"You and I" is one of the fan favourites, and I find it a bit strange you have never seen it. "With you I'm born again" was not at Live 8, I think it was on BET, seen it thousands of times, one of my favourites.

That song I have seen a lot of times. He wrote about "With you I'm born again" on the Live 8 concert. That song I have never seen (on that concert).

Why so critical?

Her head voice sounds froggy and even the high notes sound flat. It is not the same as it was. Everything fades away.

I feel like she gave everything she had to record E=MC2, you can really hear it, singing on top of her lungs.

Just Google You and I Mariah Carey. She sang it at a BET tribute to Stevie Wonder.

I have never heard that version. Tried to [find] it with no luck. Anyone who has a link?

Re: You and I (100,664) (100,665) by Bobby A from United States
I feel that MC's vocals nodules just became worse with the breathy vocal singing and with age. Why did she start singing like that? Has anybody noticed that she can't sing like that anymore?

Re: You and I (100,663) (100,664) by T from USA
Mariah's consistent vocal decline started during the Adventures of Mimi tour. I went to two separate shows and neither of them were particularly good vocal wise. I was so let down. I wasn't surprised when E=MC2 didn't have big vocals and the start of her using auto tune on songs which continued to now. It's almost like she gave every last bit of voice she had to record and promote TEOM. I'm so glad it paid off for her, even if it cost her the most precious thing in the world.

Add up, "With You I'm Born Again", Live 8 performance - part when Paul McCartney asked her to sing. Missed those times when she wasn't worried if she can hit the next note to sing.

Those 98s to 06s performances are raw, raspy but oozing with grace and confidence

If Only You Knew / Somewhere Over the Rainbow (100,662) by Edward from USA
Also revisited "If Only You Knew/Somewhere Over the Rainbow" medley tribute to Patti Labelle. Now, that was an epic performance to me, sadly there's not a HD quality audio of it online.

You and I (100,661) by Edward from USA
I was just revisiting Mariah's "You and I" tribute to Stevie Wonder and I thought it was simple but perfect which showed that sometimes less is more. She doesn't look much different from a few years past so I was a little nervous waiting for the moment where she would be in her head, but she never was. She was just singing with such confidence and grace, she knew she would deliver and she did. I miss that Mariah so effing much. She stood there without help, spoke with confidence and sung with her heart. Those whistles were angelic.

I have those "Anytime You Need a Friend" remixes as a UK Dj Exclusive Double Pack, playing it regularly on my LP player, my most previous Mariah item.

Re: MC's masters (100,656) (100,658) by Bill from the UK
I think she owns the Sony masters, hence why The Rarities and MC30 EPs were issued. She had trawled through her archive to find all that stuff.

MC's masters (100,656) by Bobby A from United States
I just finished watching a ABC documentary- The Sound of Freedom. There was a whole segment about what Prince did to own his masters. He was credited to changing the game for music artists to own their masters. It is reported on the web that MC only owns her Glitter masters. I wonder why she hasn't asked Columbia and Island/Def Jam for her masters. Rihianna left Island/Def Jam with her masters. If Ciara can ask for her masters and receive them for free, surely MC can do the same.

Re: New cover song (100,645) (100,653) by Bobby A from United States
I would say She's Gone by Hall and Oates, but with a different title of He's Gone. It would be beautiful for MC to sing produced by Harvey Mason Jr and background vocals and harmonies by Daryl Hall himself.
