Amazon CD pre-order (109,908)
by Max from Germany
| |
|
|
The days of bonus tracks are over. I mean, everything's digital these days anyway. What's the point? Most listeners don't have CD players anymore. If Amazon or JP have exclusive tracks on HFIA, then please use familiar material and not new songs. I also hope that we actually get 11 new tracks and that there isn't "Yes, and" or "Made for Me" on the album. I'm really happy that it's happening and wish MC all the best for the album. Sugar Sweet keeps getting stuck in my head and I'm also excited for the title track. There was The Voice again.

Cover art (109,907)

She probably wanted it to coincide with the black and white Daydream cover art. 30th anniversary this year by the way, which I assume she has unreleased trinkets already planned out to bless us with. Daydream is special because it's her most influential. I agree she could've slayed way harder and made it black and white no matter what. But maybe it's an "instant grit" cover art, just like how she had those teaser reel videos for Type: Dangerous. I'm pretty sure she'll change it to be honest. Mariah listens to fans. She changed the initial art work for TEOM when lambs brought up it looked like Beyoncé. Lol.

Ok don't hate me please, I don't want to be negative Nancy but I'm not a huge fan of the cover art. It doesn't scream I am coming for your wigs Beatles haha. It doesn't scream Billboard count your days bish. The cover art is very pretty but it's something more like for a greatest hits album or "the love songs" collection. It's not memorable like TEOM or even catchy like Caution. Also maybe like a beauty magazine cover shoot. The way they posed the era starting with she wants to get 2 more #1's the album cover doesn't match the vibe. I hope we get some alternate versions too with a more fierce look. Also someone said a few posts back she needs a new stylist. I agree. We also need her out of these huge diamond necklaces and diamond bracelet stacks, they are very early 2000s vibe and it ages her a bit which is crazy because she is at another beauty peak. If she wants to pull in the number she needs the streaming audience that is mostly younger.

Actually Daydream was released in the US on October 3rd, 1995. The 9/26 date was when it was released in Taiwan. The good old days when albums/singles were released on different dates in different regions.

I love the title. It speaks to her amazing career and all those events (good and bad) that have shaped who she is today. Did you guys know Here For It All has the same release date as Daydream? That can't be a coincidence, right? 9/26 is also my daughter's 17th birthday. So of course in her honor I'll be buying Mariah's new album, lol. Amazon has exclusive cover art releasing on July 23rd. As a Tommy era fan, I'm not stressing about anything. I always hope for the best.

Stacey I wouldn't call you a "Tommy Era only" fan. Key word being "only". You show love for her all the time and you never partake in any bashing. You're a wonderful person and wow you have a 17 year old. I too fell in love with her during the Tommy era and I will never deny those were her best years, but I still look forward to what she releases now. It is what it is. Here for it all. Pun intended.
I love the album title and the cover art, although it feels more like a photograph you'd generally find in the album liners than on the cover. It's very reminiscent of a magazine shoot she did a few years ago, I think for W.

I actually agree with this Mimi L. I kept thinking it was an old compilation album cover, like The Ballads or Playlist until I checked and was wrong lol. I just scrolled through IG and the user "itsallaboutMariahcarey" posted a few minutes ago and new album cover with the caption reading "Leaked". It was an all black backdrop and her sitting in an all black ensemble with straight long blond hair. Not sure if I like either cover tbh.

I saw the track credits of the album that is going around on X, and one of the songs was solely written by Paul McCartney and his wife. I'm guessing Mariah’s covering it. Which song do you think it is? Plus, The Clark Sisters are on a track. Duet maybe? I can’t wait.

I kept hearing about this supposed alternate cover but never found it. Thanks for giving the IG handle. It's very hazy so I can't really tell, but yes still looks like a regular photoshoot kinda cover. I was hoping for something fierce, even if not full body then atleast half. Mariah has been looking like her Einstein era I thought she would want to show it off and no one does a power stance like Mariah.

Looking forward to hearing what Shensea and Bryson Tiller bring to the album. I'm thinking she's remaking a Paul M. song as a thank you for not getting upset when she beats The Beatles' record lol it would be wild if she actually beat the record or even tie it with that song but I doubt that.

We have some dedicated Lambs on X doing all of the in depth research. I think the goal of HFIA was to collaborate with new songwriters and producers a genre blending album. Here is what I have found out on X:
1. New producers and songwriters - Roget Chahayed (Jack Harlow's First Class and Miguel's Skywalker), Bongo ByTheWay (Keyshia Cole's Vault and Jasmine Sullivan's Girl Like Me), Alissia Beneveriste (Mary J. Blige's Heart Without Heartbreak from her album Good Morning Gorgeous), Harv, Felisha Fury, Luke Milano, Kehlani, Mikkai Wesley Miller Rae Khalil, and Anderson .Paak.
2. Sugar Sweet ft. Kehlani and Shenseea - 3:42 song length - 07/25
3. The Stereotypes and Luke Milano have track 1. So you know it must be an uptempo banger.
4. The Clark Sisters collaboration is on track 10. I am disappointed that Twinkie Clark wasn't a part of the writing session. Hopefully, she is singing on the song. Mariah and Daniel Moore produced it.
5. There is a Paul and Linda McCartney cover. Maybe it's their song "Dear Boy".
6. There still may be track 12 on the U.S. CD and vinyl variants and track 13 on the Japanese edition.

So cute reading the responses of people online saying, "We're here for it." I'm definitely excited. I have high hopes for the album, with Anderson .Paak co-writing and producing and LA Reid executive producing and overseeing the process. I just wish her vocals are not going to be as overly-engineered as those in MIAMTEC. Even if she had to record one line at a time, and sleep with humidifiers all around her bed each night in between lines recorded, I'll take those than the tinny vocals we've had on that album. All that said: Type Dangerous is an odd choice for a lead single though. I mean, I want it to be cohesive, and I can't imagine how that song will fit in the entire album.

Great title. I too am concerned a bit about the date. The album was supposed to be a summery album so releasing it at the end of summer is interesting. It also has very few tracks like 11 if I'm not mistaken will they have to release more songs to tie up to the album release. I'm surprised it's not in August because that's perfect timing and doesn't she have some big shows lined up for August. Plus August wouldn't have too much competition. I'm sure they have a plan and I hope they stick to it and don't push it further that will kill momentum. I'm excited for Sugar Sweet next week and hope we have a solid music video and some fun remixes.

I like the title. Hopefully the 9/26 release date doesn't make the album conflict too much with whatever Mariah has planned for the holiday season. I remember "Caution" being released in mid-November 2018, which may have contributed a bit to its low performance. I like the album cover, the pose reminds me a bit of the "Glitter" album cover except with eyes open.

I believe that Mariah Carey needs a new wardrobe and a new hairstyle to usher in the new era to give her fans and the world something different. It will be a great way to help give her a hip new edge and grow interest in her career and music more and to have even more success with the album and singles.

Featuring the singles Type Dangerous, and Sugar Sweet, the album marks Mariah's first studio album in 7 years. The project is a rich, genre-blending body of work that pays tribute to every era of Mariah that fans know and love, while introducing new collaborators and modern influences that allow the music to seamlessly span generations." The cover is beautiful and simple, I can't wait to hear what she's been cooking up
