Re: What if MC said my last album and my last tour (82,121) (82,142) by Lila from United States
Happy for her for her decision to solely focus on her kids, which is a good thing to do. I wouldn't feel too sad. She's already created so much music. Her legacy will be what she's already made it to be. It's not going to go away if she stops making new music.

Christina Aguilera's carpool karaoke (82,141) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
So Crhistina who is long overdue for a driving session with James Corden has finally done it and it's short and sweet, with the hilarious Melissa McCarthy jumping in for about half of the video. Now we all know Christina doesn't have the healthiest of singing techniques especially when it comes to belting, where she comes across way too brash, but we gotta give the girl some credit. Like past Mariah (and maybe present Mariah on a good day and in a controlled environment), she does an impressive job of sounding almost exactly, if not exactly like the studio recordings of her past hits. But what's really great about the video is that unlike Mariah's "over it, can't be bothered" attitude in both times she featured in Carpool Karaoke, Christina comes across as a down-to-earth diva who's not acting like she's drunk or sedated, but actually responsive game for anything. Not like Mariah needs to do this segment for a third time, but in case she does, I hope she finally understands how it works and acts accordingly.

"Headlines" sounds good. "Spotlight" would also fit. I can't imagine how it is to be so long in the spotlight, seriously one day and I would go crazy. I have so much respect and love for Mariah and I hope she never forgets that she's loved by the fans around the world. Go MC.

Very exciting time for you. No wonder you were MIA for a bit. Congratulations, when is the big day? Nice to see you back posting.

Roc & Roe will always love you (82,136) by Brad from USA
Reading that MC was worried her children wouldn't love her is heartbreaking. Children love their mom, almost no matter what. They will always love you, MC. And as for the fans, they too will always love ya, appreciate ya and enjoy ya. Be well and be you. We look forward to the delights of your new music. God bless and love to all.

Re: New album title (82,135) by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
I just found out from another forum (UKMix) that Mariah has registered a song at the ASCAP site titled "Headlines". I think "Headlines" is such a catchy album title.

I'll always love Mariah (82,134) by Dove from United States
Sometimes I say negative things but at the end of the day I love Mariah and feel like I truly know her through her music. Like family. She's already proven herself as an artist and anything more she does is just icing. I think even the docu-series I'll look back on someday and feel grateful it exists.

Dave Hall (82,133) by Bill from the UK
I really hope Mariah’s new album has a song written with Dave Hall. Dreamlover, Fantasy and Slipping Away were total ear candy and they worked so well together.

If so I do hope she will end her career on a high note with a smash album, epic videos and a farewell tour defining her as the true legend she is. She deserves to be treated as the musical genius she is. So far it looks like her new managment is slowly rebuilding her image. Hopefully the allegations made by Stella will not tarnish the strategy set out by RocNation.

Re: (82,060) and (82,063) (82,120) (82,131) by Mara from United States
JD, I appreciate your post and giving light to the other side of things. I do realize M has gained a new set of fans/followers with a lot of her social media posts as of late. I totally see your perspective on that. It's refreshing that social media is opening people's eyes to the greatness of MC, and if that's what it takes to introduce the newer generation to a catalog such as MC's then that's great. I just hope they support her when she releases her newest material. But, I enjoyed reading your post so thank you.

Drew, can you give the woman some credit for upping her lipping game? Remember she used to be horrible about it, but since we made some recommendations, she took RuPaul's Lip-4yaLife 101 class and now nails it. The fact that nobody knows whom she's working with and the type of music she's making is actually refreshing, like the old days. I hope she keeps it that way.

Re: What if MC said my last album and my last tour (82,124) (82,128) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I completley agree with Licia. As a fan I would be sad, but thankful forever for all she has given since she came out. It's more than enough. If she chooses a life without making new music it wouldn't change the love I have for her musically and as a person. But somehow I believe she still has the music deep in her soul and a lot more to tell, so that she is not ready yet for saying goodbye to the musicbiz. We'll see. If it's the last one, I wish her another number one record but more important that the fans and a lot of non-fans will enjoy it and that she gets all the respect back. I was thinking a lot of the one and only MC lately and also I repeat myself, I just want her to live a happy life. She means more to a lot of people that she will ever know/can imagine.

Hey Jade, have you ever seen the performance of LNADSML at the Vogue Fashion Awards? You can find it on YouTube. It's a fun performance and Mariah looks stunning.

NYE 2017 is on December 31 2016. NYE 2018 is on December 31 2017 and so on: so NYE 2017 referred to the Emotions high notes coming out of the speakers as if by magic. But yea she did lipsync the NYE just gone. The climax of Hero was blatant pre-record. But it was all in jest. Can't a miserable stain on humanity make a joke round 'ere?

Re: What if MC said my last album and my last tour (82,121) (82,124) by Licia from USA
Even though I'm a selfish fan and I want her to make music forever, I know eventually she'll stop and I'd be ok wit it. She's worked so hard for so long she deserves it. Despite how I may feel about some of her behavior and antics throughout the years, musically she'll always be a legend and one of the best. Noone can take away her legacy.

Re: New album title (82,056) (82,123) by B from USA
Mariah started 2018 on the right note (lypsynced according to you). She redeemed herself on RNYE, attended the Golden Globes looking gorgeous with Sharon Stone, and finally came forward with her battle with bipolar II disorder, and is in the studio writing with new collaborators. I think she's already started the ground work for a comeback. Much love and positivity.

You know, I really do like the song. Mariah is a clever interpolator. The song just works for me. The video yes, more than one awkward scene. I blame Stella.

What if MC said my last album and my last tour (82,121) by Bobby A from United States
What if this 2018 new album will be her last and a 2019 world tour will be her last tour. How would Lambs react? Would it pave the way for MC to finally be free to live her life not in the public eye and just focus on raising Roc and Roe? What would be her legacy?

Re: (82,060) and (82,063) (82,120) by JD from United States
First of all I didn't say anything negative about [Andrew], all I stated was that part of the appeal of Mariah is her eccentric personality. When I speak of a resurgence of social media I mean [...] - like since [December]. I do agree with [Andrew] in several aspects of what he said, however I don't think we need a "whole new Mariah". I think we need the Mariah we all know and love. I think her over the topness is being toned down and I can hope she is truly returning to her old, playfully "extra" and "diva" yet still kind and respectable self. I 10000% agree she changed during the [Stella] era. I'm just saying she doesn't need to return to the rehearsed fake non threatening girl next door personality that she had (or was made to have) in the early 90s. I don't agree that "most of her fans" have left because of her personality. This message board mainly just represents her older demographic of fans. She has actually gained tons of younger fans recently, however you may not have known that. And I'm talking about since 2016 not when MIAM came out. Don't know where you got that. Almost everything Mariah's new team tweets goes viral, AIWFCIY was trending all [December], broke spotify record, countless memes and viral tweets about Mariah, etc. Her social media all across the board has gained a lot of followers and attention lately. I'm in a lamb group chat on twitter which consists of literally only teenage lambs who have primarily become fans over the last two years. Maybe for some of you her personality has isolated her "fans" but she has also actually gained quite a few. The thing I do agree with is the way exaggerated and almost bitter way that she acted most of 2016 and 2017 in interviews, but I believe that has mainly to do with her influences at the time. There haven't been many video interviews this year but she was articulate and not super extra at the [Golden Globes] which reminded me of her true self. Mariah is a very smart and articulate woman who can be a diva either as a joke sometimes or as a defense mechanism when she feels threatened. I for one do not mind the jokingly diva Mariah, however the latter is not as appealing. I think that since she seems to be truly happy now it will show and I think the best we can do is hope that this translates into every aspect in her life including her career. I have seen a shift in the general public's idea of her [...] since last year, maybe you haven't noticed but I and several others I know, even in real life have. that's all.

I Don't (82,119) by Dove from United States
I went back and watched the video for I Don't and you guys are right - it's hilarious. I remember when it first came out, I watched it like twice, and then forgot about it because it made me feel uncomfortable. Which is a shame, because, it's the prettiest she's ever looked, ever. Her eyebrows are perfect. Her body is fit, her hair looks great, her make-up is gorgeous. Too many unfortunate scenes though. I think the awkwardest moment is at 2:16.

Re: New album title (82,067) (82,118) by JD from United States
Thanks b. I've been lurking on here for awhile and just had to say that. Obviously some of the way she's acted in 2016-2017 wasn't a representation of her because of her mental health. But I would never want her to sacrifice her amazing personality for mainstream success again. I think she's at a point in her career where she can have both. The problem was that people didn't get her shtick. They saw her as a total bitch and not the playful diva yet caring smart and respectful person that she is. If Mariah had no personality would we even be fans? It takes more than just golden pipes for me to love somebody as much as I love Mariah. I think the general public finally understands her, maybe NYE 2016 and all the downfalls and newfound success across social media has humanized her. Whatever it is I think she's going to do very well.
