with my comments from this day forward.

Ok critical lambs, you've exposed it. Mariah has never sung in her life. She's a studio creation. She can't sing, she's never performed live, the only Mariah that was real was 1993-1995. Adele, Celine, Ariana, Beyoncé never ever lip. . I've gotta ask (especially the "I wish Mariah was frozen in 1993" from the UK commenters), why can't you just enjoy Mimi's magic and success? I get we all have our favourite "Mariah moments", but all those with the opinionated stance that nothing beats Mariah between Music Box and Daydream is tired. Mariah's best, most emotive moments are post Charmbracelet.

As much as I hate to say it, Taylor Swift's songs don't just chart one week and out the other, she has a massive fanbase. In some places they're camping outside Arenas six months in advance just to be closer to the stage. She's definitely had the Midas touch for quite sometime now. I don't know the lyrics to any of her songs. I tried listening to her last album but I didn't feel a connection. I wish her well though. Her relatable persona definitely helps her a lot. The woman is the biggest thing right now yet she doesn't acts as if she believes her own hype.

20 songs in the chart, and then disappear the following week. Mariah should do something big next year during the album's 30th anniversary and have every song chart.
Anyway, Brenda could take it this year. Mariah will probably do something big next year, so if she gets a couple of weeks this year, she'll probably take the record back next year. But she should do a good festive video every 2 years anyway, since that is all she is doing now.

Only four Christmas songs re-entered the Hot 100 this week. 17. All I Want for Christmas Is You 32. Las Christmas 38. Jingle Bell Rock 44. A Holly Jolly Christmas If there's a possibility for any song other AIWFCIY to hit No. 1 this year, in my opinion, that would be Last Christmas. I'm tired of seeing Taylor Swift with 20 songs on the top 10.

I do like that head crown but Beyonce and a few other artists already did it so it has less of an impact. It should have been like halo stars instead so it's slightly different. Mariah needs to find something that is unique to her since she is doing this every year.

I guess you're right, but the fact these songs have re-entered the chart so early tells you their numbers will be far ahead than the rest of them. I thought Brenda's "Sitting on My Rocking Chair" would be at least in the top 100.

I hate to be the one to spoil the party, but the Billboard performance wasn't 100% live, or even 50% live. Or even 25%. She was lipping to the Extra Festive version and had pre-recorded parts kick in at the beginning and the end. It's the same as every other "live performance" she's done in the last 10 years. Bah humbug.

Well said Ed. How many singers are no longer here because too many yes people around them? Part of being human is being able to take criticism so you can grow and continue to live a positive life. Being famous is even harder as [you're] living in a completely different world and it's more important to remember who you are and to be able to take criticism.

People on this board love Mariah and have given her some great advice. If there were only "yasss queen" lambs posting here, Mariah would still be believing she was fooling anyone. All the "yasss queen" sites disappeared for a reason. Mariah is a musical genius, she should be held to higher standards. I'm glad she probably reading this board since she seems to be doing some of things recommended here.

I don't think asking a singer to sing and work on stage presence is being negative. Us diehard fans knows what she is capable of (Daydream tour, Butterfly tour, Charmbracelet tour, etc). Everyone is entitled to an off day but it's a problem when it happens frequently. We have a right to be concerned and ask questions.

Well, I also think it was live, but besides from the opening chorus, she is mostly singing to the original recording as a back track, but sometimes her current voice shines through, and it's not bad at all. Her voice in the opening chorus is actually better than the lst 5-10 years. She has listened to some criticism and feedback it seems, maybe even come to this board for advice. She is doing much of what many people here have requested, singing the songs differently with her curent voice, keeping to her middle to low register and quit masking her voice decline with pre-recorded notes nobody believes she can hit anymore.
Mariah has lost weight, done a face sugery, maybe another boob job, they look a bitt different, she looks better than in years. But at the same time I am dissapointed that she has gone to these extremes, I really hope she will not eventually become another Madonna case. I am still concerned about her mental well being, because she is lethargic and doesn't seem happy. It might be medication, I read another place she has used osempic to lose weight, and more than 10% of users of that medication gets depression and it's not unusual to get suicidal. But that is of course just speculation.
Anyways, Mariah is working hard on getting her reputation back as a singer and a perfomer you can rely on, I think she is doing a pretty good job. Keep up the good work, Mariah, and your happiness will follow.

I watched Mariah's performance and I really enjoyed it. She can still sing it's not like when she came out in the nineties but she can still sing her face off. She was even trying to do something a little bit different to let the audience know that hey I can still sing and I am singing live not all was live but most of it was. I would like to know what you guys think. Do you think she was singing live or was she lipping it? Well I love Mariah I have loved her since day one. She is incomparable. Mariah Carey often duplicated never imitated. You guys also have to remember that all these young girls like Christina (42), Britney (41), Jessica (43), Beyoncé (42) and so forth studied Mariah so they can be like her. I often come on this board but hardly ever post anything but when she does a good job I would like to leave a positive message to up lift her. Let her know that her die hard fans like me are with her. Everyone has a right to feel how they want and say what they want this is a free country. I have always been one of her biggest fans because I have always wanted to sing and I love singers with big voices. I love you Mariah you are such an inspiration.

It was definitely live and she sounded good. It seems to be she's working with a vocal coach or something. Even though she's not belting much, at least she doesn't seem to be struggling with the less taxing notes. That makes me happy.
