Love Story video (96,640) by Jamie from UK
Just had [YouTube] on shuffle and Love Story video came on, I forgot how happy she looks in this video.

Still can't get over Loverboy (Firecracker) (96,639) by John from USA
I have been listening to this song (along with "Here We Go Around Again" and "All I Live For") nonstop since The Rarities came out. There is zero doubt in my mind that this is the true version of Loverboy we were meant to get and would have gone straight to #1. It is truly in the league of her incredible 90s lead singles that we were used to at the time. I still love the Candy version, but the Firecracker version goes so much harder, and that chorus though? The chorus pops so much more on this version, and I love the "hey loverboy" that she says in the background throughout the song. And I also love that the song features no one and is just her. Pure pop perfection, and one of her best uptempo songs ever.

Thank you. We are doing ok. Covid is legit, folks.

Haha you're probably right about Andrew referencing you. Whoops. Now about Daydream, excuse me while I sit on my throne, lol. Me and Daydream go back like babies and pacifiers.

Stacey (96,635) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Stacey, I am incredibly sad to read of your husband having the Rona.

You have indeed been here a long time. I think you were once bezzies with the infamous Stephen. Your forthrightness is always appreciated.

Your family will emerge stronger. Keep with updates. I wish you all well. As I do everyone. And I mean everyone.

Re: Exact lyrics (96,624) (96,634) by Xavier mariohmix from Spain
I'm not sure that's the phrase. Go and listen. Lol. On the other hand, I love The Rarities. It has so many gems. One Night is superb. That's why I'm trying to learn all the lyrics by heart and sing it endlessly.

Apple Music excitement (96,633) by Lady B from USA
I am really excited for the special. Queen of Christmas + Apple = fire. I know folks have theories on who is gonna be a part of it but I think we're in for some surprises. I wonder when it's gonna be released.

Re: Underneath the Stars video (96,627) (96,632) by Will from Australia
Ha I think Andrew was suggesting I'm the new William Stacey although I have been on this board since about 20 years now and I do have a solid claim to being the resident Daydream fanatic although I didn't see that tour, I wonder if anyone on here did.

Re: Cory Rooney (96,573) (96,631) by Susana from USA
Will, I agree. I would totally want to know what happened at least to their working relationship. I'm going to guess he took Tommy's side at that dinner, and like Walter, that was it. For the simple reason of royalties, I would much rather work with MC than IDKH so that his grandchildren one day are still getting paid.

I wasn't expecting anything. When stuff doesn't get released, there's usually a reason for that. I love the song, so it was nice to have some additional promo from the Daydream tour and era. I loved when she used to keep her hair curly and braid it too. Lol.

Thank you for your kind sentiments. He is doing well. Extremely weak but ok. [...] Thank you again. Life is short. Make each day count.

Re: Underneath the Stars video (96,622) (96,627) by Stacey from USA
You're too kind, but there's only one William. I can't take his place. I do try with my love for Daydream, but still fall way way short. Agree though with your assessment on the video. I was hoping for something more. But it is what it is. Carey on.

Re: Underneath The Stars video (96,619) (96,626) by MusicfanJ from Germany
The song and the video makes me very nostalgic too. Daydream made me a fan so I can just love the video. I like the innocent princess vibe and the backstage scenes. The casual base cap is very sweet on her too. She was so young then, looks like baby MC. Haha. I had to laugh a little about the sign in the concert hall: David Bowie, Neil Young and Celine Dion.

Stacey (96,625) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Stacey I'm sorry to hear that with your husband. I hope he gets well soon. I don't have anxiety but I'm afraid of the pandemic since February. I also wish the Americans good luck with the new president. As an European I will just say I like how Mr. Biden talks and most of us here in Germany are happy with the vote. I used to be in an German-American friendship Club so I know how divided the opinions can be. I guess it's the same in almost every other country with the politics. I enjoy your posts like most of the messages here. But the behavior from some posters reminds me of kindergarten.

Re: Exact lyrics (96,591) (96,624) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
XavMan, I apologise. I was busy swatting flies.

"One Night: What is the recurring phrase the background sings all the way"

It's "Oh baby baby... don't".

I can tell you that without even playing it. I have listened to this song endlessly. I am gobsmacked it did not make Daydream. Was it too fun? It's like the response to Fantasy. It is genius.

As is Here We Go Round Again (I don't like the debut album much but this song is unbelievably good).

As is All I Live For. (Come on, this is infectious. How did this make the cut?)

As is Firecracker Loverboy. (This would have gone global No1. Who cares that woman used the sample?)

As is Out Here On My Own. (It is as much a Mariah Carey ballad now as is My All, but better because we are all feeling this one collectively.)

The Rarities is special. It has a unique place in my heart.

Re: Trump (96,612) (96,623) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
"Whatever, just shut up already."

I think you meant to reply to me. And, well, no.

"I don't come to a Mariah Carey blog to argue and pick fights with other people that I don't even know, unlike you, I do have better things to spend my time on."

Well, you kinda did.

"I am just saying what many people are thinking."

Many people think that the Earth is flat or that they are guided by spirit animals or that it's okay to put the milk in before the tea bag. Verstehen Sie? (You do speak German in the National Socialist North America, surely? Lol)

"You keep doing you over there and I'll do the same here. I bet if you weren't hiding behind your little keyboard and monitor you wouldn't say that crap in person because you know in the real world you get your ass kicked for that behavior."

Of what behaviour do you speak? Disagreeing with you? Objecting to arguments that are objectively ridiculous, irrational, unfounded and insulting to millions of our grandparents and great grandparents?

The threat of violence isn't impressive and I assure you I would not change, and have never changed, my opinion in the face of it. Much like our grandparents and great grandparents did not.

"Find a doctor already, mental health and anger issues are to be taken seriously."

Were I to try, I certainly would avoid yours for it is clearly not working.

"I'm not going to debate anything with you and indulge you, it's useless and a waste of time"

You would be wise not to debate me.

"[P]lease just get lost."

You're about seven messages in and look what you have shown yourself to be. So. Er. Nope.

I think that was civil enough in the face of incivility. Seriously, you people are frightening.

Re: Underneath the Stars video (96,618) (96,622) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Yes, New William, yes. The ABMB should always have been the Underneath The Stars video.

This isn’t a music video. This is Mariah doing ten minutes vanity interspersed with really bad tour footage that does not remotely suit the song. I feel like this video was pieced together recently for the sake of completing something.

Underneath the Stars (96,621) by Stacey from USA
As the resident Daydream fanatic here, I thought the video was ok. Quite honestly I found myself focusing more on singing along to the music than watching the video. Such an amazing melody you almost don't care about the video anymore.

Re: Trump (96,612) (96,620) by Stacey from USA
Oh wow someone tells me to shut up. I'm shivering. I don't recall addressing you in anyway. Nothing was directed toward you in any way. I agreed with what Andrew said, as is my right. If you have a problem with that, it is you who needs to "get lost". The funny thing is I was here before you and I'll still be here after you are long gone. Cheers.

I'm 43 years old. Been posting on this site for over a decade. I don't let the little things bother me. I do suffer from anxiety. If someone tries to put me down using that, it says more about their character than mine. The irony is today my hubby is home from the hospital suffering from Covid-19. Some two letter named faceless, nameless person telling me to shut up is laughable at this point. Carey on everyone. Life is too short to worry about the insignificant stuff.

Underneath The Stars video (96,619) by Terna from Nigeria
I couldn't help but feel nostalgic as this song makes me feel, and watching the video for the very first time it dawned on me that this was the very first song I ever heard from the "Daydream" LP, and boy have we come a long way since then. It's always going to have a special place in my heart. So sublime. Thanks Mariah for this rare gem. Lots of love as always.

Re: Underneath the Stars video (96,616) (96,618) by Will from Australia
Probably one of her more natural looking vanity videos but a massive meh. Was hoping for a storyline or something cute similar to the Always Be My Baby video, that's how I always envisioned this video would be like. Feels like someone found the clips of Mariah and just edited it out with old footage of the tour.

Underneath The Stars Video (96,617) by cBerr from Canada
Overall reaction: meh.

Sidenote: I'm a little more upset now about the choice to release the Tokyo Dome concert video as it would appear that they had HD cameras filming at least one of the European dates. SMH.

True, very Mariah formulaic. She did look pretty and fresh throughout the video though.
