Re: Where I Belong, it's a hit (96,490) (96,522) by B from USA
I could see it becoming an R&B hit and crossing over to the pop charts (Hot 100/70s/80s). It's catchy and nostalgic and classic yet modern.

I apologize Andrew. I did go back and re-read your post. Can you forgive me? I want to be back on your Christmas list.

Re: All I want (96,504) (96,520) by B from USA
He's mad that she won't let anyone and everyone who wants to license AIWFCIY to use in adverts to do it. By not permitting it to be used by everyone who has asked and continues to ask, she's kept the song from becoming oversaturated. Mariah's been selective and smart when it comes to licensing her music. The GAP, Hallmark Countdown to Christmas, and Ryan Reynolds' Free Guy adverts are amazing.

Walter Afansieff (96,519) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
On the balance of probabilities, I think it more than less likely Walter, during the process, altered and pieced together different melodies Mariah came up with. He also created all of the instrumentation which is integral to the success of the song. You only have to listen to the So So Def version of AIWFCIY to see what a horror show it could have been production-wise. Credit where credit is due. You can't deny someone their rights to IP just because you don't like them.

Interesting point I just found out: his real - or original - name is Vladimir.

Re: The mother (96,500) (96,518) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Let's see if Bobby A actually re-reads the message and apologises. I doubt it. For what it is worth there are many many many people on here whose messages I enjoy. Mostly it is the people with a sense of humour and brain. I was even starting to take to him. Sigh.

Anyway, I have decided Mariah should defo be releasing a Christmas song with Ariana Grindr and JHud. Perhaps it could be called "Snowflakes" and dedicated to O Canada and all her thumbs-up friends.

Re: All I want (96,511) (96,515) by B from USA
It's still on YouTube, and there are other videos of him discussing their collaborative process and tons of print interviews. She would sing a melody to him and use him as a vessel to work through. He wasn't solo responsible for writing the music and producing their songs. It was out of order. When Walter claims she makes up words, he does it to diminish her credibility.

We Are Lambily clip (96,514) by enwar00 from usa
Has anyone seen this compilation spoof clip of Mariah singing We Are Lambily? It actually made me laughed out loud.

Re: Through The Christmas Rain (96,509) (96,512) by enwar00 from usa
And then play Music Box the song right after those two. The O.G. of the twinkly intros. Ugh that sound is so underrated I must listen now.

All I want (96,511) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
As far as Walter is concerned he has made it very clear that he and Mariah would work on the production process together when they used to work together, but she would work on the lyrics solo. Unless it has been removed there is a video on YouTube from the Music Box era where this was explained in detail.

Re: All I want (96,507) (96,510) by RibbonB from USA
That doesn't sound diminishing really, but then I didn't read his words. She created the melody and wrote all the lyrics. Seems like she did the main work. Sounds like he just translated it to music with his ability to play. Hopefully he just stops whining.

Through The Christmas Rain (96,509) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Okay, you guys, this is freaky. You will not believe you have never noticed this. Apologies if you have.

I was listening to All I Want For Christmas Is You (Tokyo Dome) and the next random song that came on was Through The Rain. Play those songs in that order. And about seven seconds into Through The Rain you should be freaking out.

How did I not notice this before?

Re: All I want (96,504) (96,507) by B from USA
I stumbled upon Walter's Instagram account the other day. He wants to diminish Mariah's contribution to the writing and producing of AIWFCIY, which is the same thing he's always accusing her of. During their time working together, he stated she would come up with a melody and sing notes to him and lead him musically (melodically) and that she would write the lyrics by herself. After he claimed she made up words in an interview and used emblazoned as an example, he lost what little credibility he had left, in my opinion.

All I want (96,504) by We are lambily from USA
Once again Walter proved how much I truly hate him, he sold his stake to All I Want for Christmas is You.

Why couldn't he sell it to Mariah? This was honestly one of the worst moves a songwriter has ever done. I don't wanna see him mentioning this song ever again. He basically spat on Mariah's face "once again".

Re: Mariah Carey season (96,499) (96,503) by Stacey from USA
I hear you. Things are definitely different this year. But we all need to do what makes us happy and still be safe. My husband is diabetic so I need to be careful, but not hysterical. I took my kids trick or treating, and while my neighborhood felt different, for a moment life felt normal watcing my kids run from house to house. Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays everyone. Be safe and smile.

The Oddities (96,502) by RibbonB from USA
In connection with Halloween and the recent release of The Rarities, I've thought of a few oddities, it more like obsessions that Mimi seems to have. The obvious is the posing and the left side of the face thing. Others include:
1. Marilyn Monroe. I get buying the piano, but naming your baby after her might be much, although I love the name.
2. Tupac. She loves to tell that dry story about their eyes meeting as he's driving away. He already dated Madge and was just toying with Mimi, lol. I guess I get why she bought the photo of him naked in the bath.
3. Her dad's car. Cute vintage auto, but strange to use it in that terrible Beautiful video with midget Miguel propped up in it. It's nice that she has it for a prop for Rocky to play in, I suppose.
4. Relating your so called "soul mate" to your mother, who you now reveal you have deep issue with. She clearly said she knew Nick was her soul mate because he made her feel safe and always festive, cheering up the bleak moments. This from interviews in 2008. Maybe some delayed memories.
5. Last but not least, why did she mention industry illuminati on page 157? Lol for the conspiracy nerd in me.

Not that Andrew needs any defense, but Robert this time he was defending Mariah against a hater and not being cruel. At least that's what I got.

Happy Mariah Season everybody. Hope we have some joy to close out this crazy year. Can't wait for Mariah's festive plans' announcements.

That's cool. Enjoy the turkey and the tree. I'm a little sad because the Christmas time can't be celebrated like last year, with meeting friends because of the pandemic, but I'll do the best to have it festive. Decoration everywhere, MC's music everywhere, many cookies and a lot of hot glühwein (mulled wine).

Re: Mariah Carey season (96,492) (96,498) by We are lambily from USA
I'm so excited, Mariah went viral all over the internet yesterday with her video. People don't even call it Christmas anymore lol, it's officially Mariah's season. I can't believe Mariah is guaranteed a #1 hit for many years to come and at least a top 10 hit every year in my lifetime and probably until the end of time. She really did create something special.

In case Mariah wants to do a entirely new cover for her special, I hope performs "Mary did you know" or at least one day. Besides Mariah's classics and songs she covered it's my absolute favourite next to Last Christmas.
