Mariah Carey: Casta Diva (93,230) by MC1989 from S (93,235)
by MKO from France
| |
|
|
Hi, this is my first time posting a message. I just read that book about Mariah. The author makes a lot of comparisons between Mariah and different divas throughout history of divas ans myths. I don't always agree with him but it looks that he [did] a lot of research about Mariah. The book talks a lot about MC as the songwriter, the diva and the insecure woman because of her childhood.

Perhaps you should properly re-read your English and check that it marries with what you intend to convey before posting it.

Wouldn't it be cool if MC collaborated with The Monsters and The Strangerz this year. I have never heard anyone mentioned them before. They are a hit making duo.

That's the most 1990's music video of all time. All it needs is shirtless old man in black and white for no reason.

Any French fans here? Has anyone read this book by Vincent Grimaud? I like the description and the cover with MC as Marie Antoinette.

When I first listened to "Supernatural" I thought it would be great as the soundtrack for the sequel to "Children of the Corn".

She answered a man who posted a picture from the AYNAF shelved video saying he was one of the boy angels in the video, saying "Thank you so much for finding this. A good trip down memory lane. Too bad they scrapped this video though I do love my first blow out in the official video."

She's exaggerated that whole covered up from head to toe talk to death for years now. She promoted that same song in baby doll tees and tiny skirts. But maybe Tommy didn't know.

She should've used the original video for the song Supernatural, both are equally creepy.

"The video shows that MC always had that quirky sense of humour. People saying she has changed so much over the years are dead wrong."
If it were: "People saying she has changed her humour so..." then you would be correct. As it stands the claim was that Mariah herself has not changed so much which she evidently has.

Re: MC on the radio (93,188) (93,223)

Hearing a song on the radio is like watching a film on television. It is more exciting because you know millions (or hundreds of thousands) of other people are experiencing it with you concurrently. It feels current and dynamic. Hearing Emotions on the radio would be significantly more fun than playing it alone to yourself in your car.

In the 13th episode, season 31, Frinkcoin there was a Mariah joke. "I've just got a text. Anyone [here] who works for Mariah Carey meet her at the SoulCycle and bring her a kitten. Now." Ha ha.

If they're claiming she's "always" had a quirky sense of humor and that humor is evident from 26 years ago than they'd be correct about it always being present. It's not new. Yup.

Maybe they were supposed to represent little cherubs or cupids. But yeah, they are creepy looking kids and don't fit the tone of the song.

ANYAF rare footage (93,216)
by Billy from Greece
| |
|
|
Ok, first of all I'm cracking up by Mariah cracking up throughout this footage because by her comments it is so clear that she is thinking throughout "what the hell is going on here?" Some shots are interesting but it is by far the most un-Mariah concept we could have gotten and never did, wisely. The actual video and the video of the remix are some of my favorite Mariah looks. However, can we speak about that rare rehearsal footage we got as well? Now, that is worth unearthing. ET must have an amazing vault of Mariah judging from the mini retrospective they did here (ranging from the making of "Someday" and the "Emotions" album signing to later day eras). But, yes, that was one hell of an interesting clip.

Am I the only one that notices Mariah has cleavage in this video? I thought that Tommy always kept her covered up. So is it possible that he saw the video and didn't want her cleavage being seen and he's the one that actually cancelled the video?

I do own the album (since the day of release). But somehow I almost forgot that remix. If I listen to Charmbracelet I usually stop the album with "BOTH".

I bet she has a lot of shelved videos. We almost didn't see the IWKWLI video and shouldn't have. Let's hope she releases the "Shelved, but Shoulda Been a Single" project. Might be a beautiful mess.

"The naked little white 'looking' angel children are a creepy and disturbing approach to a song paying homage to her own Black gospel roots."
Kinda sounds like you're saying white people should not be in the video. And last I checked Mariah didn't have any "gospel roots". What roots are they?
