So far (83,138) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
So far for the new album M has worked with Poo Bear, he said that they have about (7-8) songs that have worked on together. JD and B.Cox, we know that they more one song that they have worked on together as we know their history. There is also Sam Romans, he is a producer/songwriter also signed to Roc Nation. He has also worked with MJB in the past on her London sessions LP. Last but not least she clocked some studio time in with DJ Mustard and TY dolla$.

Re: (83,135) (83,137) by Andrew from UK
I'd be confident on stage too if I were not actually singing anything remotely difficult, if I had prerecord doing it for me, if I could stand still for most of the show and walk off laughing at the muppets that paid for the privilege of watching me fart out the same old shit. This was special. Moving. Human. What Mariah is doing is a farce of epic proportions.

Mariah has a song called "Shut Up Andrew"? I hope it's the lead track for her new album.

Hey you all. It's been a long time since my last post. First off, I got tickets for Madrid's concert and I'm extremely excited since it's my first time attending one of her gigs. 16 years as a lamb and I cannot wait until showtime.
I have been watching videos from the new residency and I see her attitude on stage has changed a lot. She seems way more confident which may be due to her healthy physicial appearance but also because she got rid of toxic people. Stella had no experience at all as a manager and, worse, no manners. I still cannot believe such mediocre woman managed Mariah. But RocNation has bad reputation with some artists too (Rita Ora, Kylie, for instance); therefore, I wish she has found the ultimate management which can help her to reach again the mainstream success she deserves.
In regards to the upcoming album, I highly doubt it will be released this year. She has too many shows ahead and all of them unrelated to the new project. My guess is that we have to look forward to Spring 2019 which would be much better as she would need an A-list PR campaign.

Re: JD (83,133) (83,134) by Licia from USA
As a long time fan of her and JD working together I do have to agree on them not trying to make another WBT. (Although I do love DFAU. That's the best WBT rehash imo.) I am however always open to hearing what they come up with. Love him or hate him they work well together. He may not be Walter Alka Seltzer, but he's still good.

JD (83,133) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
For one millionth time JD is not the only producer she has clocked studio time with so relax, and if we are being honest YDKWTD was one of the standout songs from MIAM it just didn’t not get the proper treatment. If they can create a great mid tempo or a fire uptempo I would appreciate that. A ballad would be ok as long as they stay away from anything similar to WBT. I am sure that they have worked on more than one track let’s just wait to see the final results.

Re: Let's play a game (83,128) (83,132) by Bill from the UK
Actually Vision of Love had its key lowered way back in 1996 for the Daydream Tour and MSG special. She should sing it the "Unplugged" way, where it's stripped down to its skeleton and sung lightly and gently, with acoustic instrumentation, rather than trying to replicate the studio version which, as you rightly say, is three and a half minutes, five octaves, and a ten second note too much these days.

Re: Playback signals (83,116) (83,129) by Ronnie from California
Really? I never knew what to think about this topic. I don't see Mariah as the type that would have some sort of signal with a crew receiving the ok to play the track. I always saw Mariah as someone who would lip systematically. A signal just seems unreliable and messy. It could be that whenever she is about to lip something, she attempts to make it seem live by putting her finger in her ear, squinting, and partially covering her face. "Hey Alexa, play We_Belong_Together_Climax.mp3."

Re: Let's play a game (83,121) (83,128) by Randy from USA
Here's what I think: MC has singles in her catalogue that she could sing rather easily in a lower key because there are virtually no full voice ad libs: Love Takes Time, I Don't Wanna Cry, Hero, AIWFCIY, Underneath The Stars, Sweetheart (it's already low and raspy), Crybaby (it's already low and raspy) and then maybe add some of her easier album tracks like Music Box, Looking In, Close My Eyes, Petals, Rainbow Interlude, Sunflowers for Alfred Roy and Right To Dream (shut up Andrew). For the life of me, why she continues with one of the hardest songs ever recorded in the history of popular music, Vision of Love, is beyond me. No one expects Celine to belt out All By Myself In it's original key now or Whitney to have belted out IWALY in her final years. Why is MC hell bent on mutilating her first single?

Hope they don't write another WBT knockoff, lol.

Re: Let's play a game (83,121) (83,126) by Bill from the UK
Ha. I believe the only song that is 100% live these days is either Vision of Love (though I have my suspicions) or I'll Be There. She literally mimes everything else. Amazing how Trey's voice hasn't aged at all. Agreed about the ear piece being theatrics to mask the pre-record kicking in. The same with the tiresome "finger in the ear for pitching" stunt she pulls for every high note. Getting old. She never had to do that all the time back in the beginning (when, you know, it was live). If she did it was for a second to genuinely gauge the pitch and then she'd carry on the note. What's funny is every Tom, Dick and Harry on YouTube who reckons they can whistle (scream in tune, mostly) mimics the finger in the ear nonsense.

Probably doing some more pre-records for her upcoming shows rather than a new album lol.

JD (83,124) by B from USA
Mariah uploaded a photo of her and JD in the studio this morning. Hoping for the best. I really hope they write another WBT knockoff. Hopefully, she has other writers and producers lined up.

Re: Playback signals (83,116) (83,123) by Lee from UK
Yes to this. I have thought this for a number of years. Recently, it has become so obvious that I think she actually has a button on her ear monitor which kicks in the prerecorded vocals.

Article: Broadway loves Mariah Carey (83,122) by Musti from UK
I searched for this on YouTube and found the entire show. I'm really impressed with Love Takes Time and Vanishing. Vision of Love was great too. My All takes the cake though, she truly did it in her own way and so beautifully. They put on a nice show overall. Make sure to watch Someday too.

Let's play a game (83,121) by 90sMariah from SG
What particular song does Mariah sing that still makes you believe that her voice is redeemable and not at all lost? It has to be 100% live, effortless, powerful, no "Ey Ey" screams, no sharps, no flats, no ear fidgeting, no BS. Go.

No I've never seen this. I love it. I wasn't sure how MJB would sound singing Angel, but she did so good.

A few windows open still this year (83,118) by T from USA
She was in the studio during her little time off last night. Maybe this means she's really gearing up. It would be nice if everything is finished so that she could move ahead with a schedule like this:
July 20th: first single
August 31, September 1, 2, 5, 9, 10: Vegas
September 21st: iHeart performance
September 28th: album release
October 5th: second single
October 7th - November 9th: international tour
November 11th - 29th: album promo

Licia, have you seen this video of Anita and MJB? So good. I love how they just played with the song Angel and showed so much mutual respect.

Playback signals (83,116) by Andrew from UK
Further to my previous message, in this Mariah touches we earpiece unnecessarily and the prerecord kicks in. Suggest it's a prearranged signal. Also suggest that Mariah is physically incapable of singing a song. Take a moment to understand the gravitas of that. Physical. Incapable. Singing. Song.
