Today begins is first tracking week of 2020 (91,818) by jaker20 from US She is no.1 on iTunes and streaming continues to go up. Hopefully it's strong enough to balance out the expected drop on the 26th, but with no strong competition, it's looking really good so far for her to snatch another iconic record: 1 no.1 in 4 decades. A producer job is really easy when you have a talented artist like Mariah. Mariah has always expressed how much she loves collaborating with other artists, songwriters and producers. Variety - Walter A (91,815) by ADAM from USA Loved this interview. Came across heartfelt, articulate, and sincere. While I was expecting mudslinging and bitter grapes, he articulated his time with Mariah as complimentary, and really respects her status in music history. He obliviously wants to remove the tarnish she has put on his name by ignoring his contribution. I feel really bad. I don't enjoy this either. I hope Mariah being elated with the recent success is in a better place emotionally where she has healed. I work love for them to work together. As much as I enjoy Mariah working with new partners, her work with Walter A is undisputed. The both of them are exceptional together. Price Sisters plus Melanie Daniels (91,814) by ADAM from USA Along with working with Walter A, I would love for Mariah to work with these ladies again. As talented as Mariah's backup singers currently are, they don't hold a candle to the Price sisters plus MD. The soulful, wall of sound they produce on any record is so beautiful especially against Mariah's airy, girly tone. Everytime I listen to Merry Christmas or Anytime You Need a Friend, I'm reminded of their beautiful work together. (Friday 20 December 2019; 16:50)

And sure, some fans can be severely unreasonable with the death threats and there's no excuse for such actions. But none of them would be coming for him if it weren't for his shady, flammable statements in his interviews (no one's attacking any of Mariah's past producers who she has had great working relationships with). She has never denounced his involvement in the song. That is not the same as her skipping over the detail of who produced it, which is the only thing she does in some interviews. She freaking mentioned the old man's name in the Amazon documentary. What more does he want? This is inconsistent behavior for someone who has admitted time and time again how much the song has been a blessing to him. And for him to be agreeing to do these interviews of questionable intentions in a week where it's all about Mariah? Of course he's not gonna be acknowledged as much because Mariah is the artist. As crucial as his contribution was to the song, he's still a behind-the-scenes guy. Dude needs take an entire row of seats to lay on, get a grip of the realistic amount of media attention that is actually afforded to a producer in the music industry and accept that. No one is downplaying the insanity, torment, safety concerns and inconvenience caused by the death threats that he and his family supposedly receives - they definitely do not deserve that. He also has a right to say his side of the story, but he should also be smart to know that it's his statements that fuel this behavior from these fans. It's not about allowing yourself to be bullied into silence - it's about knowing when to decline interviews or at least avoid answering probing questions that could aggravate the more aggressive, less rational members of the Lambily. Not being constantly mentioned by your previous working partner is a small price to pay especially when you reliably receive royalty paychecks for the material you have worked with together. He should stop being a little bitch and be actually appreciative of the fact that not many producers can say they have such a rare lucrative juggernaut like AIWFCIY, and be careful not to disparage the woman who's partly responsible for actually putting him on the map. I'm a fan of Walter's work, but I'm a Mariah fan first, and she has yet to say or do anything that invalidates her recollection of the song's composition, so I stand with her on this. He, on the other hand, is proving himself to be just a whiny, bitter, attention-seeker whose appreciation and respect he has always vocalized for Mariah is yet to be reflected on his actions. AIWFCIY video 2019 edition (91,809) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City) This video was fun, festive, and very Mariah and come together very well. Also I have to say that the three night stint on the Late, Late show was another great strategy by MC, and her team that translated very well. MC had fun, and did a great job on each performance reminding us all she is a strong force in the entertainment industry. Lastly I would like to give a huge congratulations to Team MC, on everything that they accomplished during this holiday season, and now they can enjoy the rewards. Also I have to props to our Mariah for spoiling us this year, and also the success that came along with it, she truly deserves it all. (Friday 20 December 2019; 13:44)

I mean, come on guys. Death threats? Over a co-writing credit? Grow up. Sometimes being a Mariah fan is embarrassing. Walter played every instrument on that record and gave it the undeniable Christmas sheen. Just listen to the instrumental and tell me that isn't a work of genius. That along with the incredible background vocals from the Price Sisters and Melonie D, and Mariah's flawless and dynamic vocal delivery and brilliant lyric is what created this classic. I agree they had magic, but he betrayed her and choose money/status or whatever over her. He took so many producers credit from Mariah, we all know Mariah is the true producer of all of her songs. Mariah deserves to have 18 #1s as a producer. Mariah Carey is the legend she is because of Mariah Carey, did people help her along the way? Yes. Tommy and Thalia congratulate Mariah (91,806) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines I don't know which of Mariah's recent 19th #1-related Insta post did Tommy congratulate her in (he seems to have deleted his comment after all the bashing) but there's this screenshot of it where Tommy basically congratulates her as Santa (a reference to the role he played in the video), jokingly reminding her of the time he said that she wouldn't turn into Connie Francis. He ended the comment with "we did it", which I guess is what ticked most fans off. (And is a classic example of men having to reassert their role in a woman's success.) Below his comment, Thalia also commented a series of congratulatory emojis. Mariah did respond to the man, saying "always the jokester" or something to that effect. Oh well. With Mariah acknowledging Walter's role in the documentary and then this, I guess all is well until the memoir drops. We'll see. (Friday 20 December 2019; 11:35)

She should get this bloke to direct her videos from now on (though suspect the record co only stumped up for quality director because this song is an assured seller). The old one was fine for those that remember 1994, but it did need freshening up for todays market, and this video has the right amount of self satirisation to have appeal. New video (91,802) by Andrew from the United Kingdom Meanwhile back at the ranch, the new video for All I Want is out and it's pretty good. I'm not sure there's enough going on in it to make people restream a second or third time and I think there might be some comments about a possible camel toe but it's fun and professional looking. Talking about how Walter thought the melody was simplistic because Mariah ain't a good piano player, but Mariah wrote most of the song before she went to him. If Walter was this genius, he would've had one major hit without Mariah. I honestly don't even know what songs he wrote. Men always try to take credit for women's work. Just ask Taylor Swift. Walter A (91,798) by Will from Australia I would love Mariah to work with Walter again to see if they can recreate that magic but I reckon it could sound dated and not for this moment in time. He worked a lot with Leona Lewis on her debut as Simon Cowell tried to reinvent Mariah and although I like Leona and those songs, they went nowhere and are forgotten. I have tried so hard to understand you. Me and you have gone back and forth more times than I count, and every time it's because you try to smear Mariah. Mariah has has had her best year professionally since 2014, she finally has her confidence back and it's only going upwards. I wish you loved Mariah today as much as you love the 90s Mariah, I became a lamb during Triumphant era and that song was my jam.
