Re: Save The Day video (95,519) (95,521) by Bobby A from United States
You all should know by now that Ms. Mariah Carey is going to do whatever she wants to do. Tommy is the reason she is like that. I think if he wasn't so controlling early in her career, she would actually listen to other people and make better visual video choices. And you know her baby Brian ain't going to say a word because he is living the good life. I wish that I had a superstar boyfriend paying for everything.

Re: Glitter (95,518) (95,520) by Bobby A from United States
It is a shame. You are so right, Bill. Treacle on YouTube told me this morning that maybe it is because Virgin won't pay to have Glitter produced on vinyl like Sony is paying to have the 16 other albums produced on vinyl. I am so glad that I scooped up a Glitter DJ promo vinyl copy last November. It is going to be a nice Christmas to decorate my study with all of MC's 18 vinyl records on the wall.

Don't judge too soon. She's renaming the song to "I'm feeling Myself".

Re: Glitter (95,509) (95,518) by Bill from the UK
I was thinking the same. My theory is when she recently acquired the rights, maybe it was for digital/streaming only? Maybe she didn't obtain the rights to distribute a physical version? It's a shame because a bright pink double vinyl for Glitter would have ruled haha.

I cringed from the little I saw. Did not want to see more, which is unlike me. I closed the clip. I like your front line covid concept (it would have matched the message of the song).

Re: Save The Day video (95,496) (95,515) by Brad from USA
I agree that the car/vanity angle of the video is quite disappointing. That said, I think it does have to be looked at as a commercial for the USTA more than as a creative production. She is sitting between the two tennis stadiums so I guess it makes sense for her to be in a car, like in a parking lot? But yeah my dead cat could've come up with a better concept for sure. On the flip side, it exposes the song to a broader audience than just us lambs and hopefully Mariah was well paid for it. Sooo. Enjoy it for what it is.

Eric, why isn't my avatar picture uploading? [Webmaster: Maybe because it's not the right format? It must be a jpg, gif or png.]

Here is something I do not know: where was Mariah on that day?

Save The Day music video (95,511) by T from USA
Here's the thing, Mariah is this amazing songwriter and that's what she wants to get across to the general public. But when she makes videos where she's caressing herself in a car it takes away from the song itself. Music is as much a visual medium these days and it's almost like we "see" before we "hear". And then there's a disconnect because it subconsciously gives the impression that someone else writes the songs and Mariah is just the eye candy. How will she pull off lyrics like "And it's too divided, too deep to understand" while she's trying to look sexy?

I just thought about why wasn't Glitter made a available Wednesday as a remastered vinyl? Does anybody know why?

Re: Save The Day video (95,500) (95,508) by 123 from USA
I saw the clip. Horrible. If they must shoot a video, why the same concept that has already been used 1000 times. Riding on top of a car with sexy poses for 3 minutes. Not the biggest fan of the song, but it has a great message. She could have shown essential workers risking their lives like postal workers, nurses, doctors. Shown female athletes striving to win the game. Had Mariah March in one of the protests with her Covid mask on or at least show footage of these protests. Next single please. Is this even a single? It hasn’t been sent to radio. Mariah camp, I implore you to have better video concepts, if only for the nostalgia. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to make a decent video. (How much could have Dreamlover cost? Dancers and a hot air balloon.)

Re: Negative Nancy (95,484) (95,506) by Stacey from USA
I hear you. Three tracks (Do You Think, Everything Fades Away, Slipping Away) are taking up space that could be used for other unreleased songs. And the second disc being devoted to a concert kinda irks me too. I'm sure she has enough unreleased stuff to fill up a second disc. That said I agree with Randy and Edward. We've gotten so much rare stuff lately I can't complain. I collected her CDs, promo CDs, etc for years up until 2007. I had the elusive Butterfly Meme Remixes promo from Brazil. So most of these remixes I've heard. Still though for everyone to have access to these mixes is great. Cheers.

The love for Mariah (95,505) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I like most female singers who can really sing, Mariah, Celine, Whitney, Christina, Barbra, Patti, Aretha etc., but I also love female artist that hasn't got that huge voice like Madonna, Britney, Katy Perry and Rihanna.

But when I read comments on Facebook and YouTube and such, I understand there is a huge competition among those artists based on their fans. Fans argue all the time about who is the ultimate queen. What I have realised tonight is that all those arguments affect me, because I always want my Mariah on top.

Well, the reality is that Mariah is far from being on top these days. Her music doesn't make any impact and she sells very few tickets to her live shows. Those are the basic arguments from rivaling fans who wants to put Mariah down. I can't argue against them, because it's true.

What I have also realised this evening, is that whatever other people say about Mariah, my feeling towards her remains the same. There is nothing people could say that can distance me from Mariah, because music and the artist is about the feelings you experience while listening to them, and the feeling I get while listening to Mariah is always positive. Mariah is my go to artist at all times. I'm so much in love with the music and person, that I will never stop routing for her. Mariah has been my number one inspiration in music, I have invested so much time supporting her, that not a single argument will change my stand that Mariah is the best female singer in the world.

Love you Mariah.

It's on her Insta, so it is. Fire the proof reader I guess. I noticed all that too and things like that really, really get to me.

Best introspective song (95,503) by Bill from the UK
Since very early on, Mariah has often graced her albums with beautifully poignant, introspective songs. Often sung softly and delicately. The Wind, Looking In, Petals, Sunflowers, Languishing, Camouflage, and Portrait. I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting (finishing the rest of that bottle of wine from my previous post).

Have you a favourite? I was listening to Portrait today and the opening really struck me. Where do I go from here? How do I disappear? These lyrics are heartbreaking. For me, I take it to be a reflection on the embarrassment of The Nightmare Era and Mariah's World and Packer and all that nonsense that was going on back then. Imagine being Mariah. Never having any privacy. Having everything you do scrutinised. Your relationships documented in news articles.

How do I disappear? She never will. This is what is so upsetting about this song.

Re: Negative Nancy (95,493) (95,502) by Randy from USA
I gotta agree with you Edward. I didn't expect this many unheard songs. I def wish she had finished unfinished tracks and put them in because the three B sides are unnecessary. They are all over YouTube. Also I really wanted Crave. But I'm excited overall. And I gotta agree with you on my first listen of Butterfly. I remember exactly where I was that album was so monumental. This almost makes me rethink leaving the board. Almost.

Mariah performing at the US Open? (95,501) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Mariah latest Facebook story is very cryptic, but it looks like she will perform at the women's final. I am a total tennis buff and have watched lots of the matches at this years US Open, and will be watching the final. It would be so much fun to see Mariah there.

Article: Mariah Carey reveals the tracklist of "The Rarities" (95,499) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Is this tracklisting real?

1. The year on Do You Think Of Me is missing the parenthesis.
2. Track 6 contains a space before it and therefore misalignment of numbers.
3. Slipping Away is listed as 1996. That is not the year in which it was recorded but released. The other years suggest the years in which the songs were recorded.

All seems a bit odd to me.

If anyone pays £500 quid for those vinyls, they need their head examined.
