Re: Mariah and Britney... maybe? (82,853) (82,861) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I can't believe this rumor. Lol. But if it's true I'll also give it a try.

Brittney and MC collaboration (82,860) by Bobby A from United States
If it is true, I didn't see it coming. It will be unique and unexpected for they both need a song to get radio airplay again. These two have so much in common: a public breakdown, bipolar diagnosis, last album didn't sell that well, and devoted mothers. Maybe the song is an empowering song about facing your struggles and being the best person you can be. I just wonder was it Mariah's idea for this rumored collaboration. Fall 2018 is going to be hot for new album releases. I have made a list with 20 expected artist releases for new albums.

Andrew, despite the general consensus here, I've always enjoyed you and more importantly agreed with your posts. But, I acknowledge I may be too third world for most to acknowledge.

A Carey/Spears collabo (82,857) by Andrew from UK
"Soft, sexy R&B track with 'heavenly' vocal layering effects." So like almost every song Mariah recorded for 10 years. The only bonus to this is that they would probably never get to perform it live so the lipsync would not loom as a threat.

I agree. Definitely another quintessential Mariah performance for sure. In my top 5.

I agree it's a nice photo. They always claim they are in a good place, but even if they are faking I respect them for trying to keep it cordial for the kids. Lord knows they could be acting like these other fools blasting each other in public. Roe didn't seem impressed, but Roc was happy.

I don't know how I feel about this rumor. If it's true I'm hoping for the best although I have reservations about. I'm willing to listen. Lol.

That "Close My Eyes" performance on the Rosie O'Donnel show is just beautiful, almost stripped down. Even though Mariah sounds a bit hoarse it adds extra dimension to the meaning of the lyrics.

Re: Current songs and albums (82,838) (82,851) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Current albums on heavy rotation:
Voicenotes - Charlie Puth (Perhaps the most enjoyable pure pop release this year so far. Done For Me, How Long and LA Girls are just addictive. And he produced the whole thing. This dude is criminally underrated.)
Camila - Camila Cabello (As if there was any doubt why she was the star of Fifth Harmony. Havana, She Loves Control and Real Friends are my faves. Arguably the breakout artist of 2018.)
No Shame - Lily Allen (Her rawest, best album yet. If you think she's been honest before, she's even more so this time - painfully, even. Trigger Bang, Apples and Cake are so good.)
T.K.O. - Mýa (These 90's R&B veterans still stand head and shoulders above the newbies these days. Mýa looks like she hasn't aged a day since 1998, and apparently so has her voice. Ready For Whatever, Open, You Got Me and Ready are standouts.)
R.O.S.E. - Jessie J (There are times when artists rebel from convention and expectations and come up with their best work. By staying out of the charts for the sake of self-expression, Jessie J became more relatable. The allure of Dopamine, Queen and Dangerous is just undeniable.)
Current songs on repeat:
New Light - John Mayer (This is the John Mayer we all know and love. And that video is some ridiculous clip that we never thought we needed.)
Let You Be Right - Meghan Trainor (A little bit of disco is always a good thing. Such a low-key, fuss-free track with a subject matter not often dealt with in pop.)
Leave It Smokin' - Tamia (90s junkies are gonna love this. One of Tamia's most effortless-sounding tracks ever.)
Let Me - Zayn (Not sure why his new output aren't catching fire like his breakout singles were, but Zayn still has one of the best voices in pop and R&B right now.)
Over My Head - Echosmith (The chorus has one of the more interesting melodies I have heard in a while. Sounds very indie pop.)

You are so right about an Epic/Butterfly Records release. I didn't think to check her page on Epic's website. However, there is a chance the new album could be a Epic/Butterfly Records and RocNation release. Didn't Rhianna leave Def Jam 2015 to form her own label, Westbury Road in a partnership with RocNation Records? In addition to artist management, RocNation has a record label division. It will be interesting to see which label's staff will receive A&R, marketing, creative direction and executive producer credit.

Re: RocNation (82,831) (82,848) by B from USA
A celluar provider purchased a million copies of her album and gave them away. Prior to Work she had released three singles that failed to catch on. So, let's hope not, idc if she does a similar deal but I hope we don't get three singles that fail before Mariah calls in Drake for a cheap repeative song with a one word hook. She needs to work with the best songwriters and producers on her new album.

Re: Greatest Mariah performance ever (?) (82,842) (82,847) by B from USA
I think her 1990 performance of America The Beautiful is her best. I love the players reactions to her voice and when the announcers said and the palace now has a queen. She was completely unknown, her single had just been released and she walks out all timid and shook the rafters with her voice. I also love the SNL My All performamce, amd her Grammy performances of Vision of Love and If It's Over.

The Anti roll out was kind of shaky but with Rihanna Roc Nation handles both management and label.

Hey Todd we may have similar tastes in music beyond Mariah. I absolutely love Charlie Puth. I listen to his album Voicenotes daily. Another album that I am obsessed with at the moment is Beerbong and Bentleys by Post Malone. My favorite single that I have on repeat is "Meant to Be" by Bebe Rexha featuring Florida Georgia Line. That is my jam. I would live to see Mariah collaborate with Charlie Puth.

I would have to say when Mariah performed My All on Saturday Night Live. I don't know if that's her "greatest" performance but it certainly sent chills down my spine.

I'm sure I have listened more than 1k times to Mariah's version of You and I. Also I listen a lot to "America the beautiful". I like WBT from MTV VMA, I Still Believe from Billboard, "If it's over" from Grammys, "Close my eyes" from the Rosie's show, "Vision of love" from Blueprint and entire Here's Mariah Carey. And I not really into MTV Unplugged.

Wow. I'm listening to Voicenotes on repeat for few weeks. Just cannot get enough. "Call out my name by the weekend" is haunting me. His voice is magical. Even my mother who is 55 listens to them both. Then on my list I have Camilla Cabello, Portugal. The Man, Lana del Rey, Tee Grizzley, some Eastern European music. And this entire week I am listening and singing along to Keane's Hopes and Fears - one of my 10 most favourite albums ever.

Robert-Anthony (82,837) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
When it comes to Roc Nation they strictly have the duties of management. As far as the record label Mariah is in a joint venture with Epic. She is still on the Epic page as well. So the new project will be brought to us by Epic/Butterfly MC records.
