Vanishing in Sydney (102,772) by MusicfanJ from Germany I just discovered this. Vanishing is one of my favourites from Mariah and I really love this little rendition of it. I love the Butterfly tour, also her voice had a change, but still overwhelming. Her energy on stage, her look, her charisma. She seemed so happy. Just wow. I wish the tour had be released on DVD. Six years have passed since Martyn's light was so sadly extinguished at the Manchester Arena (May 22, 2016). Martyn was effortlessly fair-minded, generous of spirit and had a wonderful sense of humour. His death and the deaths of those other souls who perished in the attack was senseless. I wonder if you would mark the anniversary of his passing somehow on your site as he was, if anything, one of the all-time greatest Mariah fans and an avid visitor to your messageboard. So much time has now passed that it is not difficult to forget and move on. But I thought perhaps to remind you to rekindle the memory of him in those that may still post on your board who posted way way back when... that he was here, he was as one of us and (as in his favourite song) he will be loved till the end of time. Martyn Hett (102,760) by Mara from United States Will always remember Martyn "Til The End Of Time" and very glad you reminded us Andrew. I know you guys were close friends. I'll never forget hearing the news and worrying if Martyn was indeed one of the victims of that terrible tragedy in Manchester. Martyn was a sweet soul who was one of M's biggest fans. I was lucky enough to post and interacted with him quite a few times on this board. I haven't posted too much as of late but I still come by and read the board every day or other day. Always felt you balanced out the board Andrew. Maybe we can all play "One Sweet Day" in Martyn's honor and know he is shining down on us from heaven "Til The End Of Time". Prelude to my next topic (102,743) by Bobby A from United States I have comprised some overall stats of Rainbow and Daydream in all areas and I have discovered some impressive stats. What I have discovered about Rainbow compared Daydream will get everybody talking and shine new light on MC as a brilliant artist. Rainbow was a huge success story for MC despite how Tommy sabotage its success. MC had total creative control during the recording and promotion of Rainbow while Tommy still had his puppet strings on MC during Daydream. Daydream was an enormous success, but MC lost such much control during the album promotion and looked defeated during her Grammys lost when she gave Columbia the best album of her career at the time. I will leave it there. I don't want share too much more of what I discovered about Rainbow being a huge triumph for MC. I don't think Rainbow has ever been called MC's liberation album But that is exactly what it was before Mimi was emancipated. Stay tuned for new post Saturday evening. My issue with Rainbow (102,748) by Randy from USA I swear, I really do not come here to be negative. But that era introduced something insidious. Mariah's first lip sync was on the Oprah show in 1997 when she lipped Butterfly. Afterwards she sang everything for Butterfly and #1s live. When the promotion for Rainbow started that's when she started regularly lipping climaxes. Look at the ten thousand performances of Can't Take That Away. I agree with you the album is amazing from start to finish. But that was around the time Mariah started deceiving us live so I can't wave the Rainbow flag. (Sunday 21 May 2023; 02:18)
