Re: Mariah and JD (82,770) (82,773)

But here's my issue with ya'll saying the manic is gone. Always Be My Baby was wonderful for her career. ILT and WBT was wonderful for her career. He was largely missing from MOIA. And YDKWTD was probably the best single choice on MIAMTEC. They may cook up something fresh. Their pairing is legendary. And MC is practically 50. Why should she work with young fresh hot producers and rappers? Cardi B is literally half her age. I'm not putting her out to pasture but when is she going to ride off into the legendary sunset like Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin and Barbra Streisand did when she came out in 1990? I don't remember them collaborating with rappers. They were still making albums but no one was expecting them to have number ones in an era of Mariah, Whitney, Janet, Celine and Madonna. So we're expecting MC to have number ones in an era of Beyonce, Rihanna, Adele? Come on now.

I love this making of WBT article from 2015. Mariah and team were a tight knit team with a goal in mind. I don't know if they could ever re recreate that vibe. They were deliberate in trying to revisit Always Be My Baby. The true irony is in making the video Mimi wanted to burn the Motolla wedding dress, but Brett shot that idea down. But one year later or so she had her chance to burn a wedding dress, listening to Stella and Binaka with I Don't. now with Weinstein indicted, I wonder what will happen to Reid and Ratner, Mimi 's industry husband and brother respectively.

Thanks for sharing Billy that was a great rendition. Did Mariah ever sing live the long closing note where she sort of crescendos down (if that's a term lol) through the note before the "come on babe" ending ahead of the acapella close out. I've hunted high and low but she always dodged it, even in these prime years.

MIAM was 2014, so for all we know MC has been writing and recording material since then. The album could be in the can for all we know. I wouldn't read too much into it. If it is pushed back like MIAM was I wouldn't mind, as it will be better in the long run.

I totally agree with you. She needs a current popular artist to get played on radio. She needs a Cardi B or Bruno Mars or even a Post Malone collaboration to make radio play her again. I would love to see a sexy ballad from Liam Payne or Zayn. I wish she would step out of her box and take creative chances with other artists. Remember how Migrate was huge with TPain. Without a huge - no, she didn't - collaboration, radio will pass on her singles again.

I think I'm going to go back on my phantom album post a couple of weeks back. In that post I said everyone was crazy to think an album was coming. For her to say she's in the studio working on verses on Jimmy Kimmel means that she's seriously working on something. Maybe she'll release a very short album with 7-10 tracks which a lot of artists are doing these days. We know MC can record an album in three months as evidenced by Rainbow. Maybe she's gonna sell the album at her shows in a way to garner sales. I don't know when she would have time to perform and promote a single. Maybe she's going to make this one over the course of some time and then release everything next year. So there will be an album, but we will have to wait for it is my final verdict.

The Butterfly Returns (82,765)

Mariah Is about to start the Vegas shows. And she is still recording the new album. She doesn't have much time left between the start of the Butterfly Returns shows until the Asia tour begins. So I wrote down all of dates and came up with June 6th [through] July 3rd and July 16th [through] August 20th as the time she has to finish working her magic in the studio. I haven't even mention that she has to rehearse for Vegas shows and Asia tour during this time too. How is she going to do all of this? It seems impossible but I am sure she is going to make it happen before September 21st (iHeart Radio) and October 7th (beginning of the Asia shows). Hopefully we will get the first single and album announcement by the end of the summer.

So apparently this is really happening. Mariah's last good collaboration was with Miguel. Our girl really seems to be either too picky/proud/self-conscious to collaborate with other artists that aren't rappers. She's brilliant and creative on her own, but a little more open-mindedness and exploring can keep her from doing the same old things. Go with someone younger who's hot right now - SZA, Charlie Puth, Bruno Mars, Ariana (it would break the internet but unfortunately Mariah doesn't seem to know her) and maybe even Cardi B (she's the golden girl who can do no wrong these days, just look at what she did for Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars' singles) - just about anyone but the usual suspects.

When I first saw Here Is Mariah Carey at Proctor's Theatre, other than being completely mesmerised that she could seemingly hit any note at any time, I did think that she seemed to struggle singing Dreamlover - or perhaps just did not like singing it. I thought the same during the Madison Square Garden concert a couple of years later. It is a shame because it is one of her best up tempo numbers. The "it was all a dream" variation that she has done live in recent years takes away the momentum and feel of the track which is perfect just the way it is.

Dear Andrew, you wrote Islamist at first and that is different from islamism, also if you bother to read about Islam instead of defining them by the actions of terrorists, you would know that according to Quran, taking a innocent live is equal to you killing the entire human race. These people are monsters and not apart of Islam. Tijl, I have lived almost half of my life in Europe. "Benefit of having your parents divorced", I know the issues, the thing is blaming a religion of more than a billion people "all the major groups in Islam have condemn these actions by using their own religion" ain't very smart. Things will never get better since you guys can't even point out the real enemies. My friend even told me something very interesting and Hufflepost wrote a article about it. "Please read it guys." Prophet Muhammad warned us about them. Those ain't even Muslims let alone human beings. Also white people carry out the most terror attacks well according to FBI and every other intelligence agency in the world. If Islam is a problem so is our religion that gave us KKK and priests that sexually abuse children. Anyways don't bother to respond since I won't either after this, let's stick to our girl Mariah.

Terrorism talk and generalisation (82,756)
by Anonymous from UK
| |

I can't believe what I'm reading on here. "Some areas are no go" - let me tell you first hand that growing up as a person of colour, there were places that were a no go in Munich, Graz, Berlin, even parts of London. "A major flood of issues on a daily basis because Islamic immigrants." Please google image Aleppo. We helped create and are perpetuating those problems. That and many similar are why they're here. Our problems are nothing to theirs. "You never hear something of Buddhists, Hindu or any other culture/religion." So the Rohyingya crisis doesn't exist? The Bodu Bala Sena? Saffron terror? Northern Ireland? The up to 20 million (recorded) people killed in the name of Christianity? Over 100 million recorded have been killed in the name of Atheism. Fundamentalists are fundamentalists, irrespective of denomination. These things happen everywhere, by all religions and often on a worse scale and consequence than in the bubble of Europe. The average Muslim is the same as the average anything else, wherever you are. "They don't integrate": The Europeans don't even integrate with each other, let alone respect the rest of the world. Further, the America's and Oceania aren't indigenous caucasian, fyi. Yet the indigenous across all are denied the land that is legally, rightfully theirs. As for Africa, apartheid is in my own (and many on here's) conscious memory. What's happened in all terror attacks is awful and should be remembered, but it's also good to remember where this wealth of our nations has come from and how, what our taxes go towards, what else is happening in our name and the names of various faiths/beliefs. To generalise says nothing about them and a lot of prejudice.

Dear Snowflake, perhaps look up the meaning of the word "Islamism" before you start spouting your unintelligent freedom fighting, social justice, offended-on-behalf-of-others, bothersome nonsense. "Islamism" is the doctrine that all societies should be guided by Islamic principles, culture and way of life. Islamic terrorism is the attempted enforcement of this hideous doctrine and rather Western-incompatible religion through fear, violence and oppression. Sit down before somebody with a triple digit IQ puts you down, sweetheart.

No one really knows?? Lol. It's been public for months that Camila Sodi is Issabela Camil. This is from April 18 where Issabella talks about it and acknowledges everything. You can also find articles and videos from the producer where she says that this first season is just the 80s.

I have some "anti-Mariah" friends but when it comes to the best love songs out there, we come to one agreement - We Belong Together is up there. Oh yes, my lecturer once played My All and he thought it was Toni Braxton. He still loves My All after I corrected him. The power of MC.
