Re: Billboard 200 album chart (86,977) (86,983) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Musician, my mom just bought me a copy of the All I Want For Christmas Is You animated movie as she knows I love Mariah. She did a really good job on the project. It's a sweet movie for Christmas time. Enjoyable for all not just kids.

Re: Caution album (86,974) (86,982) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I read somewhere that the label has put the promotion of "Caution" on a hiatus until January, since people are so focused on her Christmas material now. They will continue promoting the album after New Year.

AIWFCIY at no. 7 (86,981) by darrian liu from taiwan
Y'all this could actually reach no. 1 this year. It debuted in November. November (all caps). Then it went on to reach the top 10, at its highest peak thus far, and we're barely even have 2 weeks in December. Ari's Thank U, Next is definitely a pretty strong no. 1 (congrats to her, a no. 1 is difficult to get, not everybody has that) with the video being a massive hit, but with AIWFCIY continuing to gain in all metrics, plus the massive streaming numbers it will get in the days approaching Christmas and Christmas itself, it truly does have a chance. Y'all in the US, please stream, stream, stream. Don't forget that paid streams are weighted more than free streams. But at this rate, a top 5 placement is definitely guaranteed. I would even say that a top 3 is a guarantee, especially with the rest of the top 10 being quite weak. Let's go lambs.

Re: Caution album (86,974) (86,980) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
In today's music scene, I don't believe the strike-while-the-iron-is-hot mentality works that well anymore for this generation's most popular mainstream artists, let alone legends like Mariah. I think they should let AIWFCIY have its moment to shine first, especially now that it has just reached a new peak and we have at least two tracking weeks more before it falls out once again. Hopefully she hits the top 5 by then, and the press it would receive would be a great bed of positivity to release. Right after that, riding on that high, then they drop the A No No remix. It may not buoy the album back up, but at least it could be a hit thanks to Cardi's huge streaming pull.

Caution's commercial performance (86,979) by darrian liu from taiwan
On one side I'm bummed that the public didn't embrace the album as much as I wanted to, but on the other, I'm just happy Mariah released an inspired, cohesive body of work. Caution is already in my list of favorite albums, and I'm glad that even though she didn't achieve commercial success with this one, she got the critical acclaim that she gets way too little in her career. I'd rather have her release 3 flop albums that are critical successes than 3 huge albums with dud songs.

One Child live was perfect (86,978) by Sheila from United States
Just when you think it's all smoke and mirrors, she does an acoustic One Child snippet and sounds perfect. I love her snippets.

Re: Billboard 200 album chart (86,976) (86,977) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I think it's not a surprise. I'm pretty sure her Christmas album will get even higher next week. Everywhere I go, I hear "AIWFCIY". With the strong streaming of it and downloads Mariah could get another present before Christmas night. This song is truly an everlasting gem. That a 24-year old Mariah wrote it makes it even more special. I even watched the animated kids movie yesterday. It was fun watching it. Little animated MC and Jack, too cute.

Billboard 200 album chart (86,976) by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
Finally Billboard published the album chart for the week of 8 December. There is good news and bad news. The good news is that Merry Christmas is at No 19 (up 31). The bad news is that Caution is at No 55 (down 50!) in its second week.

Re: 8th Grade (86,971) (86,975) by Robert-Anthony from United States
This jam should have been the official first single instead of With You. What was her team thinking? Has anybody heard the song on vinyl yet? You can really hear MC's pretty alto soprano tone very clearly like you were in the studio with her. Listening closely for the stacking of her vocals and ad libs.

Caution album (86,974) by Robert-Anthony from United States
MC just dropped one of the best albums of her career and I feel the whole album is about to fade into oblivion. Am I the only one feeling this way? Where is the A No No remix? I hope that I am worrying for nothing.

Re: Nottingham concert (86,972) (86,973) by Bill from the UK
Thanks for the review. Unfortunately I couldn't afford tickets so really keen to hear what the UK lambs thought of the concert. Sounds like you had a great night.

Nottingham concert (86,972) by RhondaC from UK
I went to concert last night in Nottingham - it's my first time at the Christmas show (couldn't afford it last year.) and I absolutely loved it. I would say about 90% of it was live, I think to the lambs it was obvious where she lipped - there was a subtle change in the "live sound" for example during the finale of O Holy Night, basically whenever it was a really challenging vocal section. I noticed on a few she lowered the key which worked well, though the first chorus of When Christmas Comes sounded a bit odd as she tried to do it in the airy whisper style we hear on Caution and it didn't fit with how the verse was sung.

Regardless of this, there is a reason I still absolutely adore Mariah after 28 years - she is a professional. I thought the show oozed class and quality, everyone was on top of their game and it ran seamlessly. The arena was pretty full, I was in the floor section and turned during Hero to see a sea of lights being waved behind me which was wonderful. The crowd probably got into Hero, WBT and AIWFC the most, not all seemed to know the stuff from MCII which is a shame as personally I think WCC and Christmas Time are classics. I won't get into the debate on Roc & Roe being up so late, but they genuinely seemed to enjoy being on stage, especially Roe who kept flossing and was mimicking mum again during The Star.

I would definitely go again. Though I would really like for Mariah to do a show we don't expect, a bit like George Michael's Symphonica, with a live band and new arrangements of her classics. Or something like George's MTV Unplugged, just on a stool singing. I hope we haven't passed the stage where that could still happen, I hope the glitz and glam is for the festivity and not to cover up flaws. To me, she's still the best.

8th Grade (86,971) by Billy from Greece
So in love with this song. "I'm not your world, I'm not your life." The chorus is stuck in my head. So melancholic.

AIWFCIY #7 (86,970) by Jono from USA
The song has officially reached a new peak on the Hot 100, and we still have two weeks (and a little under three tracking weeks) until Christmas. Anything after this is a bonus. Truly incredible, congrats MC on this everlasting gem.

Andrew (86,969) by Mara from United States
Andrew, I was very curious despite the fact that the Christmas show was somewhat the same, to hear your review if you still intended to attend the show you had tickets for. Please consider the review.

The New Yorker covering us lambs (86,966) by Brad from USA
I hope everyone is being good to one another and themselves. This article is neat to see, us lambs being discussed in a legendary publication like The New Yorker. Pretty cool, IMO. Anyhow, continue to be obsessed with Caution. Favs are definitely 8th Grade, The Distance, Caution, With You, A No No, and Portrait. Still that hopeful child that one of these gems can catch fire on the radio and enable millions more people to embrace and marvel at this album that's giving me life. Best holiday season wishes to all, may God bless and be well.

#2 in Norway (86,965) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
AIWFCIY is curently #2 on the national chart "VG-lista topp 20" here in Norway. Last year it went to #1 becoming her first ever #1 in Norway. I doubt it will get to #1 this year, since this recently released hidious Christmas song by Norwegian celebrities rules the chart.

Re: Re: Last Kiss (86,956) (86,960) (86,964) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Exactly. I understand producers wanting to leave their stamp on their projects - it's their signature, that's fine. Some of JDs mutterings don't make sense to be on their respective songs at all, but as long as his input is nowhere near DJ Khaled's obnoxiousness, we'll be fine. I gotta admit, though, that with E=MC2, the only other thing I don't like about that album (aside from the fact that the ballads are obviously poor rehashes of WBT that blend into each other) is that JD has peppered a lot of the songs with his jibberish. Thankfully his next works with Mariah weren't like that.

Don't know what to play (86,961) by Gilles from Malta
I know it is Christmas season but I am cooking for some friends tonight and I am listening Caution album non stop. This album is so good, the flow just takes you in a good space with the help of a good beat. What it is very nice, it is current without being too much. We have a bit of everything without being too dark I would say more realistic. I love this album. I had to say it again on this board to tell how happy I am with this album. Ok next week it will be time to cook Christmas cookies so I will switch to Christmas carols even I have already done it a bit. Have a nice time with those amazing albums from Mariah's repertoire. Kiss and hugs to everyone.

Re: Last Kiss (86,956) (86,960) by Licia from USA
Lol. For me it depends on the song. With Last Kiss and Thanx For Nothin the JD ad libs fit right in, but for Love Story I didn't need to hear all that. You all know I love JD, but I can definitely understand people not always liking to hear him all through songs.

You have a very subtle way to imply that some people here are almost too gay to function. I'm not reading your posts anymore, until the next one of course.
