Christmas in July (109,802) by Dove from United States The MC Fortnight [sic] skins news got me thinking about the Christmas ornaments Mariah sold on HSN when she was pregnant. They were only $50 and you got 24 in a sturdy box. I looked up the segments on YouTube and I love Mariah when she was on HSN. She was so funny. That's the classic Mariah I feel like I know. I love that she was super pregnant but was still out there living her best life like it's golden. I don't think she's as vain as people think. Otherwise she wouldn't have appeared on television super swollen and pregnant. Last year I saw Martha Stewart and Snoop Dog Elf on the Shelf dolls at Walmart. The whole time I was thinking Mariah should make one too. But please for the love of God make her face pretty. A lot of the merch doesn't even look like her. The inflatable last year was cross-eyed. The problem with Type: Dangerous (109,774) by Brad from USA There is simply nothing uniquely Mariah about this "song". Her name and voice are a "brand" at this point and there is a listener expectation of something unique to her sound or abilities with every song. Most of her songs deliver that. Type: Dangerous does not. Any person could sing this "song", as it never results in a moment that is identifiably Mariah. It's bland, generic and in some places crass. Does anyone really want to hear a 56 year old Mariah calling people "hatin ass hoes"? Apparently not. Not to mention ya don't do that as a mother when you have a teenage daughter. Bad move, Mariah. We all know she can do better while still being "on trend". This song is just garbage. And it reflects poorly on her judgment that she didn't realize it before putting it out. She has taken the safe turn for years, and it's like that for most of the people in the music industry. With TD I was so thirsty for something new, that I swallowed the song for a day or two, but it was soon forgotten. I do agree that the lyrics doesn't fit her age or the style I wished for, but I'm not the one making the songs or decisions. I don't think a lot of teenagers will discover her music and think of her as brilliant or fresh. It's us, the middle aged fans, that listen to her music, and I find those kind of lyrics a little immature and not artistically deep or clever. So, let's hope you're right B. I don't listen to a lot of rap music, but I remember in high school my cousin and best friend did. So I recognize those voices. I wish they would have included her second verse, though.
