Article: Mariah Carey scores milestone 10th week at No. 1 (101,941)
by Terna from Nigeria

This is a big deal and we can already predict that over time this song is going to be the longest running Billboard Hot 100 #1 song of all time, a gift that will keep giving until the end of time, literally. Sorry Lil Nas X. Lol. How is this woman so blessed?

Congratulations to the most successful female singer songwriter producer of all time. And to her amazing crew that put on a fabulous show. Jospeh Khan "the #1 primetime show last night with a strong retention rate, meaning you watched the whole thing". And in regards to her criminally underrated producer skills he said "Yes. Mariah personally stayed up three days straight to supervise the mix - something that normally takes weeks. And she did an incredible job." Unfortunately she won't get the recognition she deserves until she leaves this earth. Her resume and her legendary stats will speak for itself when all of us are gone. Merry Christmas to the queen Of music.

The Star live (101,936)
by enwar00 from usa

So my dahling friend and fellow lamb Chris sent me this beautiful live performance of The Star from 2018. She sounds amazing to me, almost unbelievable how different she sounded just 4 years ago. Although that makes me think of some recent messages on here that stated never count her out, her voice can always come back. Also very touching and sweet interaction between her and Monroe.

Yes. I love how you ended that post with "Queen Of Music". I went to the show on the 16Th and boy did she come to prove to the "talkers" that she still has it. She sounded amazing. We were in the 5th row and it was like you could almost hear her sing loud over the audience into the mic. She really shined on Hero that night. Her into was to all who have supported her, stuck up for her, was there for her, a fan and what she likes to call fam and it was just beautiful. I sat next to a fan who flew in from Boston but originally from Brazil and he told me how she saved his life with Can't Take That Away. Next to him was a dad who was there with his young daughter wearing a sweat jacket covered in shiny butterflies. This dad was there because his young maybe 7 year old daughter was the fan. Amazing. She continues to transcend. She is something special and we do indeed as her fans, need to be very grateful with all that has happened to so many of the greats, be grateful she is up there and still going strong, and looking good while doing it. What a season it has been. Merry Christmas Mariah, Roc, Roe and Bryan. Hope you are enjoying Aspen. Shawn was there with his family too a few rows back. It was a beautiful moment and anyone who was fortunate enough to have gone, to have that memory of being a part of this special regardless of what show you attended. It's still a "moment". Merry Christmas To All and very happy to hear it was the highest rated program on tv that night.

AIWFCIY dethroning OTR (101,931)
by "MariahHater" from Hell
| |
|
|
Likewise. I haven't heard the whole song as I continue to despise it to this day of breaking the OSD record. I remember I was in jitters at 2am waiting for Taylor Swift to be Number 1 to save OSD but yeah it happened. It was a sad day for lambs. The only thing that makes me grounded is the fact that Mariah's record may be broken that year but, her legacy continued to be strengthened as AIWFCIY jingles its way to Number 1 for 4 years and counting (insert cool with shades emoji).
As with the Billboard rules, I hope they really don't change their treatment with the Holiday songs. Why? Not everybody has a occasion staple song and less than 20 holiday songs ever did that in the entire world.
A lot of artists releases holiday songs which aims to be a classic but come on, nobody ever did create a bigger Christmas song than Mariah. Ever. So if ever there is a Billboard connoisseur here, please fight for the chart rules, not for Mariah but those artists whose legacies will live on even if we perish from the land.

MC To All (101,930)

CBS, Joseph Kahn, Charlene Manca, and Nicola Doring worked their magic with the production of the shows. I am really pleased how her vocals turned out. Lots of editing for the CBS special, but it is okay. MC might be nominated for a primetime Emmy next year.

I need to get a life. I don't know why I've been posting so much this year, probably because I've been very emotional. Imagine that, a MC fan being emotional? Speaking of which, jaker20 that was a beautiful message. Many have said it here before, we are a dysfunctional family. Can someone please help explain LadBaby to me? I'm a citizen of the U.S., I get that there is a cultural difference to the UK. Even so, we have our novelty acts. We have our nerdy white boys who somehow have a huge hit or two. Vanilla Ice, Marky Marky and the Funk Bunch. However, our nerdy white boy novelty acts last for one or two songs, one or two albums, one or two years. Not, five years? How is LadBaby about to have the coveted Christmas #1 for a fifth year in a row? I've watched a few videos. What am I missing? I don't find them to be particularly funny, particularly good looking, nor particularly talented. Sausage rolls? Please, what am I missing? Educate me.

What a feast. If AIWFCIY keeps topping the charts for at least 3 weeks for the next 3 years, she'll by herself this time would reclaim the title as "The Artist with the Longest #1 Song" on "Billboard Hot 100" by 2025 with 20 weeks at the top. The OSD record kind of hurt when it was broken.

Is your main objection to this person that they are white or simply that they are not talented? There are plenty of successful acts from all different backgrounds who are lacking in the talent department and plenty from all different backgrounds who are overlooked despite being talented.
I find Lil' Nas X to be pretty mediocre, but he continues to score hit singles and albums. On the flip side, I could never understand why Nona Hendryx never got more attention. She wrote many of the songs for Labelle, but her solo albums never sold well despite showcasing a really unique talent.
It's all very subjective.
