A No No / JD (86,561)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
JD is credited as an associate producer but the main producer is Shea Taylor meaning JD made a minor contribution to the track production wise.

My Caution vinyl arrived today (86,558)
by MC1989 from Spain

I listened to the album today. Giving Me Life is the best song on the album, and one of MC's best songs ever. This song really needs to be released with a strong video and a storyline.

No, he just receives credit for providing additional production. Missy could add some flavor on the remix hook. She has a very distinctive voice. She can add a short verse at the end of the remix like she said on Not Tonight' "Y'all aren't gonna leave me just to be singing hooks."

Licia you will go down in this board's history as the one who coined the song title "Crapfinity". Haha. As for the ghetto conversation, I don't think MC was trying to get a pass and all that nonsense, I genuinely believe she liked and listened to that music and sincerely wanted to incorporate it into her own sound.

I like the end when she starts saying no in other languages. It's the beginning and middle of the song that just hasn't grabbed me. Lol. I'm trying really hard to like the song because I don't hate it. Nor do I think it's a bad song. Crapfinity is just trash and it's so hard to not hate it or make fun of it. Lol.

As much as I'd love a Missy collaboration, three rappers might just get a bit much on the song, turning Mimi into the guest feature on a rap song. So is JD credited as the producer for A No No in the album credit notes?

I hope Mariah does several remixes of A No No and I love that she's already been in the studio resinging her vocals for the remix, when was the last time Mariah actually resung her vocals for a remix? WBT/DFAU? I also hope she does a remix with Angie, Kim, Missy, and Da Brat.

Lol, I have been a fan of Mariah's since 1992. Trust, I get her fan base was divided and alot of fans jumped ship when she switched up her image and went more urban, oops, excuse me "ghetto". Edward, I see you totally don't get what I am trying to say but that's ok. Interesting to me how you view Hip Hop and wearing braids as totally a ghetto hood thing but hey that's ok. As an African/Cuban American raised in a middle class family growing up listening to Hip Hop and wearing braids I didn't realize I was a wanna be ghetto hood chick looking for a pass. My African American mother would straight pass out holding her heart like she was in an episode of Sanford and Son. Hearing my parents cuss every once in awhile (trust my Cuban father cussed way more) and certain family members/friends having nick names like Fingers and Ghost I guess was ghetto as hell. I guess being ghetto would also apply to my Italian/Irish husband whose nick name is Money. Yes, everybody in his family calls him Money. I betta get my mother in law on the phone and tell her she is a wanna be ghetto hood chick. See folks like me and Mariah aren't trying to get a ghetto pass. Wearing braids, listening to Hip Hop, etc, is what we "ghetto hood folks" see as apart of our culture. So, is our culture ghetto? Is it urban? Hmmm. I happen to think Mariah looks absolutely stunning when she wears her hair in braids and I wish she would wear her hair in its natural "nappy ghetto" state more often. Ok now I am being sarcastic. Honestly Edward it's all good and I am sure that there are plenty of folks who agree with you but you know I don't give sh$t. Lol. Your still one of my favorites "OG's" in the MCA. We been rocking on this board for a long time together.

Shezz I saw the Missy tweet. She needs to go ahead and hop on it too. Bill I agree on hoping this remix doesn't end up like Why You Mad. It definitely looked better on paper. I'm hoping the new team won't allow the same sh*t show type remix to leave the studio.

It looked like he was trying to rope Missy in on twitter. He implied that Lil Kim sent him her verse and he wanted Missy to hear it.
