Re: The Art Of Letting Go cover (39,592) (39,593)

Am I missing something? Most fans like/love the cover, only two fans have criticized the cover. So I think you're overreacting when you say "I come on here to a bunch of critics".

The Art Of Letting Go cover (39,592)
by clueey23 from USA

|

I come on here to a bunch of critics. Geesh. The cover is called "art" for a reason. Back in the day people didn't even use their own faces for their projects. I have a bunch of albums that are literally artwork. I think this is MC best cover ever, album or single. As far as the music, I'm as excited as I was at any other time about a Mariah project because I know that she never fails me and my personal taste in music. I just love the way you all have bought stock in MC and if this next single doesn't reach the top 5 or the album doesn't debut at #1 you'll loose millions.

But the cover art? Not so much. I'm kinda tired of the whole bathing suit thing (videos, etc.). I'll leave it at that. Peace.

Nowhere near finished? (39,590)
by Quaid Long from USA

So Mariah says her collabo with Nas is "nowhere near finished". Ugh. Even though I have full faith in her and this new project, I think that when she says stuff like that it only makes lambs more anxious. Yes, we know we're gonna have a new single in 2 weeks, for which I'm abundantly grateful, lol, but come on Mimi, finish the damn album and announce a release date already!

I like it, but it looks too much like her fragrance ad for me to love it. The water and the orange clouds are the same. Only thing different is that Mariah was naked in the fragrance ad and mostly submerged in the water.

Beautiful picture, reminds me of the My All video (though now with a bigger cleavage lol). I can't wait to hear this track.

Indeed. It will be interesting to actually hear the song, and the general direction of the rest of the album. These teasers actually seem to have the fans really excited.

I'd been thinking that as well. I remember her talking about having something like that being painted in Dem Babies' nursery, and want something similar for her bedroom. TJ, TEOM album cover looked even like Mariah, remember how they were all saying she looked like Beyonce? Something feels very different about this era and what's in store for us. And if the single cover is this good, imagine what the album cover could look like.

That should be the album cover. It's perfect and amazing. Very artistic, tasteful and sexy. Also, I love the fact that she's underneath the stars and covered by orange clouds all at the same time. Do we think she's paying homage to two of her favourite and most personal songs? Could be a hidden clue to fans as to the creative depth of the new album.

I love it. Very simple, yet beautiful. I still like that other alledged album cover of her in the pool. That face shot was gorgeous.

Yes it's art, because it's not Mariah. Why do they feel the need to photoshop a picture that much? The pictures from BET show us a real person. I don't get it, and I don't buy the "everyone is doing it" argument.

The new single cover (39,581)
by Gerald from USA by the way of NYC
| |
|
|
The new single cover for The Art Of Letting Go is simple yet sexy without doing too much. I like the natural look meets the peaceful enviroment. I'm also feeling a little The Emancipation Of Mimi and Butterfly vibes with this new cover. Now all I want is the new single, my patience is getting the best of me.

Now that's what I call #Beautiful. Exactly 2 more weeks to go guys. Notice how "The Art of Letting Go" is written in her own handwriting, a first I think, not sure though.

That should be the album cover "and I can't pretend that that doesn't mean a thing to me". Such a beautiful artwork. I expect great music but not stunning covers. This time the lady again shocks the world!

I really love it! It's simple and just elegant. The colours, the lighting, Mariah (ok, with a few touch ups), everything is just beautiful about it. At least it isn't just a couple of screen shots from a music video. It's very "M by Mariah Carey" meets TEOM promo shots meets "Butterfly" single cover.

Halloween photo / in anticipation of TAOLG (39,576)
by Ryan from the Philippines
| |
|

I made one glance at that Halloween photo where she was wearing that pink tiny clothes and I was like this . Hahaha. She is just so hot and I felt like something was pulsating lol. And Roc's face looked so funny. Priceless moment. About TAOLG teaser, first two seconds sounded the intro sound from Can't Take That Away and the next violin variations sounded a little bit of Adele's Skyfall. I'm just so excited to hear the real art of all art that's around this time. But hey, I'm not dissing someone. Lol.

All I Ever Wanted vs Whenever You Call (39,574)
by Will from Australia
| |
|
|
I can't believe I never noticed this until today, but I was listening to All I Ever Wanted and Walter A came into my mind and literally while listening to All I Ever Wanted I paid more attention to the background arrangement of the music and realised it's actually an early version of Whenever You Call. Granted, WYC is much more dramatically sung by Mariah, but there's even similarities in the vocals. Go listen to them and see if anyone else agrees, or disagree "I will hunt you down."

Stephen / TAOLG teaser / MCIIY (39,573)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
Stephen, I agree with you 100%. When I heard TAOLG teaser, I thought it was in the same vein as "Christmas Time Is in the Air Again" from MCIIY. Just like you I think that given the fact that it is going to be released around the Holidays, that type of sound is just right. I was sad when "Christmas Time Is in the Air Again" didn't do anything on the charts, since I love that sound for Mariah. When I first heard TAOLG teaser, I was like: Is Mariah trying to pull a Michael Bubble on us, which would be great, lol.

Mariah's skirt at BET event (39,572)
by Brad from USA

Hi lambs, so is Mariah being thrifty or coy? The skirt she wore to Saturday night's BET event is the dress she wore on Idol that was so stunning. I think I liked it better as a dress I must say. What do you guys think?

One And Only / So Lonely (39,571)
by RadChad from United States
| |
|
|
I like both versions, but One And Only is my favorite. The whole song has so much swag, and she kilt the vocals. The whole arrangement of everything was just on point for me. Definitely a go to song from TEOM. So Lonely was a nice little sequel though, the chorus was killer, MC was flowing at the beginning, cool little jam.
