Re: Caution World Tour (85,565) (85,577) by B from USA
The reception to Mariah's new material hasn't been lukewarm. Her new songs are being well received, the problem is her audience is limited by ageism. If The Distance or A No No were pushed by Epic with a Clear Channel deal like With You either song would catch on. I understand why they chose With You as the first single though. It's a safe choice and it's doing well on both the Adult Contemporary charts and R&B charts.

Tyler, I enjoyed reading your post. The "I said no" part at the end is my favorite too besides the "time to cute the lawn" part.

Re: Waiting (85,562) (85,575) by Tevin from USA
It seems like everyone likes this song. What's the chances this will be released as the next official single? We need a video pronto.

Re: A No No No (85,567) (85,574) by Edouard from France
So did I. I wanted to wait but then... I said yes. I got too excited. They really worked on building the anticipation for the project. GTFO to get peoples attention, With You to cater to a mire AC demographic, TD for the HipHop lovers and ANN which to me is the real lead off single just in time for the release November 16th. I'm sure they'll have a video released by then to coincide with the album.

Article: Mariah Carey makes "a no no" for real in her new single (85,573) by B from USA
Did Roger write this? I've read the word irregardless in several academic papers and according to spell check it's an actual word, lol.

Article: Mariah Carey still gets "goosebumps" thinking about WBT (85,571) by B from USA
Joining The Voice as the key advisor was one of the best career moves she's made in years. This clip alone not only displays her creative process but more importantly her humility.

Exactly Mimi L. Thanks for explaining the joke, which I made obvious enough. Things do get lost in translation with American English and the so called King's English.

Heavy drums on WYC (85,569) by Lafa from Sweden
Heaviest drum ever on "Whenever You Call" - a remix. Love it. The only remix I've found of this song.

Edward Scissorhands (85,568) by enwar00 from usa
The kid inside me got excited when I realized that Mariah name drops Edward Scissorhands in A No No. Both MC and the movie came out in 1990 and were two of my favorite things from my childhood, and have remained so as an adult. The fact that they connect almost 30 years later is so random and funny to me. Mariah is one clever songwriter and I haven't appreciated or connected with any other artist's lyrics as a whole as much as hers. Another reason that I am a L4L.

Re: A No No No (85,563) (85,567) by Tyler from USA
I wanted to push off listening to the song until the album came but cave in. I'm obsessed with this song. I don't think they intended to officially release the track but it leaked. My favorite part is the "I said no" chant at the end. I just picture MC having a diva tantrum. I am pretty sure that's where it came up with or punishing Roc for ordering another dog.

Re: Abandon? (85,564) (85,566) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
They do say "I couldn't care less" in America too. RibbonB was joking and she did say "inaccurately" name it "I could care less".

Caution World Tour (85,565) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
It's a great idea that Mariah has decided to kick off her upcoming world tour in her own country first. She should reunite with her domestic fans, especially those who can't afford to go to Vegas to see her residency. The public's response to Caution and its tracks have been lukewarm so far - praises abound, but none of that have really translated to sales or chart positions, or even additional hype from music and entertainment sites. I hope this tour that'll keep her in the US for a while really allows her to promote the album and its singles better, because chances of it doing well internationally stilll sort of depend of how well it has done in the US.

Re: Abandon? (85,549) (85,564) by Andrew from UK
Following the logical semantics debate around "irregardless" I would just like to point out that the American "I could care less" is actually "I couldn't care less" in the UK (which is the sentence that actually makes sense). In England. Where the English are. Speaking English.

A No No No (85,563) by Randy from USA
I finally listened to it. There's a lot going on in my personal life right now. It sounds amazing. My tastes are a bit different than you all: I like Bye Bye more than Migrate, I like MOAIA more than MIAMTEC and I think the best song MC has ever written is RTD. I do agree that this should have been the first single with a hot video with a Lil Kim appearance. I do love GTFO but they killed it before it had a chance to fly, calling it a buzz single. And then they had the nerve to release With You as the first single when the song is as boring as white wall paper with white carpet in the waiting room of a doctor's office. You all say this era is being handled perfectly but A No No is undeniable so again why is it not the first first single? And why is the fourth song released before the album? We've heard half the album practically.

Re: Waiting (85,538) (85,562) by Andrew from UK
Already said, it's a yes yes. This should've been the first single. It's catchy, it's fun. It's like ABMB meets TMB. The rap part doesn't feel like an add on and there's no histrionics I may doubt. It's a yes yes.

A No No impact (85,559) by Jono from USA
The song on her YouTube channel already has a 260k views in 36 hours as of typing this. In comparison, GTFO has 333k in 1 month, and With You has 532k after 3 weeks. Granted those two have separate music videos, but the songs weren't taking off like A No No has. Mariah needs to pull a Shake It Off and demand this be the next single because the response has been overwhelmingly positive. This song has the legs to actually carry/promote the album for a few weeks, before the general public flocks to her Christmas songs and forget about Caution come December.

Barbra's new album is truly special. Really beautiful. I'm glad it's out this week and not competing with Mariah. Hopefully both will debut at number one.

I can't believe only 10 tracks. Surely there is a deluxe edition or Caution Part 2 coming when the tour kicks off. Just sounds like her team has something else planned next year.

Article: Mariah Carey makes "a no no" for real in her new single (85,553) by Matthew from USA
I consider myself more than just a casual lamb and even I didn't get the Mean Girl's reference. Please don't revoke my membership. In any case, I think he's right. Outside of hardcore fans, that word is going to stick out unpleasantly for older or more educated listeners. And the whole nostalgia of the track seems to indicate that's who this is for. If this is intended as a single, she can probably salvage it by replacing the second verse with a rapper. Then again, the younger crowd might not know about that word, so maybe it won't matter.
