Yall feel like playing a list game? So the concept is choosing 2 non-single, favorites from each album and adding an additional 2 bonus non-album songs to create a rare compilation album. Hope I explained that correctly. I'll go first, hope yall will join in.
1. Prisoner 2. Alone In Love 3. So Cold (I actually love this song lol) 4. The Wind 5. I've Been Thinking About You 6. Everything Fades Away 7. Long Ago 8. I Am Free 9. Babydoll 10. Outside 11. How Much 12. Petals 13. If We 14. Want You 15. Yours 16. Subtle Invitation 17. So Lonely (Pt.2) 18. Joy Ride 19. Migrate 20. For The Record 21. Standing O 22. Ribbon 23. Meteorite 24. Faded 25. Caution 26. 8th Grade 27. Skydiving (the actual studio version) 28. Help Me Make It Through The Night
Forgot how extensive her catalog was, thought it would be shorter lol well it is a compilation album. I omitted her Christmas albums to keep the flow of the songs going. Btw, I asked chatgpt for a list of Mariah unreleased songs to refresh my memory and I was surprised to see a few songs mentioned that I've never even heard of. I'll discuss this in my next post.

One Heart, One Voice (109,590)
by Lambi from USA

Thankfully, my name's already short and no, I've never had any beef with anyone named Eric. I've called out the webmaster in the past for butchering my statements and unknowingly taking me out of context, but that's just the journalist in me. To his credit though, he's gotten way better since then.
I've also spoken up about bias and the lack of space for people to defend themselves. That kind of atmosphere is why people end up leaving. It might be just a fan site, but it parallels how people leave countries like China, Russia, and Iran over free speech issues. The stakes are obviously different, but essentially the principle is the same. I felt it's an important issue to be aware of before completely pushing a lot of lambs away.
At the core though, we all just love MC passionately. Most conflicts eventually blow over. I've buried the hatchet with you by the way, lamb. Hope you have a great day.

New single soon (109,589)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

|
|
How's everyone feeling about getting another new song in the coming weeks? There's rumours it might be next Friday. I can't believe we went from 0 new Mariah songs to 2 in such a short span. She said the song will be "Summery" I wonder what that means? Are we talking #B, IBLYLT, TMB style? If so I'm pumped I would love to blast Mariah all summer. This also means we'll get a new video soon. I'm sad we never got a cool remix for T Dang but honestly it's a good song and I'm still playing it. My husband keeps repeating "I don't have time for the rigamarole" hahah. I hope for the next single we have the video ready in advance and possibly a remix and some more radio deals like T Dang. We also need some clever promo like I mentioned before. She focused too much on just radio shows this time, we need more diversified promo and fun skits.

No slapping anything on the album (109,588)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Yes, no covers this time. Type Dangerous should not be the album opener. I believe MC16 is going to be something special with 11-12 songs. Daydream was an instant fan favorite and a mega success for MC because of it. Plus, I believe a 11-12 song album is a part of a marketing strategy for increasing streaming and pure album sales for the first week of sales. Anyway, I guess this time next Thursday we will hopefully get the 2nd single.

No. No. No. No. No. We are not slapping covers on the end. That's how we ended up with One More Try at the end of insufferably long MIAMTEC. That's the brilliance of Caution. It's short. I hate The Distance, 8th Grade, One More Gen and Giving Me Life. I have a feeling any more songs woulda dragged the album. And woulda been another title/concept from slang. Charmbracelet MCIIYou and MIAMTEC are my least favorite MC albums. I feel like pruning could've helped all of them.

Yeah, that's where my mind instantly went. Standard 10-12 songs plus remixes and then the extra handful for the deluxe, potentially after Christmas. Milk the era, girl.
Ooh, and while I'm quoting you, can you share how Mariah's popularity was born in China and how it's evolved? That'd be super interesting to know. Like the story of "Sister Cow" being a term of endearment for her, is that canon of fanfiction? Who coined that? Are lambs in China called calves?

MC sweet 16 promo-direction needs to mirror her vibe (109,583)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
I'm not too bothered about the direction of MC16 as long as it's authentically where Mariah is in her life. That was the beauty of MIAMTEC and my darling "Caution". We all know she's the queen of ballads (love songs and introspective moments) as well as flirty, fun and even risque songs and it all comes together beautifully on every single album she produces. I don't worry about quality so don't anybody get me wrong.
I'm talking about her choosing the right singles that mesh with her current mien whenever she drops them. Type: Dangerous works effortlessly because her "nonchalant" vibe, lately, has been in full effect and the song fits: melodically, lyrically and vocally. Mariah right now is very understated.
The way how a lot people pick dogs that resemble their appearance, these "puppies" from the mother-album need to look and sound like their owner or it will confuse the listeners. Mariah's done that amazingly well with her Christmas projects, she dresses the part, talks the talk and walks the walk. The public eats it up, year after year and the promo goes on autopilot with very few but strategically sound moves. It's easy for her because why? It's authentic, her genuine love of and for Yuletide.
Is anybody picking up what I'm putting down?

Possibly the most melodically void and soulless piece of music I've ever heard (109,582)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |

By anyone really, but Mariah especially. I listened to it (ears bleeding the entire time) once and never again will I press play willingly on this Whiny Wally production. If Guantanamo was still operational this "song" would have gone diamond over there. Whomever A&R put this all together needs to be lambasted. Please don't let's ask for a live rendition. Not even ironically.
The good thing is I don't remember a lick of the melody or anything about it beyond how awful it is. Yay T:D AA+ is a great palate cleanser, that's the #1 song playing on my internal radio for weeks now. So all is well in the land.

Thank you for the news, I appreciate it.
It would be great to have circa 14 songs but 12 is still ok. I hope the new single will be a bigger hit than Type Dangerous, which I love as well, but I think is was really more oriented towards us, the real fans who stuck around.

One Heart, One Voice (109,565)

Appreciate the mediating spirit Bobby A. You are truly a godsend. Keep it up. Everyone's allowed to have opinions of course but everyone is also responsible for their opinions. The lesson here is you can't just say ridiculous things and expect not to be called out on it. It's good to be the adult in the room to snap toddlers back to reality. Therefore members aren't just spewing disrespectful unhinged remarks like, "Her voice is so shot us board members probably sing Hero better than her now." Words have meaning and a reprimand was warranted.

Okay so you're basically webmaster or at least a close buddy of him. No one is allowed to have a rebuttal and must be silenced because webmaster is biased.

A reprimand was warranted, lol. That's it Bill, you are in your room the rest of the night. No TV.

Article: Mariah Carey confirms her new album is finished (109,574)

MC was probably thinking about Circles, I Wish You Knew, Mine Again, Angels Cry, Languishing, Cry, Camouflage, and Portrait type of ballads when she responded to Zane and Ebro.

I'm just curious what Mariah ballads mean. Ballads before WBT or WBT clones?

MC vs MC (109,573)
by Tijl from Belgium

Frankly, the current pop culture is built on '90s throwbacks; fashion, music, cinema. TD: reflection on an entire life and career yet to self indulgent for the general public. Do not get me wrong, I truly enjoy the Mimi "misms" and easter eggs although I doubt the general public agrees. IAEGYEL: from a PR point of view, a true chorus, endorsement and links to a major French fashion house and Naomi's support. Anyway, we'll see what Mariah's next single brings the table.

I love Miley's album. It is great. But EGYEL is not really contemporary. It‘s as throwback 90s as it can be.

Summer fun songs (109,572)
by Randy from USA

Jaker20 we never agree on anything but I could not disagree with you more on this topic. I actually would rather an album full of heavy, self introspective songs. I listen to Languishing, Anytime You Need A Friend, Close My Eyes and Through The Rain constantly these days. I appreciate Touch My Body for the melodically driven verses and the camp video. Shake It Off is fun also. Songs like that are needed. But so are songs like My All, Petals and Vanishing. I think we're getting both on the new album. I wanted a heavy Adele-like album with songs like Hello, Easy on Me, Million Years Ago and Someone Like You. That's not where MC is. I don't even think that would sell for Adele at this point in today's musical landscape. But some of us are heartbroken or want our hearts broken. Not everything can be light.

Wonderful, I can't wait. I hope the title of the album will be short. That it has a summer sound is great too. I'm really excited for it.

One Heart, One Voice (109,568)

I had a nine hours long drive yesterday and was listening to the Barbra song and many others including Whitney's I Look To You. Both of them got this metallic sound in their voices at that point in their careers. As you said, she will never tell us the truth of what happened.

As I said before, chill out for a change. You'll notice you've made a bit of a fool of yourself as I didn't say I could, although I can sing "the way, hey" from Hero without needing backing tracks, backing singers, auto cues, lip syncing, lighting, and an army of men to navigate me across the stage.
I'd direct you to this really good platform called YouTube. From there, type in the search box "Mariah Carey cover/karaoke" or words to that effect. You'll be presented with an almost inexhaustible list of unprofessional singers, amateurs, and hobbyists who can carry the tune of Hero just as well as Mariah did back in 1993.
Mariah *was* one of the greatest vocalists of a generation, but sadly isn't any longer. How or why that happened will only ever be speculation because she herself will not come clean about what happened to her voice, and continues this masquerade of being this phenomenally good singer when she simply isn't any more. If you genuinely can't see that, then you are just another delusional yass queen who has no place in the fandom, as you're part of the problem as much as she is, for continuing on the facade.
