#17 (38,159) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom Congratulations to Mariah on reaching #17 on the Hot 100, that's a nice jump. The songs success continues to amaze me. Sales went up by 2% this week. That's pretty good going for Mariah. If that trend continues, it should be certified Gold next week. I really feel that if Mariah got out there and hit a few talk shows or something, she'd send the song to #1. It would be a great way to promote the album too. I must say though, she and her team are using twitter very well to promote her music. I get all my Mariah news and data off of twitter, as opposed to Mariah fan sites. It's just a lot quicker. I'm not throwing shade or anything, but I really do feel like MDJ has dropped the ball with Mariah recently. They don't seem to be on it as much as they used to be. Just an observation. New era, the race is on (38,158) by Carol from Spain Ok, so it's 2:20 am and i just got off work. Arrived home and logged on to the internet to check on the news and here it was, 7/23 the new era is coming. I must say I am absolutely freaking excited and counting the days already. This will be Mariah's first summer release since Music Box (or am I wrong?). I have high hopes for this album, not in terms of critical acceptance, but in quality. Hot 97 performance / outfit (38,151) by Joe from United Kingdom Overall I enjoyed this performance. It was shaky in small parts and Miguel doesn't sing in the origional key (I still like his voice) most of the time. I think a stripped down acoustic or acapella performance would do the song more justice on a live front. Now Mariah looked great to me, I've become used to these sort of outfits and she looks good. I don't see why the media makes a fuss. It's not like she's 54, wearing tight purple leotards and doing strange yoga moves on stage/videos. I thought people would be used to it by now. Ballads (38,148) by Randy from USA My favorite songs are Butterfly and My All. They are just lyrically and vocally amazing. I'm surprised no one mentioned Through The Rain. I loved that there is no background or vocal layering on that song. I was pissed that everytime she performed it live, there was a wall of background singers, since it wasn't like that on the record. Additional favorites are Never Forget You, Vanishing, Lead The Way, Outside, Close My Eyes, Petals, Right To Dream, Looking In. This could really go on and on for me lol. (Tuesday 4 June 2013; 8:15)

Some acoustic versions / #Beautiful remixes (38,147) by Edward from USA It would be mind blowing if Mariah released at least a few acoustic versions of some of the tracks from the new album. Leona Lewis did, but her album flopped due to moving the releasing date of Glassheart for a whole year, but Mariah so far has kept her word. By not giving a definite date for the album release, she technically is not pushing or delaying anything. As long as she gets it released within this year, it would be fine. I'm happy that she is promoting more, next would probably be the album name and soon after the remix for #Beautiful. I think they are managing her much more intelligently now. Every time releases a piece of information about this new era, #Beautiful spikes higher on iTunes. The video streaming on Vevo is increasing faster now. (Tuesday 4 June 2013; 3:08)

Unplugged 2013 (38,146) by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia I'm praying hard for another Mariah Unplugged 2013. It's been 21 years after Unplugged 1992. Just imagine how great it would be if Mariah perform songs on stage with dimmed lights and just her and another guy playing a guitar ala My All in SNL 1997. Ballads and live performance this weekend (38,145) by Blake from USA I forgot about "And you don't remember" and "Can't take that away". Amazing songs. This just proves its too hard to pick a favorite. I agree with Brandon; "The roof" and "Breakdown" are some of my personal favs. I don't think of them as ballads though. I didn't get Mariah's picks for her ballad release track listing. "How much" (with Usher) is not a ballad. Ballads were always referred to as slow, vocal driven tunes. I think this was the better performance this far but Mariah cracked a bit and Miguel's harmony signing does't work. He comes off weird on stage. I think he should stick to singing his part in the single version of that register. His falsetto is nice, but the harmony is weak in my opinion. Nothing would make me happier than seeing Mariah perform it solo. (Monday 3 June 2013; 18:35)

Mariah's style (38,142) by Lyric from USA The reactions to Mariah's latest twitter photo were ridiculous. People are dead set on criticizing Mariah's style when she has been dressing skimpy on and off since the late 90s. Fans and the general public should be used to it. She is a mother and a wife and I understand that people expect her to adapt to a classier style, but it's not gonna happen. Mariah believes that the only way to be sexy is to show skin, and so be it. She looks great regardless. But I think she could use some tips from Halle Berry, a woman who dresses her age and still maintains her sex appeal. It can be done. Mariah's style hasn't evolved too much, I kinda wish she was a fashion icon like other pop stars. (Monday 3 June 2013; 14:10)

Rashidi / album title (38,137) by Edward from USA Rashidi. Unicorn... really? I am the only one who can use unicorn sarcastically on this board. Unless you are being serious. Another one word album title would be good to me as long as she doesn't go over the rainbow. Memoirs was a good title too. As long as the music is good, the album title isn't that importan, like Alanis "Jagged Little Pill". I just hope the album title is also a song on the album. Lee/Mariah at Summer Jam (38,136) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom I agree. I have always loved it when Mariah had been interviewed by Rosie. I find that Rosie is down to earth, and not very Hollywood. She makes Mariah very comfortable, and they interview like friends, as opposed to a professional relationship. I just saw Mariah sing live with Miguel at Summer Jam. There were a few problems with the sound quality, but it was obvious Mariah was singing live. Those high notes at the end were the nuts. Favorite ballad (38,134) by Ray from Malaysia Like so many of you, it is almost impossible to list down just a few ballads when there are so many that I love, especially from her earlier catalog. But my all time favorite ballad that I would go back and listen to over and over again would be Love Takes Time. While Vision Of Love caught my attention, LTT sealed my fate as a fan.
