In love with Sugar Sweet (110,077) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Since I heard the snippet and the full song didn't disappoint. I do hope she's got an MC only version with a second verse because how is she gonna perform it when she's on stage without Kehlani and Sheseea? They have a lot of real estate in the song.

It's a certifiable bop, much more than Type. She's using her comfort zone for the more "poppy" songs now GTFO vocal texture just like on Type. I predict a top 20 BB and depending on how the album performs, even higher. I like that it's an all female collab. Her lyrics, I am marinating on right now. One line gave ne pause but I'm used to Mariah's trolling so it could mean nothing. TikTok is gonna eat this up

MC is in love. I have to admit that the lyrics from Sugar Sweet suggest that they are about someone very special in her life. I guess when we when hear their duet, we will know extent of their relationship. I don't think MC has ever used "baby" so many times in her lyrics. It seems like she wants the ring to get married again.

The evolution of Mariah Carey (110,075) by Jamie from UK
Whilst I love that Mariah is still putting out music I can't help but wonder what went wrong for Mariah. I've just heard Without You on an Instagram post which to me is the pinnacle of Mariah in 1993, you couldn't get much better than that. To now her latest single Sugar Sweet (which I don't mind) but let's be honest she can barely sing this tune and it isn't very taxing on the voice as a were her earlier hits. When I hear old school Mariah I can't help but feel sad at where we are now. A complete transformation of personality and a huge degrading of vocals. What happened? Was it self inflicted or is it just natural wear and tear of a once untouchable voice. I would love to rewind to 1993 when her career took off internationally and just remind her to stay grounded and focus on what's important. I've said this multiple times but I just don't get how we went from Mariah to MC it's such a contrast of personalities. Her early cross over stuff was cool but as I've said countless times she took it too far and I think the partying etc took a toll on her vocals and ate away at her wholesomeness. She might say and pretend that she's always been hood but I remember those early days and there was no pretence, just a natural girl living her best life. Yes we all change but we're still recognisable, I think Mariah took it too far and now she doesn't even recognise herself. Her appearance last night on Jimmy Kimmel is a far cry from who she once was, I would love to sit 1993 Mariah down and show her 2025 Mariah. I don't even think she would relate to that.

I'm speaking from the heart and probably don't understand the ins and outs of the celebrity lifestyle and how it affects you both physically and mentally. But part of me wants to understand what went wrong and what happened to Mariah and why she's so affected now and her voice has taken such a turn. It's great she's still giving us music but vocally and especially personality she's a far cry from what she was. I don't even think Mariah knows herself anymore she's that affected. I reminisce of her dancing on the beach with "to be around you" playing out to her now barely able to focus or speak and can't but help to want to say to her it's ok to be Mariah again.

Bobby A, that was a different person from the UK. It's been nearly two years since Andy last posted here. I think he was dealing with some personal stuff. I hope he's ok wherever he is.

I went back to YouTube, I lean towards "Stay long love you" when she sings "would you mind".

No, I saw him post something in the spring. He did say something nice. Andrew and I had a love and hate history that some of the newbies don't know anything about. I can laugh about it now, but that time was constant reprimanding that I wanted to leave the board. He just didn't like my ecentric personality. Lol.

Mariah pairs leopard print slipdress with throwback hair (110,070) by Lambi from USA
I agree I think the hairstylist and make up artist did good. Just the styling was a bit of a mismatch. There shouldn't have been any straps on the clavicles. Because it became straps + her ginormous necklace + crazy amount of hair + overly done boobs. It was way too much. Should've removed straps, add some sort of lace material to hover her boobs, put the hair completely on the back (or maybe just one side) then a more subtle necklace piece to completely accentuate and feature her neck and clavicle area. This would've been be a more polished, clean look.

I noticed Mariah sports these extra "slutty" looks when she's in peak romance. She quite literally wore lingerie on Ellen in 2009, just a year after getting married to Nick.

Interviewer is the same as mold Ellen and Rosie but you can tell she's just starting out in late night. She's got more of podcast interview vibe honestly and she's lowkey awkward. But to be fair, we never really get anything in-depth music wise with these mainstream late night shows. Mariah may just have to book another Genius interview because that was the most journalism someone did for her catalogue. It was done by a real lamb.

I wonder what Mariah Carey smells like (110,067) by Dove from United States
Does anyone know? Several people have said she smells really good. I really like the vibe she's bringing to the interviews I've watched today. It's like the open, happy Mariah is back. It endears me to "Ginger" a bit more.

Much anticipation yet... I do not feel it. It's a cute song but with little to none personality. Sorry, but as far in the traject of HFIA I perceive it as underwhelming.

Sugar Sweet (110,064) by ADAM from USA
I woke up this AM and before I hit play on Spotify, remembered what this long lost feeling was again - new MC music. It took me back to the 96' when I first discovered MC and would wait in anticipation for the new single, remix or visuals. She was so creative and unstoppable. Today was a good day. I wanted to give credit where it's due, she is finally creating music that's within her range/current voice. She's internalized what we've all been saying for many years and is working with what she has. It's a bitter pill to accept, but I say it with much love and grace. I feel this album will be like Caution and E=MC2. I love Sugar Sweet and am so excited she's on the Afro Beat Caribbean dance track trend. I was begging for this moment from when she did the Unforgettable Remix several years ago. It's such a bop and I still enjoy hearing her vocals in the range she has. I love her instrument and honestly how it changes every few years - it's such an interesting case study in the larger picture for vocalists. Like someone else said earlier, no longer wishing for #1s, just glad she's charting but most importantly making music again. I did like her energy and look for for Jimmy Kimmel - sad he wasn't there and found the guest host cringe AF and flat.

This picture sums up my thoughts on that appearance last night, $5 hooker. Who the hell styles her. She has worn some lovely stuff recently but this look is not fly. Sack the stylist.

Lara, I think the "I hope that you don't mind" part, to me, sounds similar in tone and cadence to Inseparable from Memoirs, "Got photos of us, on my refrigerator" part. Is that what you are hearing as well?

Here For It All (110,061) by Stacey from USA
I was thinking of a time where I was facing a lot of personal struggles. During those moments, I went to see MC on the final night of the CB tour. I sat 15 rows back and she sang CTTA. Before that night, the song was just a song to me. I had never felt a connection to the song. But afterwards, as with Looking In, CTTA became an anthem to me. Go listen to it today.

Oh, they, they can do anything they want to you
If you let them in, but they won't ever win
If you cling to your pride and just push them aside

See, I, I have learned there's an inner peace I own
Something in my soul that they cannot possess
So I won't be afraid and the darkness will fade

'Cause there's
There's a light in me
That shines brightly
Yes, they can try
But they can't take that away from me

Mariah's charting power (110,060) by Bobby A from United States
Based upon the #5 charting postion of Sugar Sweet on iTunes today and Type Dangerous still rising on the radio airplay charts, I feel Here For It All is going to do very well during the first sales week. And we still haven't received the full tracklisting with features and full writing credits. I feel some writers were deliberately left off the Apple songwriters credits list that we saw to keep their feature status a secret.

Off topic: Triumphant Get Em (110,059) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I think the same way. Nick was a fantasy that became a nightmare for Mariah. After him she was never the same. It's a shame how one person can destroy so much. If you trust the wrong people and even marry such a character, it really can destroy you. With kids it's even more complicated. Poor Mariah. I still hope one day she find's a real man who really cares and love her the human, not the fame or money. She so deserves a real, loving partner.

Agree. Not her best look. Glad I'm not the only one who thought the whole interview with Fortune was cringe. No chemistry between the two. As for SS, it's a nice bop. Is it going to blow up the charts, set the world on fire? Probably not. But I ain't mad at it.

Mariah keeps it nice, neat, "sugar sweet" on new single (110,057) by MusicfanJ from Germany
"The early 90's slightly porno look is making a comeback." It's a horrible look for my taste. It should stay at the 90ies. Lol. Why not dress sexy but with class like the "Butterfly" or "EMC2" looks. I hope this trend will not stay long. I love the "Nanny", the sitcom is still hilarious but for a singer that look is not the best choice. But it's good to hear that the interview was nice. Hopefully the new music will make the looks secondary.

Woke up, said my prayers and went straight to listen to the full song. So the snippet didn't do much but the full song did it for me. Such a nice vibe. It felt like sitting by the beach taking in some sun. The harmonies from all 3 voices blended in so sweet. I like the song structure and vocal placements of all 3 ladies. I feel like this album will be similar to E=MC², summer and club songs, some ballads with few big vocal moments, understandably due to her current voice. I'll take it, though. Hoping for a nice, high quality video with some type of storyline and not just beauty, half-naked shots. Would love a remix with just her and maybe WizKid, Rema or even Vybz Kartel.

Just watch the interview and it was also nice. I get why people would think she was uncomfortable due to the host but it doesn't seem that way honestly. Those who know MC's humor would know she was fine and going along with it. Yall remember the ChattyMan UK interviews during her Memoirs era? The host is known to be vulgar and she was fine with it. I think this new interview was funny and I enjoyed it. I would've liked the host to ask her more questions about the music but we all know Mariah doesn't like to disclose anything new that we don't already know but it was fine.

Mariah keeps it nice, neat, "sugar sweet" on new single (110,053) by Dove from United States
It's not my favorite song by her but I don't hate it either. It's on par with Espresso, which was the song of the summer last year. I added it to my summer playlist. I mean it sounds like today's music. I liked GTFO better, though.

Her voice sounded really frail and thin on some parts. Which I guess is what happens with age. I just wonder what the song would have sounded like if she still had the buttery soft texture she had in the 90's.

The two other singers I don't know but they sounded really good. It sounded like 90's R&B. Like Aaliyah/Brandy/Monica/SWV vibes.

If Sabrina Carpenter sang this I think it would be a hit. Not because she's a great singer but just because she's what's in right now. Which honestly, I don't even think is merited. If she wasn't young and pretty I don't think anyone would be interested. Opening for Taylor Swift during the Eras tour really helped her out too.

I'm not trying to bash Sabrina because she's a girl with a dream, just like everyone else, and she will get her 15 minutes, but she doesn't have the "it" factor. I don't see longevity with her. She comes off very "pick me" and that can only be cute for so long. I see a Paula Abdul-like trajectory, which is not terrible.

If I were to put my money on someone (of the newcomers) it would be Tate McRae. She has the "it" factor that Britney Spears had.

Sabrina is like Christina Aguilera and Jessica Simpson trying to be sexy. They have to try. Britney and Tate McRae just are. Anyway, I don't know how I got off on this weird tangent. I wanted to give my 2 cents on the new single but I don't have any more thoughts on it right now. I hope it does well.
