I can appreciate (84,497) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I can definitely appreciate that both songs released so far are with current producers but still have MC's touch because at this moment in her career she could be trying to sound like someone else just for the sake of wanting to say relevant and I also love how some of these other writers and producers are praising MC for her pen game. Personally I have to disagree with some of you who feel like she should pass the pen this is apart of who she is as an artist, even Tommy Mottola himself said that it was Mariah who made him appreciate the importance of writing and how great of a writer she is. I say that to say this, I understand that we all expect different things when it comes to MC but I feel like this album will have some treats for everybody, but time will tell.

Isn't James Poyser a part of the hip/hop and r&b music you don't want her to do? Unless we're talking about two different people.

M should work with Solange (84,495) by Lexingz from Estonia
You know what? I think MC should look into working, writing, dueting with Solange. She is super talented and their voices and sensibilities should mesh brilliantly. Also, she is one of the most "current" and "cool" female singer/songwriters around right now. And Solange is one of the artists who has great artistic vision and clarity about what she portrays. Just check out her songs like "Cranes" or "Don't touch my hair". I don't want Mariah to work with Beyonce, I prefer Solange because I find her way more interesting artistically and even vocally than Bey (who is powerhouse performer and great singer but whose studio albums I find boring and unlistenable).

Re: Nick Cannon’s mind games (84,484) (84,494) by Lila from United States
You sound paranoid and pressed. Nick has said countless times that he and Mariah are not getting back together. The end. The only people who are worried about Nick wanting to get back with Mariah are fans like you because ya'll want to feel as though he's sitting around eating his heart out when all his actions say otherwise.

Portraits by Walter A (84,493) by T from USA
I imagine what a retrospective song would sound like if it was produced and co-written by Mariah's long time old collaborator who literally was there for a big portion of Mariah's career.

If you really listen to his Vlad segments objectively he was honest while being respectful of Mariah, yes he can talk sometimes and be inappropriate, but he is not the bad guy some people make him out to be either.

But we already have Adele now. And Celine Dion. I do agree that going back to "her roots" may be the only reinvention she has left and might pleasantly surprise the charts. Let her have one more hip youth orientated album before she hits 50 though.

Lol, I got to it before you. Hi, I'm looking forward to the whole interview. I hope dem babies and Golden will be shown. Looks like he has given the littlest one a cameo in the latest movie he's filming about basketball. Very cute.

Ben Margulies was great. I love all the songs he wrote with Mariah. Timeless quality music. Instead of another hot DJ/rapper or famous hip-hop/rnb producer. James Poyser, Walter A., David Foster and many more are top musicians/producers who could bring back the contemporary sound. And I'm sure they would love to work with Mariah again. Or some unknown professionals or at least not so famous ones who could also bring back a more soulful vibe with real instruments. That would be a big surprise and no trend at all. I think a lot of music lovers would appreciate it, enjoy it and buy it.

All of those outlets are pulling from an hour long retrospective of his life and career, in an episode of Uncensored. They talk about his childhood, career, children, etc. The Mimi segment is one part of it and at the end of it he says that they are good just how they are now. So he's been over it and has said many times that there is no going back. Some of you fans are so insecure about anything he says, lol. Sure there is plenty that he can say, but he's been gracious enough not to.

Nick Cannon’s mind games (84,484) by Fresh from USA
So AOL, Daily Mail, Entertainment Tonight, People, Page6 are all writing about how Nick "wooed" Mariah. TVone, Splash TV also uploaded an interview of him talking about how everything started for him and MC. Even got Da Brat to talk about it on Dish Nation. Lmao we see what you're doing Nick. Too bad Mariah don't read, watch and is too in love with Tanaka. We can sense how hard you're trying to make Mariah reminisce of your "romance". But it's too late homeboy. She's in love with someone new. She's just one of your "baby mommas" as your word, now. You did your ex wife too dirty. She's looking the best she's ever looked and is in such a great place. Unbothered, successful and still sexy as hell. Eat your heart out darling.

Very interesting point. In my dreams Mariah is one of those artists like David Bowie (or even Cher or Tina Turner) who keeps moving with the times and releasing new and fresh material in their own signature style into old age. Bowie released some of his best material at age 50 and way beyond - he is also one of those great singers whose voice changed dramatically over the years. Fingers crossed, excited and all that.

Re: Messages here (84,479) (84,482) by Lexingz from Estonia
You know what? To me it isn't even about being a whore or not. I don't care. Rihanna and J.Lo dress buttnaked all the time and that's fine by me, they pull it off and it looks like an artistic statement. The thing is that Mariah's "whore" looks were never very well executed and they just fell flat for the lack of context and vision.

Mariah used to be next to naked in many videos, like Honey, The Roof, Crybaby, Breakdown and so many others. And wearing swimsuits and bra tops and booty shorts during Glitter and videos like "Loving You Long Time" or "Touch my Body". Nobody called her a whore then, because they were obviously just fun, well thought through stage costumes. All of those looks were done with style and taste.

It's not about being naked. It's about lacking style and artistic direction and vision of what the hell the artist is trying to portray. It becomes a problem when the visuals start taking away from the music, which has happened repeatedly for the last couple of years.

It’s been 21 years since she collaborated with Walter, she’s had plenty of great songs without him. They probably wouldn’t have the chemistry anymore it’s been that long. People need to move on.

Re: Mariah dressing like or wearing shoes like a prostitute's, let me quote Dave Chappelle about this topic. It's brilliantly funny:

The girl says "Oh uh-uh, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Just because I'm dressed this way does not make me a wh*re." Which is true, Gentlemen, that is true. Just because they dress a certain way doesn't mean they are a certain way. Don't even forget it. But ladies, you must understand that is confusing. It just is. Now that would be like me, Dave Chappelle, the comedian, walking down the street in a cop uniform. Somebody might run up on me saying, "Oh, thank God. Officer, help us. Come on. They're over here. Help us." "Oh-hoh. Just because I'm dressed this way does not make me a police officer." See what I mean? All right, ladies, fine. You are not a wh*re. But you are wearing a whore's uniform.

Amas (84,478) by Lara from Middle East
Now that JLo is performing, ladies should bury the hatchet and perform together Do You Know Where you're Going to since it's their common song. If they're planning on feeding that stupid feud then I guess Mariah should sing GTFO instead of WY.

Please stop. You are one of the reasons she has become lazy. With You is not single material. It is dated and the lyrics are silly. GTFO would have been a great first single and would have charted high with a great video and not that boring video.

Here's a little video from E discussing Jennifer and Mariah on the AMA awards. Ironically, this is another DCP production. Let's hope we don't have a Nicki and Card moment. Just give us a decent performance.
