Although she has used opening acts before, she mostly does not currently and hasn't for a long time. I just think it would be more interesting if she had an opening act that got the party started. Janet just recently had Nelly and Ludacris open for her on tour. It does draw more people to the shows. I'd love to see her do a non-Christmas US arena tour with another well known artist opening for her. I'm a fan of going to shows with multiple artists. But that's just my thoughts. I have come across a couple social media reviews of her shows that complained that she had no opening act, left the stage frequently during the show, and that her show didn't last long.

I think the reason for Mariah constantly looking at the monitor is because of the new prerecorded vocals with new adlibs and runs which is different from the usual arrangement of what she's been used to in the past years. I hope she'll rehearse it more if this is the new routine moving forward, because from what I observed this is the most lipped era from her starting last year which I can understand given that she's aging. But in all fairness, the general public doesn't seem to notice it anymore so I guess this is better than the past decade.

The monitor watching has been very visible recently. I have to say her China and Brazil outfits have been much better than the Vegas ones. I wasn't crazy about the Rio Butterfly dress though. She has been looking great.
And yes, the monitor watching is extremely annoying. She won't let anyone take them away - she clearly needs them. Is she using it more for covers and songs she doesn't sing often or everything? Maybe the monitor tells her which lines to sing and which to mime? Remembering which line she has to actually sing has to be tricky.
From the looks of it, she's lip syncing as much as Vegas. I'm sure she remembers the words to Always Be My Baby.

It was an awesome concert, and they say it was her biggest crowd ever. She looked amazing, and her vocals were on point. My only gripe was that it felt short, but I loved how she switched up the setlist a bit and still sang all our favorite songs. In São Paulo, after the show ended and the lights went out, she came back a few minutes later and sang IWKWLI barefoot, catching everyone off guard - even her crew. Some fans had already left and couldn't get back in. I wonder if she planned it or just changed her mind last minute.

She's the only person I see do that. We all know Bey, Celine, Britney, Janet all lip but they aren't stuck to the monitors like she is. They all mix lipping with live singing as well like she is currently doing but I don't see them constantly looking down at the screen. She didn't used to do that prior to the pandemic. Is she having trouble remembering the words or where the lipping track goes in and out? It's giving karaoke to me. I wonder if she watches her performances back for criticism and improvement or allows anyone to critique her.

Guys, I am losing my mind thinking in just one day I will see Mariah live for the first time. I feel very blessed and I hope all the Brazilian lambs have the most amazing time. I also think she will deliver a historical performance at Rock in Rio. I will only attend the São Paulo concert. For you guys to see Rock in Rio live it will be available to stream on Globoplay.

MC has linked a distribution deal with Rose City Works to sell the Merry Christmas 30th anniversary merchandise. MC has really out done herself this time with the MC30 anniversary celebration. There are 8 new vinyl, CD, and cassette Merry Christmas items available to order at: www.Mariahcarey.rosecityworks.com.
I am sure the industry's wholesaler leader, Alliance Entertainment, will be allowed to sell some items to our local record shops after they sell out on the Rose City Works website. I am just hoping since I want in my hands one of the 3,000 copies produced Original Master Recording Ultra One-Step vinyl record.

Especially around TEOM era they were photographed together a lot including him being on stage with her at one of the TAOM shows. She had also shared in The Meaning of Mariah how Tommy had racist comments about Diddy when Diddy was new and how she defended his artistry when she was asked about it during some kind of gathering. All this doesn't mean she knew what he did and turned a blind eye, she very well could have had a very different experience with him where he wouldn't dare mess with her during the 90s due to Tommy and him being new and after that she was a bigger star than him. So it could be due to her having a different sort of experience with him she didn't know but it's not true that she cut him off after the 90s. A quick Google search will show many photos.

Her team really put in the work this year, leading with getting her on the Eras tour which got the Swifties behind her. Right before that her 2 songs Nonsense and Feathers were somewhat popular. The Taylor endorsement helped. But she also put out some really catchy, easy to digest pop songs which had throwback good old pop days vibes and almost each song had those viral lyrics like "Espresso" with "I'm working late cause I'm a singer", then "please please please" with "I beg you don't embarrass me MF" which led to so many tiktok reels, and all her videos had very fun replay value. She also has her signature bombshell look down. She basically owned this year haha. I honestly only knew her in passing before she started on the Eras tour.

Ah okay, thanks for the info. Yes, Mariah was the biggest star with Daydream, plus Tommy, so she was safe compared to new ones or wannabes. I don't remember that part in the book. I need to read it again. I think Tommy was right to protect her, the controlling was too much of course. But which husband would let a pretty young woman alone with rappers or a man with a bad image?

She didn't go to all maybe but she went to a bunch of Diddy parties including his famous "White Parties". But I'm guessing Diddy was different with Mariah because she was an established artist by then, he preyed on the up and coming.
