Miss You Most question (91,136) by DavidL from Australia
Hi all, this may be a stupid question but is the version used in the video for "Miss you most an r&b" version? It sounds different at the start with no piano and different to the album version, however this doesn't ever seem to be released on a single anywhere? It sounds like a production trick he loved to use in the 90's.

Can't Let Go anniversary (91,135) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Can't Let Go was released on this day in 1991 and still remains a favorite Mariah track for me she delivered such a beautiful vocal, and it is a real treat the song has been revisited in recent years. Not sure what it is but something really special happens for me whenever I hear Can't Let Go, Love Takes Time, Endless Love and the Butterfly album. Mariah is absolutely one of the main artists I follow that I have been with through every era. All the highs and lows. Her music benchmarks a lot of experiences in my life.

Re: Jesus born on this day (91,130) (91,134) by Bill from the UK
This sounds like it could have been the demo, don't you think? Love the extra "a shining star" line towards the end. As happy as I am with the 2CD anniversary edition of Merry Christmas, including jewels like this would have been ultra amazing. Thank God for YouTube.

Positivity begins next Friday (91,133) by Bobby A from United States
Can you believe next Friday Merry Christmas will be released as a 2CD set? If you can't wait like me for your CD to arrive in the mail, you can purchase at FYE, Target, Wal-Mart, Moving Trading Company, CD Warehouse, Barnes and Nobles and Walgreens. I checked with them all last week. FYE has their Mix and Burn kiosk where you can create your own CD. I am going to create a CD just with the St. John Divine live tracks and add in the live South Central Holy Night track from MCIIY. And I am just hoping that a vinyl set will be released too. Let's get AIWFCIY to number 1 by Christmas day.

Oh no, you did not. You really need to consider taking acting classes with Mariah Carey.

Jesus born on this day (91,130) by Lee from UK
This is apparently an unreleased mix of Jesus Born on This Day. It seems legit.

I'll do it for you sweetheart:

jest, noun
"a thing said or done for amusement; a joke"

Re: Delusional fans (91,125) (91,127) by We are Lambily from USA
Your definition of a "jest" is quite laughable. I don't see the amusement in lying about your "idol". Or using their medical conditions against them. Mariah is a human being and it seems most people here always forget that. Human beings have good days and bad days, I wish somebody in you guys lives filmed all the bad moments and put it on the social media for people to judge. Our girl is the industry biggest hitmaker yet the haters love to point out that Mariah hasn't had one since #Beautiful. Mariah is the second most influential singer ever yet haters say she can't sing. the most successful songwriter yet love to trash Caution but according to the press it's her best project. So many people here only see the bad things but Mariah has lifted up her career more this past year than she has since TEOM and it's only going upwards, now we have the chance to give Mariah another number one and I hope all the lambs come out from their caves and work for that one.

Vision of love (91,126) by We are Lambily from USA
Done with all of my homework so I got time, let's destroy one by one of the silly reasons bill wrote.
1. Ear monitor malfunction
Answer: Every professional singer has dealt with this. Listen to Ed "don't know how to spell his last name lol" defend [sic] Mariah on NYE.
2. No humidifiers
Answer: You should know by know that Mariah's voice gets easily affected by the air.
3. Too cold
Answer: I have to laugh, please use your brain and get why people don't like to sing in the cold, which why winter is the season people lip the most. Almost every Christmas show that is outdoors are [sic] prerecorded.
4. Too hot
Answer: I have to laugh.
5. Stage fright
Answer: Stage fright is a real phobia, and it explains why Mariah slayed the world tour and then giving her worst performance in the only televised performance of the year. "I think" Mariah slays more when she is around fans because she is more comfortable with us.
6. Corset too tight
Answer: Simple biology is needed her, if you block the airways you will sound worse. Period.
7. Michael Jackson's casket put her off
Answer: MJ was a personal friend to her, imagine getting asked to sing first in a funeral when your friend is laying in a casket a few meters away.
8. Didn't want to upstage the queen of soul
9. Wanted to respect her peers
Answer for 8/9: Obviously many people here don't get admiration and respect at all, Mariah just has a whole other perspective around that and it's obvious that you don't get it. Mariah has always shown the upmost respect to the people that came before her with talent. "Sorry Madonna."
10. Bronchitis
Answer: Another medical condition being used against her. So low.
11. Stressful divorce
Answer: You are talking about Rockefeller, she was in the phone with her lawyers for hours before singing and she was late if I remember right, if you ain't right then the voice won't be alright either.
12. Arm in a sling
Answer: A accident being used against her, another low moment.
13. Pregnant
Answer: What? The pregnancy gave her powers, she delivered in my humble opinion the best vocal eras in her career.
14. Not pregnant
Answer: This was new lol.
15. Nodules
Answer: Another medical medical condition being used against her, so low.
16. Too many splashes
Answer: Most of us have done karaoke and we know that you sing worse when you are drunk.
17. Medicated
Answer: Another medical condition, so low.
18. Backing singers missed their cue
Answer: I have to laugh.
19. Sabotaged by Dick Clarke Productions
Answer: They certainly did not help her, they should've cut to commercials and shown her a bit more respect.
20. Late for the sound check
Answer: She is Mariah Carey, the most successful female singer songwriter producer of all time, no b****, everybody else what's too early.
21. Not enough sleep
Answer: Simple biology, the body performs worse while tired. Why wouldn't the voice?
22. Bipolar
Answer: Another medical condition being used against her, so low.
23. Food poisoning
Answer: This was new lol.
24. Mic wasn't turned up
Answer: Never heard this.
25. Shit happens
Answer: 100% truth, life happens, unfortunately we can't be in control of everything.

One thing is for sure, Mariah is and will always be one of the greatest artists and I hate how ungrateful and unappreciative some of the lambs have become. She has given us her all throughout the years, and this is the moment where we should've shown her the most love.

Re: Legends Ball (91,114) (91,124) by Edouard from France
Hey, the funny thing to me is that I absolutely see nothing wrong with the "reason" you brought up. How can you sing your best with a cold? How can you sing your best or at all for that matter when you've just been through a miscariage in the public eye? Mariah may not be her best all the time but one thing's for sure: she always gives 100% of what she has to give in the moment. She's human. Let's not forget that lambs.

I like the JTTW piano mix. I've been playing that one back to back. JTTW and O Holy Night are the only two Christmas songs I play back to back and never get tired of them. By January I'm ready to kill AIWFCIY. Lol.

Delusional fans (91,121) by We are Lambily from USA
Wow so Mariah has performed over 29+ years in at least 1000 performances while given us moments every singer dreams of. And you came up with 25 reasons, and at least half can be debated. So much negativity here, so I'm just leave [sic] this board before I get too emotional. Some people here needs [sic] to just live their lives and let Mariah live. Mariah has the most unique, special and a curse of a voice, it's not a Céline voice, if the air is not right it's gonna sound harsh. Mariah's voice deserves a own Netflix documentary, I don't think half of the people here understand Mariah's voice. The fact that you guys would use Mariah's mental health against her proves to me what I have always been saying, you guys don't care about Mariah but the image more. You guys love to talk about her success yet the first sign of dark days you are ready to drag her down. Dear God please don't ever bring people like that into my life.

OK I think I get what you mean Licia. MC shouldn't be scared indeed. Maybe it's because of her own high expetation, I don't know. She doesn't need to proof. But a try would be nice. Anyway I look forward for the 1 November. Just orderd the CD.

Re: Legends Ball (91,105) (91,116) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
True. It's one of her convenient excuses that she pulls out of her ever accessible excuse drawer. Never bought it for a second. She didn't go at it at the time because it wasn't planned, she was unprepared and she just would have embarrassed herself had things gone wrong. Plain and simple. That excuse was one of the worst she has used, by the way. You could always give a reason without being unnecessarily shady.

Re: Legends Ball (91,106) (91,112) by Licia from USA
Now wait a minute MusicfanJ. I don't know if she would have outsang everyone, but she definitely would have at least tried. Special K yeah even early 2000s Mariah could have shined.

I have to clarify something. My expectation wasn't for any of the singers involved to actually sing during that event. They were there to be honored and not work. What they did was just a wonderful, impromptu surprise. I am in no way implying that Mariah or anyone else was obligated to sing.

Whatever the reason may have been, it just saddened me to hear someone say she was scared to do something that by the time this event happened, she had been doing for a while. I would rather hear someone say she just didn't feel like singing than hear someone say a seasoned artist of her caliber was scared.
