Re: Lotto/Mariah (99,998) (100,012) by Stacey from USA
I was in my car running some errands and Breakdown started playing. How she harmonizes her lower and upper registers during that 2nd verse just blows me away.

Re: So much for my dream (100,002) (100,010) by Bobby A from United States
What if the remix goes number, would it count as MC's 20th number one? It may happen. Now wouldn't that be something for Mimi in 2022? I can hear it now at SHOF ceremony. "She is the female singer songwriter who just earned her 20th number one song this year. Miss Mariah Carey." Lol.

Happy Anniversary Mariah (100,007) by Terna from Nigeria
I just wanna know Mariah, why do you call them [anniversaries] though. Lol. That aside, I'm taking this time out to appreciate you and I know I can speak on the behalf of other Lambs to let you know, [you] are truly [loved] and we appreciate you just the way you are. Thank you also for following your heart and making music that has healed and continues to heal us. Stay true to yourself, and stay blessed. Much [love].

Imagine considering yourself a lamb but using the "B word". How passive-aggressive. That could never be me. Happy anniversary.

Breakdown hands down one of her best songs, amazing lyrics, gorgeous melody and a stunning video. Should have been a #1.

Happy Birthday Mariah. I hope you have a wonderful day with your beloved ones. I wish you the best from my heart. Health and happiness to the one and only Miss Mariah Carey. I'll celebrate the day with "The rarities" and the "Anytime you need a friend" live version from Tokyo. Cheers.

Re: So much for my dream (99,993) (100,002) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I have to say that I love her "old" remixes like Honey, Fantasy, The Roof and especially the "I still believe/pure imagination" remix and many others. That was a time were all remixes were great and sounded new (the House remixes and the Hip-Hop versions).

Mariah is going to add that verse to the remix. Just kidding.

Happy Birthday Mariah (99,999) by Bill from the UK
I know the B word is banned but a very Happy Birthday to my dear Mariah. Thank you as always for every joy you have given to my life. If only you knew the impact your songs have had on me.

"I'll be eternally grateful, holding you so close to me."

Breakdown is just pure class. Such an understated, elegant, and sincere composition. The absolute highlight of Butterfly for me.

Happy Anniversary to Mariah. Here's hoping you do what makes you happy, and bring you the most joy, this year and that you are surrounded by loved ones as you celebrate.

Lotto/Mariah (99,996) by Stacey from USA
We all know Fantasy, especially the remix, are timeless. If this remix incorporates Mariah's version of things the right way, "big if" I know, this could be the good exposure MC benefits from. Like Bill, I'll hold judgement until I hear the song. Trying to stay positive, although it's hard with Mariah these days.

P.S. I listened to Breakdown today.

Re: Channeling my inner 90's Mariah (99,992) (99,995) by Stacey from USA
I think she got close to her glory days when TEOM came out, as it reminded me of Daydream. But yeah, something definitely changed after Glitter.

Same. Though looking at that cover photo, Mariah is finally the one not showing the most cleavage. Silver linings.

I'm going to have to reserve judgement until I hear the collab, but I do get the sentiment.

100% Mariah was never the same after Glitter.

Channeling my inner 90's Mariah (99,991) by Jamie from UK
Just watched an old clip of MC singing Dreamlover with the [Price] sisters as background and I got to thinking, I'd love to speak to the [Price] sisters to get there spin on Mariah then and the "change" in her since 2001. I love both Mariah's but it just intrigues me how much she changed. Maybe [I'm] just reminiscing on more innocent times when I was younger but to me there is a definite change.

Re: So much for my dream (99,986) (99,990) by Aliya from Canada
I personally love when Mariah collaborates with rappers, but it has to be the right one. I'm not sure about this rapper Latto, I'll be checking her out to see if she has actual talent. But I love the Honey remix with the Lox. I'll be Lovin' You Longtime remix with T.I. I Know What You Want with Busta. You Got Me with Freeway and Jay-Z, etc. I know that hip hop is a genre she really loves, and I love to hear her on it.

Re: So much for my dream (99,986) (99,989) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I hope Mariah doesn't have to resort to just using her back catalogue at least in the next 10 years because I want her to make more original new songs. As far as her jumping on a new rapper's song, I think she understands the music business has changed. It's all about a viral moment if she wants to stay relevant. Plus with BE basically having the same sample as one of her biggest hits it's quite natural for her to be featured on it. No harm in her having a viral moment and create momentum for her to release her own stuff. This feature will also introduce her to a newer generation/fan base and shed some musical light over the dark dank Mariah less world they've been living in hahah.

Re: So much for my dream (99,986) (99,988) by MusicfanJ from Germany
The same here. I've never heard of this 23 year old rapper, but just no. I'm so tired of rappers. Real RnB, Soul, and yes Jazz would by my biggest dream. But you're right Randy, maybe in 20 years. Lol.
