Re: Vocabulary (100,737) (100,739) by Stacey from USA
I've already moved on. I got told to practice what I preached. The irony in that is in each interaction I was the one who was always initially approached first, even when I was discussing something with a completely different person. But I digress. Maybe it is time to move on to a different topic like her songwriting.

Re: Vocabulary (100,737) (100,738) by Lady B from USA
Your reading comprehension is off, way off, based on many of your replies to me, including your last one. You also skipped the part where there were 8 posts from "fans" laughing about whether she had MS or some other disease. I'll let you have the last word because I'm bored with you.

Re: Vocabulary (100,735) (100,737) by Bill from the UK
Here's what actually happened.

1. Terna wrote a post saying he didn't like the use of the phrase "or whatever".
2. Some posters agreed, and then it went off topic, as message boards often do.
3. You waded in and said as she was inducted into the SHOF that there isn't anything wrong with her vocabulary (missing the point of Terna's post, as he only spoke about conversational vocab).
4. Stacey agreed with you that she is a great songwriter.
5. I agreed with you that she is a great songwriter.
6. You then lost your shit.

Re: Vocabulary (100,728) (100,735) by Lady B from USA
"That was whole point, no one ever said anything bad about her songwriting so I don't even know how Lady B came to that egregious conclusion."

I will try to land this plane one more time. I never said anyone spoke poorly about her songwriting. I merely said that when folks are commenting on her vocab, they should consider how excellent her writing is, which clearly shows a strong vocab. Get it? I'm really trying to color by numbers for you here - it's not that folks said bad things about her writing, it's that they didn't consider it at all when commenting on her vocab.

Re: Vocabulary (100,729) (100,733) by Edward from USA
I concur. TTEOT is pure brilliance. The Wind is also a favorite of mine, sad but sung with so much soul, it sometimes pierces through my soul. I usually listen to it first then Angel by Sarah McLachlan and then Fields of Gold by Eva Cassidy.

Re: Vocabulary (100,729) (100,731) by Bill from the UK
I know, the bridge is probably one of the best she has ever done. I love the organ and the atmospheric music, it's so moving, and her lush full vocals on top of it all are incredible.

Yes Stacey, that bridge is incredible. I often get goosebumbs while listening to it. The whole Emotions album is so wonderful. A real treasure of music.

Re: Vocabulary (100,728) (100,729) by Stacey from USA
What a cool tradition. It's such a great song. If I was absolutely forced to name my favorite ballad, I'd probably go with TTEOT. So powerful. So full of emotion. Happy Friday.

Tell me what you need
Let me give you all of me
Cause without you, nothing's real
You're the reason that I feel
Oh tell what you need
Let me everything
Every moment I'm alive
Until the end of time

Shivers.

Lol, indeed. That was whole point, no one ever said anything bad about her songwriting so I don't even know how Lady B came to that egregious conclusion. Stacey I had to reply, as when I read your message, Till the End of Time had just started (I always listen to Emotions on a Friday, have done since 1993 lol).

Re: Vocabulary (100,724) (100,726) by Stacey from USA
Irony is Terna never said anything about MC's songwriting either. I'm confused how her songwriting got grouped in with her speaking vocabulary. Shrugs.

Time to pop in Till the End of Time and enjoy what I think is one of her best bridge to final chorus moments ever.

Re: Vocabulary (100,723) (100,725) by Stacey from USA
Terna started a topic about Mariah's speaking vocabulary, nothing about her songwriting. Nothing. It kinda then morphed into her needing assistance to walk and all that. It was lighthearted fun. You brought the drama to a funny moment between fans here.

No one here would ever dare mock MC's writing abilities because they are unmatched. She is in a league of her own. "Looking In" is my life's theme song. CTTA among so many lyrics she's written have helped me through some difficult moments. It's why I'm still a fan after nearly 30 years.

Honestly if some of us bother you so much, look up the word ignore and follow that definition. You'll be much happier. Carey on.

You're talking nonsense and confusing me with Terna. I never said anything negative about her conversational vocabulary, nor her songwriting.

Re: Vocabulary (100,720) (100,723) by Lady B from USA
Yup, and not one of those comments "stayed on topic" as you told me to to do whilst ine was closer to. Most of it were ad hominem attacks (again, as always), whereas mine brought it back to the topic - vocab. You (and Stacey) always fall back on "longtime fans", but I'm not sure that "hahaha, maybe she has MS" and the like is a good way of showing it. Just one gal's opinion, though, I guess you think since you bought a cassette tape in the 90s that it gives you liberty to attack, attack, attack daily on a fan site.

Also let me spell it out for you - your point, to the extent you stayed on topic, was that her vocab is bad because she occasionally uses phrases you don't like. My point was simply, obviously her vocab is great because in addition to whatever phrases she uses when not working, she writes incredibly. Your [sic] saying you never said she wasn't a good writer is inapposite, I said she was and is, and it shows how strong her vocab is.

Also you and others used your thread to shoot her down on nonsensical and ad hominem attacks, per usual. You do you, I guess.

Wow. I guess that's why there is no mention of any credit information inside the CD. Why would MC deceive us like that? Sounds like a song title. Lol. I need to stop going through my MC collection and get out of town for a trip.

I have the Through The Rain 3-track CD with a live version of Bringin' On The Heartbreak. Does anyone know where this live version was recorded? The video for this gem was a live version too.

She is 173 cm tall, with the heels she is 183 cm, she needs to be tall. Do you want her to tip toe her around town, no, she loves those heels.
