I’d say track 3 is "Do you think of me".

I'm thinking these might be good guesses:
Track 2 - Can You Hear Me Track 7 - Slippin Away Track 8 - Out Here On My Own Track 9 - Loverboy (Firecracker sample) Track 10 - I Pray Track 13 - Lullaby of Birdland

I didn't know Martin Denny wrote Firecracker. Maybe the one I've mentioned is a different Martin Denny. But, wow, if we finally hear the Firecracker version of Loverboy that would be amazing.

Indeed good question from Todd. I also feel like Randy with the care-free thing. Since Corona pandemic started, life is truly hard especially mental. I do think I had a nervous breakdown too because everything is just too much. Looking at empty busses, and the people with the masks everywhere is scary and still feels like a movie. The ususal stuff like going out to the city, cinema, restaurants, meeting people, shopping is no more fun. Normal life has stopped since 6 months. I only feel good if I'm in the nature, there I calm down and find hope. The only "good" thing about the crisis is, that it shows you what is important and what not. A lot of things need to change. Please take care everyone and stay healthy (mental and physically). Let us enjoy Mariah's new album and book in autumn. Some deflection will be good for sure.

Okay wow good discovery R-A. Here's what I can deduce.
2. Can You Hear Me 3. Do You Think of Me 4. Everything Fades Away (probably) 7: Slipping Away 8. Lesley and Michael Gore were songwriters from the 60s/70s, do assume this is a cover. 9. Okay mini heart attack. Martin Denny is a lounge musician who was known for tiki bar music. I have several of his albums, if Mariah has used one of his songs for the base of hers this could be brilliant. 11. Same writers as We Belong Together. Maybe a remix or alternative take. 12. MC most notably worked with Loris Holland during Merry Christmas, mainly on arrangements though. 13. Lullaby of Birdland (this was written by Shearing and Weiss, and was on the original tracklisting of The Art of Letting Go and performed by MC on the Elusive Chanteuse tour)
The fact there are several Carey/Afanasieff compositions is exciting, but knowing past compilations and the "fan favourites" line on the website, these could easily be Hero, Butterfly, Close My Eyes etc. So I am trying not to squeal too much.
I really hope the Carey-Margulies composition is either an unheard song from the debut era, or a demo. But, again, could easily be a "fan favourite".
I'm a bit disappointed there isn't more Carey/Margulies content, as this indicates the CD does not contain any demo songs from those early days.

That's the attitude. I'm tired of all the negativity, I'm just happy Mariah is still giving us performances and new music. Be happy it takes more energy to be negative.

I just googled Mariah Carey and Martin Denny together and it seems like we might get Loverboy in the Firecracker version because he wrote it, according to this article. So excited.

I think track 13 will be Lullaby of Birdland, because Shearing composed it and Weiss wrote the lyrics.

I just popped in to give some props on this song. It's amazing. I love it. I can't believe we got music like Crapfinity and the Sh*t I Shouldn't Have Made remix when she had stuff like this song in the vault. I can't wait for the new album.

This song was so much better as "There's Got to be a Way". I don't know. I wanted to love/like it but to me it's very much like a flavor of Ben & Jerry's ice cream that I would call "Kitchen Sink". Just too many disparate ideas and genres in one song for it to really work. I wonder if that is why it was shelved. Who knows. Anyhow. Now we know.

Wow this seems different than than typical Mariah songs, both lyrically and sonically. Uplifting but in a more extroverted way. An older song yet very fitting in 2020.

I come on this board infrequently, and whenever I do, I'm astounded at the negative, nasty, judgmental posts made by a man named Andrew. Why is this allowed? As a somewhat-outsider peeking in, I can say it really affects the entire board, making it a somewhat negative space that I don't want to visit much longer. It drags the entire board down; it makes the board an unpleasant place to be. I understand that he may have some mental issues or something, but I think his insulting behavior toward other fans should have him banned by the webmaster.

The only thing I can offer is that Shearing/Weiss are the composers of "Lullaby of Birdland".
Track one could presumably any one of a number of songs from the demo - but "Here We Go Round Again" is definitely the most notorious. Others include:
- Unspoken Emotion - Surrender To Me - Now You Got My Heart - No Doubt - Let Me Go - Into The Light - Echoes Of Love - Don't Take The World Away - Do You Ever Wonder?
Track 8 - Lesley Gore was a popular singer/songwriter. Michael Gore was her brother and a songwriter. Some songs they co-wrote together include:
- Maybe Now - I Won't Love You Anymore (Sorry) - Hold Me Tight - Out Here On My Own - Where Can I Go?
Track 9 - Martin Denny wrote "Firecracker" which was the stolen Loverboy sample.

Track 7 has to be Slipping Way Track 10 is I Pray Track 2 is Can You Hear Me? Track 1 is Here We Go Round Again Track 8 has to be a cover song Who is Martin Denny, George Shearing, and George Weiss? So we are getting 4 new Water A. songs. And we will have 3 new JD songs. A Loris Holland collaboration will make it onto the album. Somebody pick me off of the floor.

Everybody go to Wikipedia now and look under MC's compilation section. The Rarities songwriter credits are listed but no song titles. I am sure Bill or Edward and Robert-Anthony can figure out the song titles. Lol. This is really good y'all.

Stacy. Is your birthday October 2nd as well. Happy early birthday. Thought I was the only one getting a special birthday gift from Mariah this year. You mentioned you're out west? Any chance you're in Arizona? I moved out here two years ago and haven't met any lambs yet. Would be nice to meet up for a splash.

Normally I'm harder on MC, however living in a post-covid world, I need to share this thought I have. Whatever MC decides to put out into the world, it's truly for the love of her fans. She doesn't need to do anything for the money anymore. She has all the money and security to go anywhere she wants without ever opening up her mouth. The 2 GMA songs were expertly enhanced. It took me several watches to discern this. Nevertheless, the quality was outstanding. She composed 2 songs for the enjoyment of her fans and to promote her 2 projects. I think as fans, we have to acknowledge she is human and is subject to age and decay. Her instrument is not what it used to be. She/we all know this. That's ok. We have the memories and the records to listen to. We shouldn't make her feel bad about the fact she isn't what we want her to be. It's actually quite cruel to not let people age gracefully. She is a gift to the world everyday she is still here. She has the most extraordinary talents (voice/lyrics/production) one could only wish they had. Let's give thanks and honor her while she's alive to see her flowers. I can't wait for the book and rarities album. Thank you Mariah for sharing your gifts with the world. We are forever grateful.

I'm kinda over all the talk about her voice. It is what it is. She knows that her fans, the general public, know her voice isn't what it used to be, whether she admits it or not. So who cares if she keeps quiet about it. I don't. Her interview was nice. Love her dress. One of my favorite "ensembles" she wears. The performance was fine given I don't care about all the "help" she got. The other day I went back to her Instagram page when she first announced #MC30 every Friday. Go back and look at that visual collage video. Amazing. I can't wait for October 2nd. It will be a nice birthday present to me.
