MC on the radio (93,185) by enwar00 from usa
We Belong Together was on an hour ago and I just got back in the car and Emotions is on. What a wonderful day.

The potential (93,184) by T from USA
After reading the last few days of messages I think we can all agree that the potential is there. Mariah could have a huge critical and commercial darling if she lessened the control like she did on TEOM and debut. Two albums that she had the guidance of someone else and two of her most outstanding releases in her career. Who would she trust to do this with again? Sylvia Rhone?

Re: Rehab by Amy Winehouse (93,179) (93,183) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Mariah would do well with anything that uses the wall of sound production which practially all of Amy's songs were produced with. It's such a lush backdrop.

Re: 90s sound (93,178) (93,182) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Disco seems to be making a comeback. Dua Lipa is clearly influenced by it for her new songs. I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor goes that way next, or if the upcoming Adele record is disco-fied as well. Mariah has dabbled in it sparingly, and she did it twice with MIAMTEC. It would be interesting to see if she wants to do it again. Caution was a mostly a love letter to her 90s - early 00s self. TEOM did flirt with 70s sounds, although more on the classic gospel and R&B side of things. Going full-on modern disco would be fun. It would be nice if she made her own version of Madonna's Confessions on a Dancefloor, where all the songs are mixed like a DJ's set and one song seamlessly segues to the next.

Caution unplugged (93,181) by Dove from United States
Honestly, I doubt this would ever happen but I'm going to put it out there anyway. I would love if she made an unplugged album with just the songs on Caution. Filmed somewhere tropical. With Paul McCartney's band. Maybe went one too far with Paul McCartney's band. I'm sure he would lend them to her for a few nights. They're both music royalty. It would make an R&B album a little more rock. "I'm not sure how that would sound," you say? I'll tell you: it would sound amazing.

I was just listening to Caution again and instead of Paul McCartney's band maybe Amy Winehouse's band. Especially on Giving Me Life.

Dress (93,180) by Dove from United States
I'd like to see her in my favorite dress ever: the Christine dress from Reformation. Black is fine but I would also love it in nude and covered in crystal beads and with crystal beads on her stockings here and there. And shoes without the platform in the front. I hate how that looks. It looks clunky and not graceful at all.

That dress would look great on her because it would show off her small waist and super long legs but at the same time it's not skin tight and not too low cut. The bow ties at the shoulders add a fun feminine touch. I also like how it flares at the hips slightly. Best dress ever.

Another dream outfit is the red dress with the one diagonal strap Marilyn Monroe wears in How To Marry a Millionaire. I also love the orange one from Gentleman Prefer Blondes but she already wore that one in concert. I'd be happy with a comeback for that one.

I also wanted to add that I agree, her American Idol styling was on point. Hair and outfits.

Rehab by Amy Winehouse (93,179) by Dove from United States
Also love the sound of this song for Mariah. I wonder if she could sample the backing track and write her own lyrics over it?

90s sound (93,178) by Dove from United States
Mariah already did the 90's sound and she did it better than anyone. I would love for her to go all the way back to the 70's and 80's and do a disco album.

Re: Mariah's styling (93,168) (93,177) by Dove from United States
I would like to see her wear more a-line skirts and dresses that flare slightly at the hips.

About the clown make-up: you have to wear a ton of make-up when you're on stage because the bright lights wash you out. She doesn't wear it like that for televised interviews or music videos. If she does I haven't noticed.

Re: The next album (93,172) (93,176) by Bill from the UK
I'd rather see what her and Ben Margulies would come up with these days. There was a freshness to their songs and, with Walter, you sort of know what you're going to get. All the Carey/Margulies compositions were unique and different in their own way.

Re: The next album (93,164) (93,175) by Lainsky from Philippines
Agree however, if she will revisit an album sound as blueprint or baseline for the next album, the debut is undoubtedly good but Daydream or Music Box would be better. These two albums catapulted her to the peak of her career in the 90s and became the standard of the succeeding female artists especially the Daydream. Caution is good I really liked it but it did the same mistakes of releasing or wrong single choices. She needs to give an album like this a rest and go back to her true pop diva self. Her old fans absolutely miss hearing those pop ballads and uptempo like Fantasy or Dreamlover and her new fans will love to hear her on her present voice on this sound. If only Mariah can read these clamours.

Walter A (93,174) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Walter A is a done deal in Mariah's world, she has had plenty of success post Walter. The fact that he has tried to diminish her talent as a songwriter every chance he can nowadays why should she work with him again? Honestly speaking they have created great music together, and made history along the way but truthfully they no longer have a great relationship, and I feel like it is no need for them to work together because they may not have the same chemistry because of the creative differences they experienced during the creative process of the Butterfly album.

Re: The next album (93,170) (93,173) by Bobby A from United States
I would love to see MC do an album in the vein of Slipping Away, Everything Fades Away, Do You Think Of Me, and Melt Away. All of these songs have one thing in common. That is she only worked with one producer while she wrote lyrics. I have been saying Ryan Tedder, Babyface, Darryl "DJ" Camper, and Harmony Samuels could help her craft another well received album after Caution. Throw in Jasmine Sullivan, Taylor Parx, Diane Warren, and Claude Kelly for some help. An album with no rappers would help to signify a mature Mariah that debuted 30 years ago. If I could get another Vanishing and Alone In Love, I would be elated too. Let's hope she's locked up in a studio for the next 4 months trying to give us a new album.

Re: The next album (93,170) (93,172) by Susana from USA
You're absolutely right. We can still wish and request her to work with him. We can like the work and not the person. Maybe she can look at it as simply a business deal. I know she doesn't look at the music she creates that way, but she can't deny the money that "one" song has made for both of them. I mean it's still a creative process for her, so maybe she will consider it.

Best background music and instrumentals (93,171) by Aliya from Canada
Hey everyone. What do you guys think is the song with the best instrumentals? I think "For the Record" has really great music that complements her voice. I also like the instrumentals for "One and Only". I also love "Make it Look Good" instrumentals.

Re: The next album (93,165) (93,170) by T from USA
The last time she "revisited" the first so albums while working on a new one was MIAMTEC. According to Nick Cannon. And although I see some aspects in the ballads and the throwback dance tracks I'm not sure she had the best guidance at the time and the execution was slightly off. I do think the right producers would help her craft songs fitting of her beautiful talent. I also think Walter A, salty as he may be, is one of those producers.

Re: Spotlight (93,167) (93,169) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Thanks for the link. I have the "Devotion" album and I really love her music. Great voice, great artist with class. How rare is that today. Didn't know that there's a new song out there. Fantastic.

It's good to know that are still some new songs for grown-ups and not only for the school kids with the horrible beats that all sounds the same. There's also a new singer from UK, who sounds a bit like Amy Winehouse (forgot her name something with C?) who defenitly brings back the good old soul.

Re: Mariah's styling (93,162) (93,168) by Bill from the UK
If that is to be the case, then we need to bring back Hat-riah. Keep the breasts covered, show less skin, keep it classy. It really is time MC hung up the glittering leotard and embraced the strong, confident, accomplished, revered legend that she is and has rightfully earned.

I always thought her look was best in 1996-1998 when she was earth toned up with her make up. It suited her colouring perfectly, enhanced her naturally big features without going down the clown route, and complimented her hair style, whether dark or light.

Spotlight (93,167) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Jessie Ware is better known for her perfect soundtrack quality ballads more than uptempo hits, but this new song from her is just proof that she can pretty much do no wrong. Classy stuff. I really hope this is further proof that classic dance tracks are gonna dominate 2020. All the trap beats we have been subjected to the last 2 years has been nauseating. I appreciate the genre and it is awesome when done right, but it was just too much in retrospect.

Re: The next album (93,164) (93,165) by Susana from USA
I agree with you that she should go in a different direction from Caution. It by far my least favorite of hers. I would say she isn't afraid to go back to a trued and true formula of her 90's hits since she completely embraced and loved the reaction to her latest #1, and I don't mean going back to work with Walter. I would love to see a song from them working together, but I know as salty as he just was, I don't see that happening.

The next album (93,164) by T from USA
First off, I loved Caution. And it is a nice addition to her vast discography. However I do think another album in the same vein would have just about the same level of success. I understand that nobody should make music depending on how it will do in the public eye but she still is Mariah Carey. And she still should have some level of success. The only thing I can think of is because we're in the 30th anniversary year maybe she could revisit the debut album as a blue print. I would even have a reunion with Walter A and see what happens. I mean I believe if anyone out there can have Adele like numbers it's still Mariah, with the right songs of course.

Re: Everything Fades to MCA (93,161) (93,163) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
And you took their word for it. Sure, it is highly unlikely that Mariah herself is a member of this board. But it wouldn't be so farfetched to think that a member of her team can. Besides, you don't have to be a member of this board to see members' posts. Regardless of the amount of hate on this board which I still believe is more of constructive criticism than actual hatred, there's not denying the fact that this is one of the most enduring fan sites for any artist ever, and I don't think it would have lasted that long if the webmaster filtered out all the negativity.

Re: Mariah's styling (93,158) (93,162) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
I don't think anyone here is denying that how she looks now is definitely an improvement from her image during that dark period. But is it AI era amazing? Hell no.

The 2010s taught us a lot. Our general attitude and outlook towards anything Mariah in this board has gone from defensive reverence and blind allegiance to a much humbler "it'd be better if she did this, but I guess we take what we can get" one. Consistently harping on her vocals is different, but styling is something that she actually has complete control of. And since it's becoming more and more apparent that someone from her team is checking on this board, we might as well respectfully put out other ideas for improvement aside from the usual setlist tweaks and other musical suggestions.

Lol B, Mariah would never be a member of this message board, a few years ago someone asked someone in her team. She is aware of the board but I hardly believe she thinks about it. Too much hate here.
